Daphne over the years..

Been busy organising my hard drive, and the picture folders in it.
I found countless pictures of myself in the past decade, and I'm so pleased to report that every year came a different look.

It's like you can't even point a finger and say that I look boring.
Hahah.

But because I change my mind so often, I guess it annoys people that they can't seem to grasp my style either - Being adverse to changes, it gives people an uncertainty - as routine and habits seems to provide humans with a false sense of security (of what?! that's beyond me)

You know, we are all creatures of habit.
Change one ingredient, and you'll have a whole nation revolting in disgust or something like that.

One of my ex boss was like that.
It's as if I'll induce a heart attack when I walk into his office in a pair of bright red wedges.

Dear Mr H, I nearly went into depression trying to dress professionally in black, navy and black... We need a compromise somewhere.... because before I joined you, life in CRC allowed me to wear practically anything.

Sure Mr D would gawk and ask me if i'm in the right mind when I push the dress code to its limits..but as of my memory served me, it didnt come up to anywhere near 5 incredulous faces.

Lol.

I had twinkly hair just like my little pony, wore high waist shorts, purple and red dress ensembles with matching red necklace and heels to boot, and I survived.
*pats self on the back*

I do not think I would ever live to look the same year after year.
My kids would probably look at my picture album - look at me in the eye and say "mommy, why do all your picture look the same year after year?"
"and if you look the same, why do you keep taking pictures? see one is same as seeing all ma.... only that you look older"
pffft!

I think i'll kill myself if that ever happens.
I can never understand how people can find contentment in looking the same year after year, day after day.
Wouldn't you be tired eating the same food every day?

That would be like telling me that I have to be vegetarian for life, or that I have to wear black everyday like Morticia Adams or perhaps the equivalent to others that the wealth they have accumulated in their lifetime, is no longer in use. Moving back to using rocks and stones and bartering as a means of trade.
Blasphemy I guess.
Lol.

So a blast back to the past as I marvel at the change in hairstyle and my makeup style...
in no specific time order...

Poof fringe.
Dark hair
I believe I was achieving the classy look without compromising my design student edge by mixing the fuchsia color into my outfit.
Oh and, no mascara, not going out era. Lol.

My hair after the hairshow for L'oreal's competition - my hairstylist made it to the Top 10

One of those days after a haircut at the defunct Blitz Salon and still in my ASOS feather earring craze

Growing out my L'oreal haircut (had to have the same cut twice - once for photoshoot and once was the real thing) and still pulling off the asymmetric look, and I like pining up one side of my hair still..
Gotta love those crazy set square worthy angles that I call eyebrows.
I guess over tweezing was the fashion then..just like korean bushy eyebrow was a couple of years back.

The classic bob which I still love - think I'll go back to this again, once I'm sick of my long hair, minus the grey lens.

This is when I learn that Stubby stud earrings is not flattering to round and fat faces.
Lol. Putting a circle on an already circular face is what we call... drawing attention to unnecessary chubs! (chubbiness) *sigh*
Genius right?

Tonged the bob hair for a dinner party.
Going for the sassy look here..

then came the one sided bob.
Took me a week to decide that I really like this asymmetric bob.
You can see that the hair on the left side was really short! It's like ear length!

My sun kissed look.
Minimal eyeshadow, and just tons of blusher.
At that point, I was using up my blusher every 3 months!
I still like this look alot!
Up close,
Really quite nice what!

Went for a hair perm - compliments from the defunct Blitz salon, and styling my hair EVERYDAY is quite a chore...
I also liked how I edited the picture to be semi actual color, and semi sepia-ish.
Nice right?
I then evolved to my "grunge princess" look, with the trucker caps, and dark rimmed eyes..

went on to get myself hair extentions to complete the grunge princess look.
How to look princess, if your hair is short right?!
Lol

Got sick of the hair extentions in like 2 months and chopped the remaining permed bits away.
I decided to be a boy.
That was before Agyness Deyn, the model became hot with her androgynous get up.
Rwar!
This was the picture post photoshopping -color accenting, inspired by Canon's new camera feature that I haven't gotten around to buying yet.
Haha.
Hair grew from my andro cut, and I was still very much in the Rock and edgy girl phase..
So black... so manly, but yet managed to soften the look by girlifying with my girly Miss Sixty chain dangle leather belt and used lace on the wrist, instead of leather cuffs.
Tough balance to achieve alright!

Uhhh I found this random picture of sister and I.
can't remember if the hair do was tonged of styled post perm...
I call it my Farah Fawcett inspired Flyaway hair!
According to the picture we did some Heineken event I think..
okay, I believe it was a casting we went for.

Uhhh this was when I was highly dependent on fake lashes - and latched onto them everywhere I go. No lash = no chio era.
Stupid huh..

At this point in time, I believe Im almost done with my grunge, rock princess and angsty look.
Reverted back to classic and decided that I wanted mermaid length long hair...

I like that classic Look - Audrey Hepburn inspired with pearl necklace to boot!

The next picture to follow, would be my take on the smoky eye look.
There's a million color combination to achieve smoky eyes, and a million ways to achieve the look.
I'm not saying that I'm right, but I personally BELIEVE that Smoky eye has to be well blended.

Harshly applied smoky eyes makes one look "fierce",  cause overall appearance to look flat and unFLATtering (lol the unintended pun) , creates an unapproachable look (then what's the point in putting on make up uh?) and a big tell tale sign of inadequate make up skills - for all your mistakes are so obvious for people to spot.

Blended smoky eyes on the other hand gives the smothering sexy look, without looking as if you've tried too hard, and definitely more feminine, therefore attractive.

what Im lacking is some lip gloss before I took the picture.
Oh well.. Next time..
But love those eyelashes!

Went on to be Korean inspired with the thick eyebrows, minimal make up and dark hair color.
So plain, so boring.

and currently still in my armpit worthy long hair, and eventually moved on to a Gyaru / Ulzzang  inspired styling - altering my eye make up and completing the look with cutesy hair accessories.

I know right, there are days when I look like I have issues with being my real age.

Okay I alternate between looking cute,
looking like a hippie, and a grown up when required.

Can't always pretend to be underage right.
There are days where actually HAVE to act my age, and so... no choice loh dress my age.
Lol

Scanning through the post.
I can only conclude that my baby fats on the cheeks is finally gone!
Hamburger face no more!
Hohoho!

It's really tough to catch which mood I'll be in, on a dressing up basis...
so leave me alone.
It's not for anyone (friends or foe) to tell me what is nice and what's not - That's for me to decide only.
I didn't ask for any critique, so no point asking me "what's with the bunny ears".

Just because you CHOOSE to blend in with your surroundings to look like everybody else,
or that you DO NOT have what it takes to look or dress good or even FEEL good about yourself - does not mean that I have to stoop down - just to make you feel "better" about yourself being atypical.
I'm just being true to myself, my whims, my fancy.
I'm not running an esteem charity here.

Besides, My friends love me for me, not for the way I look, or the weird stares they get being seen with me.
Because they understand me for me.

To be diplomatically right, I'll just share my conversations with mommy, it's like I know my mommy dislikes it whenever I wear my "rabbit eared" hairband totally dramatically.
She's fine if I wear it like a sweet little doe-ed eye girl, but no. I'm not a sweetie, mommy.

Telling me that it is too attention grabbing or that it's not nice, is not going to alter my decision.
No matter how many times you tell me otherwise, I'll still wear it in whichever color, until I finally get bored of it.

Well I'm stubborn like that, and there are also life lessons that I grew up with.
Compromising is something that I would not agree to most of the time - because it involves making EVERYONE happy, but yourself.
Lol - generation gap here, and a post worthy of an entry by itself.

I have never considered myself to be a pretty girl, but looking asthetically pleasing and knowing what "works" and what doesn't is a gift and talent (that I believe), that is bestowed to me.    (well, gotta be fair and account for all the maths and accounts that I've failed in school right?!)

I like my bunny ears, and I'd never wear Tee Shirts in public.
I'll never look drabby or shabby, (you can wish your entire life time away that I would) and along with whatever stupid comments you can think of with regards to the way I am aesthetically.

Just leave me alone, and save unnecessary comments to yourself.
I'll ask, when I think I need it.
In the meantime, my eyes and multiple full length mirrors at home, serve me just fine.

Aiyo, I sound so bitchy, but kThxBye!

Progression

Progression in life.

When you were a kid... $1 was like big deal, for it could get you icecream at the provision shop.

When you start Primary school, a dollar would be like a daily meal allowance.
Landing with a $10 bill is like hitting jackpot back then.

Progressing on to Secondary school, an allowance of $10 - one can barely make ends meet.
$100 seems more apt -but it's something to lust for (at least it was for me)

The allowance progression just kept increasing as I moved along to Polytechnic, then SIM, and subsequently, $100 meant 4 hours worth of work for me back when I was studying.
As we move on in life, we require larger amount of money to satisfy our needs and wants and to sustain lifestyles..

My point in jotting this down is ..
We as human have no choice but to move progressively.
Perhaps someone might tell me that nothing seems to be good enough for me - is that really so?

The way I see it, It is pointless to move sideways - for you end up doing different things for the same effort, which might be exciting and add variety to life for a moment or two.
But yet at the end of the day - you achieve a myraid of experience side ways but never quite fulfill your destiny of  getting to the top as planned.
Which some might call it as a waste of time.

But at the end of the day, reality wins.
Call it greedy, call it demanding, for we all have no choice but to move on, climb on to seek greener pastures, for this is what life is all about.

Most call it the Survival of the fittest.

We can only stop and help as much as we can.
But when its between your life or mine, it will have to be mine.
I'm not mother teresa - i'm not ghandhi. Sacrificing my life for the good of mankind - doesn't quite cut it out for me.

I can only try to, but I have my limits.
Time and effort was spent trying - and still there wasn't any progression
So it's either my way, or nothing at all.

I'm sorry.
but it's time to abandon the ship.
especially when the ship doesn't want to save itself.

I'm ill

Not sure if this is going to be full blown.
But i'm officially sick.

Sorethroat, clammy hands and feverish all at the same time (never confirmed the temperature bit)
Spent the whole day in bed, waking up to reply text, and ignoring a big chunk of it the entire day, while breathing out hot air out like a dragon the entire day.
It's evolved to raspy phlegmy throat with itchy throat that requires coughing to solve the itch.

I hate how everything has its ups and down.
One minute you'll be damn happy over a slice of banana chocolate cake, and next moment, you suffer from sore throat from the chocolate.

Same with eating up crackers.
Why cant ANYTHING remain up and remain there forever.
Like let me finish the entire cake without making me sick,
or eating too much sweets and ending up with a tummyache
Stay up late all night, without feeling like shit the next day.
Have awesome skin without zits FOREVER..

It's like sitting on the airplane. I like it up in the air (if it's with in flight entertainment)
I hate being grounded in the plane waiting and waiting.

Same for holidays.
You go away anticipating and happy, and come back home sad about having to resume the boring life.

One minute i'm rejoycing over the new phone, next thing i'm too sick to bother about the phone.

The list goes on rather extensively....

Shall end this post in more positive times!
My Heart shaped icecream in Raspberry cheesecake flavour which tasted alot like the Ripple flavour.
Yay! I haz pretty icecream to noms the other afternoon.

While i'm now sick, pimply and feeling yucky.
KThxBye

Abercrombie and Fitch in Singapore

Abercrombie and Fitch decides to set up shop in Singapore.
No big deal huh (so I thought to myself - when the news came to me).

BUT seems to me that it IS BIG DEAL!
How often do you see like 30ish good looking dudes standing in a row, shirtless and smiling at you?!
Wahhhh

When I saw this picture...

I was instantly inspired to have like 5 shirtless butler / greeters at my front door when I'm uber rich in future.
They'll entertain me when I'm bored just by smiling
Yay!

I couldnt resist the hype, and went down for a look see, and subsequently decided to be brave enough to ask for a picture.
Was damn shy about it - coz I never fancied queuing up for anything mass market like.
Nope - not during the hello kitty
Nope - not the doughnut factory thingie either
Nope to the insane bubble tea
Nope to the iphones too
But the first time I do something vaguely Singaporean - it has to be with shirtless guys.
Wehhhh~
So loserish / kiasu/ no life.

This is where I end...
Kiap-ed between 2 shirtless greeters, happy like a bird.
They're damn tall! I was already in my ribbon platforms (one of my taller footwear), and they're still taller than me in just slippers.
How can?!

When I walked past, I hesitated about taking picture with blondies... - not my preference.. (not being racist, Im just stating my preference here!)
Then change my mind when I walked on and saw brunette/asian models.
Realistically speaking, I prefer dark colored hair guys.
There were tons of good looking dudes, but I chose what I was comfortable with/ without having to queue or snatch with the fanatic girls.

X suggested that I go around taking picture with all 30ish of them...
But seriously, i'm not THAT desperate leh...
Just doing this for the kicks of it only!

Yay!
Shirtless boys FTW

Hello iphone

So the deed is done.
I've jumped over to the mass wagon - and succumbed to the little white iphone 4s.
Officially semi retiring the snowberry - which has served me decently well for the past...2 years (almost)

I truly miss how organized the Blackberry is when it comes to emails, text, and other messages.
Especially the joys of Blackberry messenger - which has never failed me since the start.

I miss the clickity clackity of  texting with buttons VERY MUCH!
What I do not miss though, would be the Blackberry's sucky camera, as there is little joy in snapping shitty/blurry/hazy looking pictures - using the Blackberry.

Next would be the Applications available.
There is so little memory space available for me to explore apps, and most of the apps available are hardly exciting at all.
Aiyo...

The iphone on the other hand, has a really messy email sorting system.
has already caused me to download like a million apps, make me feel very consumer hoodwinked - very much like a groupie.
The efficient itune has already sent me my invoice/bills.

I spend most of my spare time playing bejewel both the normal one and the blitz one - and I guess that is one of the biggest reason why I'm like sickish at the moment.
NOT ENOUGH SLEEP!

With the Awesome camera - and countless photo apps I might just load up more pictures, now that it's waaaay handier to rely on the phone camera to snap moments..
That aside, typing and texting sucks!

It is terrible!

Disastrous!

The snowberry's keyboard was dying (due to age and some abuse) - so it created the impression that I'm text stuttering
 - like hi, wouuld you lliike to mmeet me ttmr for dinner?

iphone on the other hand is just sends out embarrassing text!

Ok became Moo
Wat became Eat
Santarina became Sanitarian.
Babe became bane

It's as if i've lost my mind completely.
Ok, what time would you like to meet, miss Santarina babe (randomly constructed sentences just to prove a point here)

became Moo eat sanitarian bane.
WTF!

You get the idea...

So Constant checking of spelling before hitting the enter key. So tiring to be constantly fighting between typing accuracy and autobcorrect.
Aiyooh!

iphone's ringtone - and rigid thingie about ringtone is terrible.
I hate the preset ones given.
GImme me my spanky music set as ringtone... why do you make it so difficult for me?!

Adaptability wise is little issues for me.
The iphone technically functions on the same operating system as the Macbook - so locating everything essential on the phone is just child's play
- just needed to figure out the shortcut keys to seal the iphone experience . :)

This pretty sums up my little dilema of my 2 tech toys.
I guess if the 2 fruity phones would team up together and give me a berryple - it'd be a dream come true!

For now - I can only dream, and was just a breath away from getting dual SIM - just so that I could use the iphone and Blackberry with the same number.
Rwar!

But why would I want to carry 3 phones around right?
As if the bag is not heavy enough with my junk.

Ok..gonna download ringtone apps - before the preset one drive me nuts

Cheers!

I need to colour up my life again.

sleeping beauty(fully)

I crashed into bed post dinner.
Yes,
With full make up on the face,
lights on, and my outside clothes.

Mom walked in and attempted a conversation with me while I'm asleep
(gotta love how persistent my mommy is, even though she clearly knows that i'm sleeping right)
I struggled to mumble nod Mostly....
and our mother/sleep daughter conversations goes..

Mommy:Will you be having lunch tomorrow?
Me: Mumbly yes
Mommy: Why are you asleep with the room lights on?
Me: *ignores*
You've still got your make up on leh!
Me: *nods*
Mommy: so are you having lunch tomorrow or not?
Me: zzzz

What seems like a really long one-sided staring incident from the mom..
The mother gives up and it was silence...
*lights out*

a couple of hours later, I woke up from my short nap and answered all her questions.

Yes mommy, I can lunch in tomorrow if you want me to, or I can just sleep off without lunch as usual.
and I left my make up, so I could be Sleeping Beauty!
and the lights have to be on, so that you'd be able to admire my beauty.

There we go.

the woman gave me her -_- face and went to sleep as I post this.
Maybe its my turn to try some questions on her now.
Hohohoho.

Christmas nails

Candy Cane Inspired nails with Ponsietta flower on the thumbs to boot.
100% hand painted with the brushes that comes with the polish and the help of a toothpick.
Yaaaa, artwork is not THAT fantastic, but it has to be simple enough to be excuted by the left hand, sooo i'm a happy girl.

I also dug out a few pictures of older designers I did at the start of the year...
Lace rimmed inspired ~ I was into the natural and nude look with Korean bushy eyebrows, boring dark hair to boot at that point...

Which later evolved to using alot of blings during the festive seasons...
CNY? Christmas? I'm not sure, really..
It was bling bling in 20,000 color combinations, and marching crystals.. Lol.
The dotted rimmed design just meant it was consecutively painted out during the same period of time (in my head).

Nail craze aside..
It's always been a dream to own a quaint little nail bar of my own, just to fix up my nails, over a cup of hot steamed milk or tea.
Bubble tea will do fine as well.
Lol
Business and cents wise, there are many business that I'll like to own.
it does not make sense to set up any of my own at the moment.

The closest in mind would be Forest and Trees located at The Cathay Cineplex.
Their dooe is so cute..

Next time then say..

Xoxo

Goodbye Haatei.

Less than a week ago, I wrote an entry about Haatei the Shiba Inu that I picked up last Sunday.
Haatei has since been reunited with his owners, and his real name is Genji.
Now that we've found his owners, and have gotten real facts to all the assumptions that I've made... I realized that my guesses as been pretty spot on!

I told mom that his owner should be closer to mommy's age, as Haatei seems to be closer to mommy- like following her around seems to be his top priority.

We also guessed that Haatei lives in a landed property - because he's extremely garden trained when it comes to toilet time. That's quite a no brainer.
He never once pee-ed/poo-ed in the house.

The sis "lol-ed" and said that giving him a japanese name part has been spot on as well, since his real name is Japanese inspired.

I also declared to mommy and the brother that his owners cant possibly be english speaking people - for the bugger does not seem to understand English commands much.
I was being mean at that time, but I said his owners could be Indians or foreigners , and true enough his real owners are Taiwanese.
We never guessed about the chinese bit tho, see-ing that most Chinese in Singapore is able to communicate in English language equally fluently.

Rwar! I'm kinda good huh!
Need to sign up with the SPCA to be a dog reuniter detective or something!

Detective work aside,
I cried like mad when I knew I had to return him back to his owners.
:(
But that's just me being a soppy baby as usual.

I am like super sad about being dogless now.
He was such an obedient sweetie (aside for his crazy obstinate urge to mark a every tree and lamp post)

I miss how he'll rest his head on the crook of my elbow area whenever he sees me eating something, and he'll sniff hard - which is his attempt to tell me to share my food with him.
Nope he never gets any from me, but neither does he snatch or even try to lick/eat my food even if it's within his reach.

How many dogs have you met in your life time, that is able to exercise such good self restraint?
--
I was stoning with the dog in the afternoon (post walk and feeding time) as usual, when I received a call from the SPCA and subsequently from his owners.
Within like 30 minutes, his owners came to get him.
I was happy that the doggles was going to be reunited with his owners, but sad at the thought that he'll no longer be around.

Okay, I burst into tears and did what I could do inbetween, like packed up all the food and toys that I've bought for him in a span of 5 days.
Took abit of pictures of him (he was kinda non cooperative when it came to the picture taking part, and I looked like crap anyway)
Said my goodbyes to him and hugged him alot (which he hates).
Burst into tears alot more
and looked really crappy when I met his real owners.

So here we go, my last tear-ry picture of Haatei, wondering what the heck is wrong with me.

Goodbye my dear Haatei the itchy doggles.
I'll miss you for a real long time.

*also resisting the urge not to run over to his place to visit him (even tho his owners said I could)

xoxo

Ps: the fam misses him much as well.
The bro came home that afternoon, and after a substantial amount of time of hunting for the dog in his possible chillout spots, he came out to ask where Haatei was.
The mom too.
and the sister was sad that we no longer have a dog.
:'(

I'm flabby again.. :(

Lying in bed, thinking about random stuff before I sleep ( yeah, I need to do that, if not I cant fall asleep) and I got reminded about something annoying trivial.
Seems like i've got alot to ramble about lately. oops.

Here goes:
If you're not gonna take my advise, then don't ask me about it.
And the best part about it, that makes me want to laugh...
It's been years! If it had worked over the years, you wouldnt need to debate about it with me now. #JustSaying.

I'm sorry but I kinda really know what I'm talking about.

Next.
I need to start on my static exercises again.
Took me a long whatsapp conversation to realize that I'm terribly unfit!
Panted like a dog when I swam the other day, and I've kinda forgot my "I shall swim/pilates once a week" discipline for almost the entire year! OMG!

I hate it when people rave about cardio workout.
Yes it burns..but I've kinda got nothing to burn...
so it's just toning to do.

There's a vast difference between losing just weight and looking like a rectangular block, and compared to losing weight + looking toned/defined.

Besides too much cardio will develop stocky muscles, coz people forget to tone and stretch, then develops a clump of muscles, and therefore look like rectangular block/ muscle mary.
#imho that is.

Hello! There's a reason why Eva longoria in desperate housewife is always seen doing yoga right? #justSayingAgain.

Perhaps I should just go back to dancing. That would fix the cardio and toning part, also be considered a good workout huh.

Ok goodnight.
Hopefully I'll find the inspiration to bring my purple gym mat out  for a short airing, when I wake up later.

Haatei

So word has it that there's a new dog on the block!
:D

Yup! It's semi true!

Was out having a late dinner last sunday, and I brought home a Shiba Inu.
To respect the dog's privacy, I shall not ramble too much about how I found him, coz we're still pending some unsettled stuff.

So having given some thoughts and with the help of X..... he came up with some names/words/inspiring idea for me that he thought I may like.

We finally settled the Japanese Word Ha-te-shi (translated to be fate), and after a bout of name and word play on my end....
Haatei was derived!

There's a double pun of word play Haatei sounds pretty close to the word "heart"
Heart-tey!

Anyway people, Meet Haatei!

He's red, and resembles the famous Hachiko alot.
He reminds me of a Fox whenever I steal glances at him!
Haatei has been quite a sweetie so far and is extremely obedient.

He seems to be house trained, and is a pleasure to take care of.

He was stoning in the dining area, when I snapped this picture of him.
Look at how he smiles and pose for the camera!
So happy and so handsome!
He knew I was taking picture, and smiled for this shot.

Now that the doggie's more or less settled into the house routine at my place,
he seems to be sleeping ALOT!

Apart from sleeping, he spends his remaining time trailing behind me/mom/bro (whoever who's home).
WHEN all of us are home, Haatei shuffles back and forth between the bro, mom and I to check on us/camp out with us in our respective rooms.

Writing this entry, I attempted to photobooth with Haatei, and HE yawned and IGNORED ME.
Trotted off to sleep at my door instead.
Sad!

Our only decent photo for tonight.

Our photoboothing attempts was interrupted - I had to answer a phonecall, and the sleepy mister trotted away..
No love from the doggles :(

That's all.

Ps: Was chatting with an old friend about Haatei, and somehow her passing comment about my family's love of sheltering animals etc that I got reminded about how darn lucky I am, to have a mommy who, despite her phobia of animals - has never stopped me from bringing home strays ever since I could remember.

Be it the injured bird that I found in the garden, or the stray kittylet, or even the 20 hamsters that I once housed  at the same time because my schoolmate's hamsters were replicating and humping like hamsters literally (lol) - and her mom threatened to release them in the garden.
I couldnt bear with the thought that they'll be exposed to the food chain, and took them all home with me in shoe boxes.
There wasn't enough cages to go round, and mommy gave me her basins, planter pots, pails to house them - until I could relocate them. Lol.
Actually she insisted that I relocate them, so she could have her pails and basins back for the maid to resume housework.
There's also the old pair of rabbits, and the current bunny at home that the sister brought home, and now we have Haatei the doggle.

I'm thankful for my mom, the dog and the big guys upstairs for making everything happen, minus the itchy scratching from the dog.
I have this uber urge to shave the handsome doggle into botak doggle to try and solve his skin problems.
:)

Just Rambling.

Spent the entire night fixing up my tweed textured nails.
It's winter!
Brilliant idea took me about 2 hours to accomplish.
First the tweed lines was too thick, then it was too thin...
then the tweed weave was in a weird sequence
or that I used too much purple and my tweed texture ended up looking goth and dirty.

Finally when everything because acceptable, my artwork bled from the layer of  Megashine applied.
Wehhh

Grossed out, but it look fine from afar.

---
Spent the day tracking my juicy couture girls in town.
Seriously gave up tracking them... I'll just rely on the pictures given by client's pro photographer la.
#wastetime

Town on the other hand, is getting too crowded for my fancy.
With the christmas lights up and all, everyone's crowding up to take pictures dunno for what somemore.

Most people know how cranky I can be when I'm stuck in a place with too many people.
I detest crowded congested areas, not sure why it irks me so bad.
irdk.

Heading home from town is a love hate situation.
It is too ridiculous to cab home - coz of the jam, and home averages about 8 bus stops away from town.
However, bussing home on weekend = tons of maids congregating and invading my bus route home.

I've got nothing against them, but seriously they annoy me in possibly more than just one way.

It's like they have NO SENSE of personal space...
They like jabbing at my back repeatedly when stuck in a crowded area - it's like hello quit jabbing my back before I turn nasty.

You know why they jab me?
Because they are too busy talking to their counterparts to see where they're walking into.
So everytime I am forced to stop (crowded areas), they bang into my back.

On a bus when I'm seated and they're standing.
Their bags can be situated about 2cm away from my face, and I call that an invasion of privacy.
Your bag is THIS close to my face and you dont know how to shift it?
Why again? Because they are too busy talking to their counterparts to bother.

They also like obstructing the passage way in the bus - preventing passengers from boarding the bus and you gotta give it to them that NOTHING - I really mean nothing will daunt them from their conversations
They can talk loudly across the bus from both ends.
One end of the market to the other end.
Scream from 5 levels away...
Stair case to kitchen windows.

AMAZING Beings.

*I grew up with foreign helpers at home since young, and I treat the ones at home like family, for they're really nice people, dote on me (and I generally have nothing against them.)
You know, off day and comes home with treats, food, presents for me.
And mom reciprocates too. Like buy stuff, pass a ton of toys and clothes for them to send back home etc,

But when 2 or more of them come together...they can talk through earthquakes and floods and  still be oblivious to the world.
TRUST ME.
That's the only part that I really dont like.
I guess no one's perfect, but I just really need to get it out of my system

Black Friday

Keep seeing Black Friday stuff pop up in my timeline.
It's quite dumb, coz in Singapore, nobody really practice the tradition of Thanksgiving, and the idea of introducing BLACK FRIDAY in Singapore (it's really kinda lost)  because the culture is only happening in the USA, and it's somewhat a backlash event, What has it gotta do with Singapore?!

Next - the sale items most online shops have, are merely attempting to do clearance.
All looks boring.
50% off also uninspired to buy.

In other news, I met Valda for dinner at Itacho...and had desserts at Shodoku..
On my way home, I was busy texting and I missed my stop!
Ended up walking 3 bus stops to get home.
I decided that my food was fully digested at bustop #2.

I reached home, took off my shoes and warmed up a can of Chicken Alphabets.
I even threw in an egg for good measure, but Alas! The egg yolk broke.
When hungry, one can't be picky.
I slurped it all up anyway!

Laid in bed to catch up on Tweets and FB and in less than an hour,
I'm now eating my kokocrunch immersed in a bowlful of milk.
Nope not the ricebowl size...it's the big soup bowl size okay.

I swear my stomach's like a blackhole.

The bestie's back from Indon tomorrow.
So glad that my appetite is in tip top condition for our nom-ing escapade tomorrow.

Sadly, *No one really stuff themselves silly with me anymore.
Everyone else seems to be on a diet of sorts for random reasons.    :(
Even the bestie. I swear he starves himself in Indo, and gobbles up only when he's in Singapore.

*ok not exactly no one.
The family is still eating alot - but it hardly counts - as we hardly have time to eat together.
With Da #forever busy, and daddy #foreverinchina..
That's just mom, the brother and me.

Dislike.

The way life is..

Way of life #1

Just crawled out of bed to make payments to the girls.
This is their favourite part of their job, and for me - the part that makes me smile most; for it gives me satisfaction to visualize their faces + the smile that lights up their pretty face(s) whenever they receive my text to them that their PAY IS IN.

lol
that's when I get the most love for the day - Yeah, wise men says money can't buy you love, but that's really besides the point.
Tsk.

Way of life #2
I cant run very far away from Adobe Photoshop.
There's self narcism to fulfill
Then there was the pursuit of aesthetic pleasing pictures
Next there was Bowtique
and now there's composite cards.

I love Photoshop lots! Even if the commercial aspect of it usually requires no brainer edits, and the lack of creativity outputs

Way of life #3
As I get older, I get lazier - and I eventually stop posting pictures of myself

Way of life #4
Everytime I tell myself that I will post up pictures of my daily outfits, I'd realize that I am the one who gets bored of my own ideas faster than anything else - then ditch the project.
Same goes for my nails diaries - The intention was to take pictures of my nail designs for the whole of this year - but I guess the idea became meh to me.

Whaa :(
Its seriously bad news when I get bored of myself this easily.

Way of life #5
Online shopping is ♥
But I get really annoyed at inefficient online shops.
Like the recent cardigan + furry bag + underwear that I bought from a local site
They oversell/over promise themselves, and under perform max.

Totally disgusting!
I've got stuff pending on their end, thou shall only badmouth - when I RECEIVE all my items.

Gotta run!
Gotta leave home in 10mins, and i'm still in my jammies + stinky morning breath.
LOL

Good morning!

Just finished fixing my nails and thinking about food at 5am in the morning...
I figure I should just sleep that hunger off, coz rummaging for food = paint job gone down the drain, so just blog while the paint job dries...

Fixing my nails is probably another person's version of jogging, or pilates or yoga or whatever hobby you have in mind.
It helps me to take my mind off things, and so it's been a pet peeve since like I set foot into Poly. Every week new color and design + since I'm like 85% ambidextrous..
it's a gift that I should not put to waste.
Hahahaha.

Took me a loooong time to decide on color, and finally settled for the glittery olive.
Then spent the next 30mins persuading myself to keep the nail simple with just a single tone...but I couldn't bring my self to do so, and hence the tiniest, skinniest gold glitter french tip just to look like a margarita rimmed glass
(Deep down, no one really gives a shit about my nails but as long as keeps me happy, everyone's happy.)

Spent almost the entire day sleeping and kinda forget all about food until I left home for work.
Met Claudia for dinner, and as I start eating.....
in her exasperated tone:  "you either dont eat the entire day, or end up eating all your meals in one sitting."
It sounded rather funny to me ~ the way the facts was presented, and my mom agrees!

Well, there IS some truth to that!

Dinner consist of:

Seafood Phad Thai and Green Curry with rice at Mart Boulevard (they serve pretty awesome Thai food at affordable price. Our Bill came up to $16-ish in total?) - as usual, she ate whatever she could, and I finished up the remaining portion like a starving african kid.

I guess i'm never quite done with the puberty eating. #Lol

Post dinner, we settled for NYDCs at Hor-land vee-lage,  and again the lady ate half portion of her brownies, and I ate up double portions. :)

She had NYDC's brownie with icecream..
I had my favourite Goldmine cheese cake and an additional scoop of macadamia icecream. Yums!
I swear we're totally Yin yang when it comes to dessert.
I'll eat up everything fatty, creamy, sinful but non chocolately, and Claud totally digs the chocolate-ty stuff.

Super love the way she works the camera with her 20,000 expressions.
My personaly favourite - hungry face!
The waiter kept serving her my desserts - coz of her hungry expressions :D

Her "all mine!" shot

and lastly the "I haz dessert" shot (we secretly call it something else)

Makes me happy to see these pictures, so I should post it here to share, and read through when I'm bored. Bet it'll cheer me up.
And make me hungrier.

As for me, I'm quite pathetic.
Only capable of smile and dont smile - epic fail. :(

Helpless

Heading home, I listened to her story.
I understood her distress, and as much as I wanted to comfort her,  I was pretty much stuck in the same situation with nothing to offer, for I am none wiser.

Everything she said sounded like the exact words that I've said repeatedly/

I feel her angst.
I feel her sorrow.
I know her dejection and disappointment.
I understand her inner struggles within.

We sat on the short journey, I was mostly quiet and helpless.

Helpess because I do not know how to comfort her, and neither do I have any advise to offer.
For I too, am stuck in the same obstacles as she is facing.

Only longer.

I questioned why do we have to go through this again and again?
Dont we deserve better?

Deep down I am thankful that despite the pathetic day I endured on 11.11.11 - I know for sure that I am being taken care of.
All the cock ups combined today could have possibly been worst, if it was not for the help that UPSTRs gave me.

In fact, now that I've got time to space out and filter out today's event...
the 2 most precious words that I often mutter to people around me came back to me through the mouth of a customer.

He said to me:

:)

Faith is like a warm cup of milk on a chilly rainy day, and I made it through anyway.
Keep smiling.
At least I usually try to.

My one true love... person of leisure

For the past few months, boring Sundays like today, are rare to come by!

I woke up without the alarm or beeping from whatsapp or text messages asking me about deployments, emergencies to attend to and so on... So happy!

Spent another 2 hours bumming around, taking my own slow slow sweet time dress up...and even had time to masque my eyes - Im totally loving those gel pads that X replenished for me while he was in Korea...
stoned around more, played SIMs Social
repack my undies drawer according to their color, before heading out.

Headed out to hunt for stuff, had Koi caramel milk tea (even tho my new obsession would be Ah Gan's Taro milk tea...), bought my sparkling crackly candy pops + those coke jellies we used to have from the Bugis gift store before heading off for some hot Ramen for dinner, shopped abit at somerset...

My happy loots taken in the car..
I bought more than just that.
Took them out for illustration purposes..
and I'm wearing my new lace rimmed whitewash denim shorts!
Woo hoo..
They look alot like diaper in this picture...but whatever la!
I'm happy with my new loots!  (Yah... I know i'm such a kid still)

Came home early, got bored and junked on tibits mommy just bought. (she just came back from malaysia like hours ago..)
Junking on food like nonstop.

I bought new stuff online #guilty, played more SIMS Social... stoned again
Gossip on BBM and Whatsapp..
Blogged!

THAT WAS HOW I USED TO LIVE MY LIFE.
Oh I somewhat missed that bumming life, not that life now isn't good.

We're all entitled to reminisce, aren't we?

*on hindsight, I could have used all that spare time to do some work for bowtique right?
Poor Bowtique has been neglected for the longest time! Argghh.
I feel so bad now.

My special Aunty!

Received pictures from the Sister's camera taken during Kenny's wedding.
Of all the pictures, I think im happiest to see pictures of Aunty and me!

She's probably the only person in the world who'll love me unconditionally even when I am not blood related to her!

This special lady took care of me when mom and dad could not afford a maid back when I was a baby, and were bunking at Grandpa's place. :)       She practically semi-raised me up from infant til age 2 year old, and super duper dotes on me. (actually her entire family does).

According to mommy, I'll spent monday to friday over at Aunty's and mommy would pop by every night after dinner/work to play and spend time with me.
I'll only be brought home for the weekends.

My daily routine over at aunty's goes alot like this (so they tell me)
Breakfast, lunch and dinner - she cooks really yummy stuff!
Play time and nap.
Evening - mobile ice-cream man with the umbrella + motorbike will sound his bell, and I'll head down with Aunty's husband for my daily icecream session, and also take a walk round the estate and sit on as many kiddie rides as I fancy (omg, writing this, I sound like a dog on my daily walk..)

The kiddy ride machines look somewhat like this and other variety to boot...

Mom reckons that looking after me was a loss/lose type of business for her, coz they had to invest so much money in daily icecream and countless kiddy rides.

She also claims that the #spoiltbrat part started from Aunty's place, coz whenever she brings me home for the weekend (just right across the street), the lift home had a couple of kiddy rides guarding the lift entrance as if they were chinese lion statues guarding the left and right of entrances.

It is impossible to avoid the kiddy ride, and I'll like refuse to budge until mom pays the "toll fee" for my ride before we could set foot into the lift landing.
I guess it was a *rolls eyes* and mutters "Again?!" +  fhl encounter every week.
 *laughs*
--

Legend has it that when Mommy and Daddy finally could afford to get a place of their own + the maid, Aunty cried alot while she was packing my stuff up.  :(((

I guess it was because I was the first kiddo she took care of, and so we both are somewhat emotionally attached to each other...

Good thing was, Gramp's house is just a street away right?
I still get to visit her weekly whenever we head over to grandpa's place for dinner and stuff.
That's like how I know she cooks really yummy stuff.

I even had my own set of kids cutlery reserved and kept in the cupboard - mini chopsticks (I could chopstick my food at age 2plus/3 years old ok!), fork, spoon, my own kiddo plate, cups, toys and even stayed over a couple of time.

Every festive season = special home made food.
Like tins and tins of  homemade loveletter crackers for Chinese new year to bring home.
and a whole bundle of rice dumplings made from scratch during dumpling festival, and it was truly Aunty's influence that I really liked to eat the plain rice dumplings (no one at home really fancies it), and I get a whole bunch of it for myself *beams*
I'll dunk it with brown sugar, or home-made kaya that she makes for me
and the meaty dumpling ones was to be shared with the entire family.

Aunty's prawn fritters and pophiahs are also to die for. :)

With age catching up, Aunty rarely cooks up a storm in the kitchen now.
All the yummy food requires too much work. : /
Oh well.

Without fail, I'll visit Auntie every chinese new year, and she attends every birthday party that my parents planned for me, and even my 21st birthday!

its funny how she's like a grandma to me... nags at me whenever she see me.
Tells me annually how I'm too skinny, Have to eat more, why are my hands feel so clammy - am I unwell, when I took pictures with her at Kenny's wedding.
Says it's ok to rot at home, when I left my job last year - good to take a break.
Nags about when am I going to get married, that my future husband to be has to be a good guy - and that I'll have to bring him to her place for a look see for approval and stuff like that.

I wanted her to attend my convocation when I graduated. But SIM gave me limited seatings, so I made do and gave her a picture of me in my graduation gown.

I love her to bits.
Today writing this post, I'm thankful that she loves me as if i'm her own.
I really am blessed to be loved and doted.
Thank you X love
