It has been a really long time since i last bummed around at home for the entire day without setting 1 foot out of home!
It's stifling boring for me to do NOTHING at all, and for that i cried buckets - because boredom drove me to watch the telly, and it had to be the channel with that donation charity thingie to raise funds for the SzeChuan earthquake fund relief. Oh My God, so much unnecessary suffering on their part, and tears on mine.
The poor kids, and all that raised hopes, praying hard that it wouldnt be their child/parent(s)/relative etc dead. Sigh.... it brought out the emo side of me. *sniff*
*
Emo telly programs aside, i have been really busy with work work work and work, and haven't really had much time to enjoy my holiday, and except for a little short imprompt trip to Kuala Lumpur with Quacks. We were both bored, and next thing you know, we were making our way to KL! Woots! From an elated fries chewing, cheeseburger munching Daphne.... to a bored and sleepy Daphne.
We had such a hard time locating our Hotel when we got to KL, because the GPS and road maps reflected a different road direction from the traffic. After several rounds of circling round the town area, we finally arrived at the Ritz Carlton!
The hotel made me a happy girl, because i love their eye for details! There's the ipod console for me to plug my Nano into, the pretty shower bottles, and on day 2, i was greeted with little cakes after i was done with shopping, and .. i think i should stop rattling on about the minute stuff.. *smiles*
Quacks was impressed with their dustbin - he seriously thought that they employed someone to draw their dustbin -_-" , of which it sparked a little joke from me which goes along the lines of - "Hi, my name is Daphne, and i am a dustbin designer. i draw lions on dustbins all day long! " Hahahhhaha
No offence, Quacks!
We headed over to Pavillion, situated near the Ritz for a short look see, and settled for Tony Romas for dinner. We were ravenous and decided to order salad to share, soup, combo set of ribs and a choice of another meat each.
When the salad arrived......
But we attacked the salad fervently anyway, and i think we did quite a good job eating it.
The soup of the day was wonderful, some clear beef broth, and i ordered ribs with steak, and Quacks ribs with chicken i think, and i played quite abit with their different sauces.
Too hungry to take pictures, and its not like there isnt a Tony Romas in Singapore right?
Day2 Was all prepped up for some real shoppping in KL, but after scouring Times square and Sungei Wang, it was a fruitless attempt, my loot amounted to a pair of socks, and a bag. So much for all that exclaimation of KL being a shopping haven. Cheat my feelings man!
All that i spent shopping is barely 1/8 of my average shopping trip in Singapore! How bad can is THAT?
We then ventured into the Amusement park, and for something as promising as its shopping, the roller coaster was about all the excitement that they have to offer. The rest of the rides were just sick - twirling you round and round up and down is not my definition of thrilling, neither is hanging you upside down tilting left to right. It's just creating funny blood flow and stiff neck, not Adrenaline. Gah! i want a refund of RM60! That's us before that rollercoaster ride! The screams that we heard were prerecorded -_-"
Kinda funny to see one lonely burly man sitting on the ride, and the entire ride was filled with girlie screams - it is highly impossible for the burly man to be screaming like a girl, and also highly unlikely for the screams to always be sounding the same right? It is kinda spooky, if u ask me! *shudders when imagination gets carried away*
Our sad attempts in "budget" dinner landed us in the Chicken Rice Shop!
The grilled butter chicken combo meal is nice! I enjoyed the Kuay Pie Tee, the butter chicken and the mango salad! Yums! The soy sauce chicken not so good though..
Day 3
We packed up and cam whored alittle before we bade the Ritz Goodbye, and did some last minute venture over to the KLCC, LOT 10 and Pavillion, before heading back to Singapore.
We had a go at the LRT/MRT in KL, and went over to Kuala Lumpur Convention Center for a look see. The journey back from KLCC to the Ritz to get the car was alittle tedious, after the novelty of taking the LRT and MRT wore off. Because of my JB incident, and Zoe's version of her KL experience, i swore off cabbing in KL for my safety. Just call me paranoid if you have to.
I said hello to Juicy Couture at Pavillion!
Did i ever mention that the name Starhill is pretty? We pass by the entire Starhill area whenever we leave/go back to the hotel. Yays!
Jackie Chan's cafe in Lot 10 - love the comfy looking sofas with the funky attached table! If i have a big house, my living room would look just like it!
(Err, at least until i get bored of it, then i'll renovate again!
I figure that if i were to be able to afford such swanky amount of space in my home, i should be able to afford a frequent renovation everytime i get bored of my furnitures... and that would also includes owning an additional weekend getaway house - for me to escape the noise that renovations usually generates! I bet my "neighbours" would hate me in future if i were ever THAT RICH!) Hahahhaa
Apparently while i was asleep on the journey home, the speedometer maxed out. Gah!
End of entry! Ciao!
