Boring week.

I spent the entire week busy with...
... ... ...
It's funny how I cannot seem to recall what I did, but yet managed to feel so exhausted!
This terrible lifestyle is taking a toil on my skin.

I'm doing some restoration work to the face, as I post this entry - while waiting for the pearl mask to do its job.

Anyway, I dug around and found random pictures in my phone to help recall.

Sunday
Found pictures of this Shattered glass effect used on the partition at Waraku's casual dining place located at Marina Square.
I like it that the shattered glass glistens under the spotlight, creating a pretty but cozy ambience.
I took that picture, while waiting for the Sister to arrive, and because the mother was hogging the menu. *yawn*
I dont usually have the habit of capturing my food, hence...
there is none. Lol.

Thursday

I only remember meeting up with the boys and girls for dinner on thursday - coz I insisted on having dinner at Fika, on the recommendation of this Swedish guy I met some time back?
Meatballs were pretty good - sorry i was too hungry to take pictures, and the staff was friendly - very helpful with their recommendations.
In anycase, I chose the ramadan buffet, so the food layout was zero, with massive servings that I piled onto my plate.
I reckon I'll probably drop by again to try their Tea time stuff - desserts looked nice.

Saturday
Mom woke me up today to ask me if this tiny thingie belongs to me.
She claims that she picked it up in my toilet.
I peered, peeped and stared at the tiny gun with o_O eyes, because I've never seen it before!

*frowns*
It looks like I could use it to accessorize my Barbie's Lara croft / G.I Jane inspired outfit.

After 2 minutes of logical considerations, I reckon it's the brother's - from his Gundam collection or something, and somehow, somewhat, the weapon fell through his side of the door to our connecting toilet, and ended up in the toilet?

It is still weird, because I patter in and out of the toilet many times a day, and as of before bedtime... I DID NOT SEE IT.

Valda started the "it's the ghost month you know...." and I nearly flipped.
Somemore Saturday's supposedly the 15th - which is when the ghostly energy is at its strongest...
GG

Interrogated the brother during dinner with a picture of the toy, and he said it is not his, but it might be from his room....
I gave him the exasperated look, how can he not know right?!
Mystery unsolved.
I hope the ghost had fun with the mini gun.

Earlier in the evening, the mother took FOREVER to leave home.
I had time to capture lots of pictures of myself, and still pause in between to cater to her random demands of "close the window", "I need water"...blah.

Attempted to give a rabbit face.
#Fail

One normal face to undo that retarded rabbit face picture.

The woman also imposed a no high heels allowed rule  when we left house - so that she can wear her pumps out. #Brat
Walking around town in flipflops is quite a sad feeling.
Legs upwards - well done. Legs down, flip flops. Fail.
Good start, bad ending.

But I made her sprint for the bus, so I guess we're square. Lalala...

I never thought i'll ever need to do fridge shopping, but a girl's gotta do what she has to do right?

Set foot into the Best denki located at Takashimay, ( because I wanted to eat Sour Sally and Ayam Penyat Ikan lele penyat at Lucky.)
and the first fridge I saw was Samsung's starry night!
Okay, im not sure what its actual name is, but I decided to call it the Starry midnight fridge!
It's gorgeous!
With an equally brow raising price to boot!
$4999.  Frigging 5k can?!
The starry crystals will light up, whenever you open the fridge door tho.
and rose gold handles + more crystals embedded within the handle, not forgetting a special compartment for champagne.

The mother scoffed at the pretty fridge;s price and went on with life.

Many fridges later, I realized that technology hasn't surpassed itself for the past  decade.
 :(
It's still water and ice dispenser at the moment.

None of the fridge has the ability to dispense frozen yoghurt, or Macdonald's icecream yet!
Wehhh....

Shortlisted a couple of normal looking fridge at a fraction of the Starry night fridge price, and perhaps I'll drop by at Nicky's tomorrow for good measure, just to see if he's got a better deal available at his side.

Last picture for tonight - one of myself with my eye patch for the terrible looking eyes.

It's been a good 3 weeks, and I'm still looking very tanned from Tibet.
I've been doing my utmost best in my sun avoidance, and I still look like a Somalian.
WHY LIKE THAT?

Ok need to wash face and hunt for food.

The difference between wearing fake lashes and no lashes.

I worked on the etheral feel, with lots of gaussian blurring, and did this.
Read up on tutorial, grasp the basic idea, and fiddled about with layering to create this!
Quite pleased with it, but its still not there yet.
Hurhurhurhur.

Anyway,
Remember my previous post about wearing too much make up?
I reckon i'm on a posting streak at the moment!
Yay!
I'd thought that I shall do a little experiment, just to prove a point!
Here's a picture of me from this multi-purpose-in-one photo session that I did for the contact lens review in my previous entry.

Okay, so you're thinking aloud - what's so special about this picture again?!
If you look at it hard enough, one eye's got fake lash, and the other's Naked. Nekkid!
Lol.

Looks weird, yes.
I have fairly small eyes, asian styled + hidden eyelids, and I cannot help but notice that girls with similar sized eyes, have a tendency to pile on the fake lash - thinking that it would help to compensate for the lack of size.

Well hello!
Contrary to the usual beliefs, the eye without the lash actually look brighter and bigger (and I need to point out that there was no mascara involved in the nekkid eye.)

While the eye with the fake lash actually looked yes more defined, but the definition actually creates the illusion of smaller eyes, as it sort of created a "height limit", capping most of my eye away.

Need more proof?
See for yourself!
I placed the pictures side by one for comparison's sake!
Left is taken after i'm dressed up and ready to leave for Zouk, and left was me in mid preparation, still in my home flutter tee.
Same day, same hairstyle, same room okay?
:D

My review on the G&G A21 Brown Lens

I spent the entire night thronging through the world wide web looking for reivews for....
colored contact lens, and I realized that there is very little reviews around!
It's something so .... "duh", so everyday and I reckon it is taken for granted.

Therefore, as bimbo as it sounds - I shall be a good samaritan and donate my share of review.
So exciting right?

For starters, they look like....... this!
Blowing up the lens, they seem to look like alien embryo of sorts.

Right, so this is the pair of G&G that i've been wearing for the past...... 6 months?
It's got a very unimpressive name - A21 Brown lens.
Lol.

ITEM DETAILS
Weight: 0 kg, 100 grams
Stock: Stock available
Diameter : 14.0mm
Water Content : 38%
Base Curve : 8.6mm
Life Span : 1 year disposal - I dont usually wear my lens more than 6-8mths.

Every frigging picture that I've posted up this year, would most likely be the G&G.
(though on random days, I'll put on the dailies Freshlooks illuminate just for kicks, or for my initial trips to wavehouse - terrified that my lens will be flushed away - or so I thought.)

Here's a close up taken with flash just so that the color would be obvious enough for a look see.

Haha.
Initially I did not like this pair, because when viewed up close, my eyes resembles the plastic eyes that toy dolls usually have, and I thought the honey brown was too obvious.
After a bit of getting used to over the next few hours,
I actually grew to fancy this pair, because

1) the brown color warms my overall skin tone, making me look alittle less pasty and less "ice
    queen" (or so I think)

2) Comfort wise, I can last up to 12 hours with my lens on, without feeling any discomfort like
dry-ness, pinching of the eyeball. Comfort is very important!

Of course, the comfort level would be nothing like the monthly disposables from Acuvue
and friends, and my eyesballs falls on the slightly sensitive side, so what works for me is
just from my perspective.
Would need to stress that it's just my own preferences,

*I'll talk about the brands that made me bawled like a heart broken girl in abit...

3) the diameter of the lens is 14.0mm. Which in my humble opinion is just about the right size
    for my mini asian eyes.

I personally do not have large eyes, and therefore - wearing those hugeass dolly lens with 15mm diameter and more, will cause my eye whites to be totally non existent, making me  look just like Dobby, the house elf from Harry Potter.

I kid you not!
Look at the picture yourself!

Back to the lens, this pair looks decent from a "further" perspective, taken with flash.

Here's another, taken without flash in my room.

One more in natural daylight by the window.

Quite natural right?
Creates enough "warmth" in the eyes, coz some lens that I have previously worn, made my eyes look very dead.

I have my share of lens that felt very drying and had the eye pinching feeling.
Wearing them for anything more than 2 hours, and I'd totally be tearing madly, like a broken hearted girl.

Let me see if I could recall the ones that made me cry real badly / waste money.
(Are you kidding? Of course I could remember them la!
Lao niang have excellent memory for anything that hurt me bad. Hate to be bitten twice, you know? )

MAXI eyes - nearly died the minute I put them on.
5 minutes later, I cried.
1 hour of perserverance - and I felt like I was going blind.
Not sure if its Maxi eyes or Maxi BLIND!
So nope, no pictures of me in it AT ALL, chucked out and flushed into the loo.

That was the worst of the lot.

The rest felt drying, only after 4 hours.
Like the PM or Pro Mo Dolly lens.
I saved this pair for short outings during the weekend, for I could not survive with the PM pair in the office.
Aircon + prolonged staring at the computer was a tear worthy experience for my eyes.

I Bought the green ones, coz the model is damn chio!
It's equivalent to buying a dream!
Lol.
Totally  #inselfdenial.

In reality, it looks different when I put it on leh!
Weh.. :(

Managed to dig around in my Mac, and found an exceedingly rare picture of the green lens ( since I rarely wear it out)

I am guessing that the model in the picture was massively photoshopped, and that i'm extremely tanned by nature. #DENIAL again
Green color does not complement "chow tar" girls.
*sigh*

Interesting enough, Blue on the other hand - looks surprisingly refreshing on me!
But being a teeny bobber no more, I outgrew obvious and crazy colours, and have since stuck to brown.  (Been itching to try on pink or violet tho) :S

I actually have couple more to share, like the pair of Geo honey wings that prompted me to search for a replacement lens, and to post up this entry.
But I realized that this post is getting exceeding long.
Shall attempt to share another day.

Cheers!

Hello Kitty Watch!

Seriously, i'm in the midst of writing another post actually.
But I saw this on FB.
Now I need to write this, and eat Happy Meal to get the hello kitty watch.

Weh...
I swear it's Mac's evil plot to make me eat Macs, over and over again,
even tho I said i'll swear off Macs for a good couple of months after the Coke Glass Can saga.
Roar!

Look at it!
It's Madam Meow with RED BOW!
So Chio!

It's ♥! Over and over again!

It has to be a red kitty bow.
I know you guys are all sick and tired of me preeeeeeching about how my meow has to have
RED bow, Not pink, not gold, not any color.
RED Good.
Decided to change the color of the "Like" to red just for kicks!

Ok, I shall revert back to my other original post that I'm working on.

Contact lens review!
Just because I can't find much review/ pictures of people posting with pictures of them wearing their contact lens on the www.
I shall do my part.

KThxBye

Procrastination

I've been procrastinating.
I have tons of pictures waiting to be fixed and uploaded.

I'll open up photoshop, stare at the pictures, and then give up.
I told myself that I'd drop by Mosiac tonight for Social - didn't happen.
Something's wrong with me. Not sure what though.

But what I know for sure, is that it's too late to get bubble tea.
and that it's been friggin 10 bloody days, but the germ's still having a rave party in my throat.
Upset!

I need my sugar fix, but i'm too lazy to get them.
Predictably, I shall settle for Soft icecream from Macs once I get over inertia, since bubble tea's out.

Took a picture of my ice-creams last week.
one for the road, and the other one was kept for later in the night to randomly commemorate the end of july, and to cheer my throat up.

Yes I usually like my ice cream Topless and naked.
Woooo....~

Lol.
Strawberry taste like medicine sometimes,
hot fudge is sore throat inducing.
and I like to be special.
That's why.

Terrible sleep.

My sore throat isn't recovering.
Halp!

I know I've been tweeting non stop about my throat since Friday til now.
5 frigging days of sore throat.
You know how sad and ridiculous that is?

I keep complaining that my throat feels as if I've swallowed huge amount of glass shards.
It feels so raw and swollen that drinking/eating hurts.

I've "fasted" the entire day away, refusing to eat.
Weh..poor me.
Sick and still have to starve myself somemore.
Finally, I caved in and had icecream and bread to coat the sad throat and fill the very empty stomach up.

I barely slept the past few nights.
Sadly, for someone who always has the ability to fall asleep in a jiffy,
I am a terrible sleeper whenever I fall sick.

Perhaps the sleepy chemicals in my body would disappear the instance I fall ill?

No matter how I tried, I'll be jolted awake by the lack of oxygen (stuffy nose), or how subconsciously I'll hear gurgling noise produced from my phlegm or something from the sickly virus...that I'll jolt awake - feeling disgusted with myself.

Such a terrible plight to be sick.

It also did not help that a couple of hours before bedtime, I read an article that claims that sleeping too much will cause wrinkles.
Good grief.

You know, there are days when you will wake up with bed marks on your body and face - where the pressure caused by your body weight makes contact against the folds of your sheets for the entire night?

Yeah, apparently sleeping - with your face pressed on the cotton bedsheet helps your wrinkles to set in as you age.
The only way you can minimize or avoid it, would be to sleep with satin bedsheets, and/or by lying on your back when you sleep, so that your face avoids contact with the fold marks.

FML. I tried that and I was sleepless until 10am in the morning.
My standard sleep stance involves alot of cheek to pillow time, lying on my back gave me an air of despair - for I can't just stay stationary in one pose the entire night.

It's currently close to 5am, and I'm still sleepless.

My predicament makes me both sick and wrinkly.
Well done la.

Sigh

Wearing too much make up

Surfing through pictures on Facebook,
I notice that half my world puts on too much make up.

I'm not sure if the relation between age and make up is exponential.
But from the way I see it, yeah.

Fake lash check
Heavy eyeliners check
Heaps of face power check
Heaps of blusher check.

that's daily make up for work and normal meet up events.
I wonder what's available for special dress up events which requires heavier make up?
Probably will end up looking like my entry picture above.
Are you guilty of wearing too much make up?

Less is definitely more in this instance.
I'm all for vanity, dont get me wrong.

and i'm definitely guilty of piling on heaps of make up.
Refusing to leave house unless I have the full set of war paint piled onto my face, but seriously...

the heavy make up phase was mainly attributed to work and a little on salsa performance.
Spending almost an entire year working full time in Events after graduating, Make up was the necessary evil.
A job requirement, and also partly from the crowd that I mix with.
It all adds up into making me think more is always better.

After my encounter with bad skin a couple of years back, I repented!
Renounced on my make-up slathering lifestyle and use only the basic necessary.

I went through extremes, took apart everything that was applied onto my face, and slowly figure out what was the culprit that caused the breakout - which meant minimal skincare products and at some point, leaving home entirely with a naked face.

Prove that I went through a horrible horrible phase that even my mom refuse to acknowledge that her daughter looks so ugly.
Enlarged the picture for your viewing pleasure.

Boils and scars galore.
I swear I wanna dunk my face in acid, just so that the zits would erode away.

With that it was No concealer, No powder, NOTHING.
Just moisturizer and not even sun screen.
Awesomely ugly, but my skin eventually recovered. :)

I found out the cause of my outbreak - over exposure to sun, and guilty of applying body sunblock onto the face when I was in Bali. (I ran out of my sunblock for the face!)
Major fucked up mistake.
--

Presently, I still have remnants of fake lashes. a drawer full of it, and they are usually reserved for occasions like night weddings or photoshoots.
Same goes for face powder, only when necessary.
I learnt that it is important to let my pores breathe.

So what does Miss "minimal make up" advocate, now use before heading out?

Basic Skincare
BB cream *which I usually skip unless I'm heading out for some major sun
Concealer for the under eye
Gel Eyeliner for the lids
Pencil eyeliner for the bottom / or eyeshadow
Eyeshadow *depending on mood
Eyebrow pencil
Blusher

No mascara, no smoky eye, no fake lash, no primer, no powder, no bronzer.
As natural as possible.
After all, make up is used to enhance our features, not create a mask where no one would recognize you without it.

My Typical daily make up

You will look beautiful, so long as you feel beautiful.
Even without make up. (Just because I know how much uglier I could be, if I dont take good care of my skin)

Lol
Yes colorless and pale face with beady eyes.
I KNOW ok - i'm not oblivious to my very asian features.
Blah.

Cheers!

Bangkok - June

In a blink, July is ending.
There is so many things yet to be accomplished on my end.
Seems like there is so little time, and a very lazy Daphne.
Since I'm sick, sleepless, and restless - I'll just spam lots of pictures from Bangkok.
The nice view of the airplane wing and the blue blue skies.
So fluffy and nice - the clouds!

Mam, in posing mode.
Bored...so need to entertain myself.
I swear there's like a thousand shot of myself..but I shall spare everyone the agonies of my narcissism!

Just one of myself in my Raybans, Lady Gaga Heartbeats and an extra touch of overexposed look to complete this picture!
and looking at my olive glitter nails, i have this urge to change my barbie pink + silver glitter reverse french manicure nails back to the boring olive glitter nails.
I know, i'm such a magpie - always ♥ glittery bling bling stuff.

Too many travelator at the airport, so was attempting panning shots to multi task.
But alas! travelator too slow. No panning feel - Fail.
Weh! :(

Haggled like mad with the Cab driver, who also tried to cheat me off extra charges and finally reached the Baiyoke Boutique Hotel.
The place is decent and holds up fine.

Like!
The funky pop up feel to the interior, but I might try another hotel the next round - just for variety's sake!
I do love purple, but the purple in the room makes it alittle too dark for my liking.

The overall color scheme of the place reminds me of our local hotel Re! or something like that.

There is nothing much to scream about toilet wise, so... we move on to other entertaining stuff...like that very huge fish tank I spotted when I wandered past the food court at Siam Paragon.
Wha!

I reckon that it would be rather therapeutic to dine with the fishes.

you know how I've always wanted to be a pretty mermaid swimming away with my scallop seashell bikini and a flower on my head, with the rest of my hair trailing prettily as I swim away..
sorry, dont puke.

anyway, fish tank food court was not my dining destination, for I had a meeting with .....

Mr Cruise!
Could not keep him waiting, and I doubt he really wanted to eat in the food court with the fishes, or be part of my mermaid fantasies..

We ventured off and dined in this BBQ restaurant at MBK instead.
It's been a month, and the name of the place eludes me at this moment... it has a green dino on its signage, if it helps!

Picture of my new "Vivienne Westwood" inspired ring that I got for a hundred Baht by the street.
Taken while waiting for my food to be served.

Lalalalal!
My fingers look scarily scaly in the close up shot.
I think I need to remember to moisturize myself daily.
Nice ring anyway.
Stares at ring.

Om nom nom time!
Guess what's this?

Looks like Mekajiki sashimi from a far right?!
Ans: It's Lard, not sword fish sashimi. :(

Fats from Mr pork, used to grease the BBQ pot. Amazing huh?
I forgot to BBQ the left over lard to noms... just like how they usually deep fry these yummy things and garnish them along with my mee pok!

Condiment platter...
I had to mix them all into a bowl of sauce.

which ended up looking like this!

Of course I squished the lime into my sauce, not dump the entire wedge into it la!
The chopped up chilli is quite potent in a mild way...and did not do wonders to my toilet time, as claimed/forewarned  :(

Guess our stomachs run on different OS!
I practically drank up the sauce - coz I dipped all my BBQ food into it.

* I swear I constipate whenever I travel. Whyyyyyyyyyy!
I hate running around overseas feeling clogged up and FAT,

Next we have the Garlic fried rice.
Looking at the garlic chunks now, is making me rather hungry.
Meh!

Miso Pork.
Not helping with the hunger pangs at the moment...

Close up.
Appetite suppresent - Not!

the Pre greased BBQ Pan, with some soup stock at the bottom.

Beef I think?
I was too engrossed with eating to bother about what's what.

So I shall introduce this platter as Sliced Meat with jappy fish cake, shrimp, squid and chicken.

The squid did not look very appetizing to me, so I skipped them entirely.

Scallops!
They look fine...but tasted urgh when I BBQ-ed them.
they taste nothing like the ones served in Sushi Tei. :(
No sweet, Succulent taste.

I finished them anyway.

I tweeted the other night that my stomach could possibly be hiding some parasite worm the size of Naigini the snake from Harry Potter. Hahahha.
Forever hungry!
Kidding.
No Naigini please, if not I'll have an uber sized tummy just to contain the snake.
Not nice, wont be able to fit into alot of my clothes.

The beef noodles at Platinum foodcourt is rather yummy.
Salty. But yummy.
Gawked at the lady before me who was dumping insane amount of condiments into her soup.
Seriously... Heaps of Sugar, Chilli flakes and Fish sauce!
Wonder how her Kidneys managed with such heavy workload all these while..

Also Ate Mac Ds while I was there, and got a Kung Fu panda, collectible Po cup!
He's cute and very helpful.

Attempted to charge my phone and the weight of my charger was too much for the plug to bear.

Found something useful for Po to do.
Used him to prop up my charger lo.
Hoik!

Po to my rescue ok!
He had to face the wall the entire night while my phone charged on.
Feel alittle bad for the hero.

Bunny ears that I've acquired from MBK!
Bought them in Pink, Peach, Red and purple!
I believe I was wearing the peach one out in this picture.
*beams*

Look at my baby Po cup.
I ate Mac Ds' Samurai Pork burger to get both cups.
Luckily it's yummy and unavailable in Singapore.
Since I'm hungry now....
Thinking about the Samurai pork burger makes me sad.

On my last night.
I went to this Bbq place to eat beef.
Everything was beef there.
It's yummier than the first BBQ place by comparison.

It was beef heaven! Beef parts, Beef chunks, Beef slices.
You know, various cuts of the cow and its innards.
Super duper yummy!
What you see in the picture, is just the tip of the iceberg.

I seriously do not remember which cuts I've had for dinner, for i relied solely on staff recommendation to send the meat over.
I dont speak Thai, neither do they spea-ker goooder ink-ker-lish (speak good english).

There was this chunk/cube of beef that was superb - coz the chunk cubes was meatier than slices, and I attempted to do a medium rare - medium well doneness on it.
Good stuff!
By then I was too oily and totally into my food to want to snap more pictures.
It's seriously all raw meat anyway.
I ate up like a hungry lion would devour its hearty meal.
I love beef
Biiiifff!
Ok, you get the picture.

Name of the restaurant?
You figure out yourself ya?
Hahahah.

That's about all the picture I have to share.
Next up, Tibet!
Not sure when though!
