South East Asia Aquarium - Resorts World Sentoa

Headed over to the newly opened South East Asia (SEA) Aquarium today, and had a lovely day!

This was what greeted me, when I entered the place.
Hugeass Chinese looking ship!
Rwar!

The other side of the junk ship reminded me alot of Noah's ark. Heheheh.
I wasn't expecting this, actually.

Enough of the touristy talk, and back to the aquarium.
Ima a happy mermaid when I saw this. It felt like I was back home!
Just look at all the layers a mermaid could perch on, when idling!
Pretty or what?

I took tons of pictures today, and these are just a few of my favourites.
Sharing them in no particularly order.
Everything shown here, is fully taken by the iphone 4s, and edited with photoapps.
Here we go!

I found this one extremely blissful.
It's actually 2 different school of fishes swimming in harmony.
The bubble looking school is made up of really tiny fishes.
The picture does no justice to this, so I actually took a video of the entire hugeass aquarium.
I spent the longest time there, just absorbing the serenity (Minus those stupid yelling kids, it'll have been totally perfect)
I'll load up the video another day, it's a patience testing thing (youtube loading)
It's very much similar to the video I've posted here back in november 18 2010.

Did I mention that this aquarium is mother big! Probably the size of a football stadium or larger!

This is my favourite giant fish.
I named him Dumbo.
He gives me the weirdest silliest stares whenever he swims past me.

This is Mr giant fish. Look how huge he is, next to us humans.
He's taller and fatter than me physically.
Wow wee.
There were leopard sharks, leopard stingrays etc and I seriously tried to capture a good shot of them. But they'll come in later from the other camera.
But looking at the way i'm procastinating...anything that comes from the real camera, probably would never surface.
Hahaha.
Ok, back to the Fishplayground!

Now that i'm done gawking about the sheer size of the hugeass fish playground, let me start prattling on the pretty subtanks that I visited.
I am in love with this coral reef garden.
The pastel colors is just amazing.
I want to be a mermaid sometime please!
Sit on an oyster shell, wear some pearls and scallops, and just idle around looking pretty with my pet starfish and crab.

I have no idea what the Seahorsey is doing.
Cute little fella looks like he's smooching the rocks.
But actually most of them were clinging onto the coral with their tails, so that they will not drift away.
How annoying!

After many tanks later, this was the only starfish I met.
I thought to myself, Oh dear! Skinny and unimpressive he is, but I should capture a proper picture of this lad though.
Starfish seems to be an unlikely resident here.
Poor anorexic starfish.
Blah..

Next thing I know, I met the real deal!
Look at how fat this squiggly thingie is!
Now, this is what starfishes should look like!

It's also a petting tank.

The starkeeper told me to stroke the fella gently, and the silly little thing curled itself up rather cutely in response to my touch!
Starkeeper says that it likes me.
Yay!
#NaturalStarfishCharmer
See I told you they're gonna be my water pets, if I'm ever going to be a mermaid.

More coral looking things.
The colors and settings is soooooo pretty.
I couldn't resist.

I was taking a picture of the tank when I captured this and thought to myself.
Huh...what fish is that?!
Sheesh! It's a float-away-brush. It surfaced for some air shortly, about 5 seconds after this picture.
This shot is 95% good luck and 5% quick reaction.
Epic to see a brush floating by for display.
Hahahha.

Oh in case you were wondering, the fishes thought it was something munch worthy.

Another pretty coral setting.
You know just before you catch a movie, there is the THX sound test with lots of metallic looking plants?
This one is probably the underwater version, if there ever was one.

More corals. I'm in love with them!
I'm ok about the fishes. but corals are like Wow! Wee!
People go in there to look at fishes, and there I am gazing at the fish's landscapes.
#nutcase

I just like how gorgeous it looks, with tiny little pearls or babys breathe embedded on the surface swaying to the rhythm of the ocean.

This, reminds me of Dim Sum.
Braised Chicken / phoenix foot, sticking out in all directions.
New presentation perhaps?

Ok! Some fishes.
But it was the sea urchins that fascinated me.
They look violently cute, sitting in the tank.
Like some vandalized punk sort of fish tank.

You get what I mean right?
If you don't, it's fine. Just appreciate the pictorial whatever then.

Last one of the urchin.
Looks so cute together with the black starfish.
I'm not sure what the both of them are doing, but being so black and punk. they look illegally cute sitting in a corner, with black sand and all.

Mom: Timmy! Stop digging your nose!
Timmy: I dont care mom! It's my nose, I shall dig all I like.

Meet Timmy the nose digging crab.
I decided that Timmy seems like a suitable nose digging name. (No offence)

There's act cute Daphne, attempting to take a picture with the giant fishes.
Guess what?
Nothing showed up.
Rwar!

Sea Jellies.
While staring at them, I kept thinking of a nice cup of dessert made of sea jellies.
Imagine my bubble tea order underwater...
milk tea please, with sea jellies, and 50% sugar.
Thank you.

The sea jellies seriously reminds me of a mangosteen.

-- Ok the end for now --

Ps: In case you're wondering.
It took me about 5 hours to wander around leisurely, sit at the little water dome area to enjoy the mother huge aquarium, immersing myself into a make believe world of peace and bliss.

A short tea break, no toilet breaks, and no, the highly controversial and "hated" dolphins aren't ready for viewing yet.

I like it that it's rather empty today.

Bus Strike

I seriously wasn't aware of the Bus strike occurrence, until 5 minutes ago.
I know i'm uber ignorant for a Singaporean.

Anyway, I was reading Mr Brown's entry on alternate names for a Bus Driver Strike, and I found it hilarious.
Lifting it off wholesale just for shares and a good laugh!
---

Since the mainstream media seems very reluctant to call a strike a strike, I asked my Twitter followers for alternative names to call a #busstrike:

Pasta mania delivery

Staggered home, crashed in bed and skipped dinner.

Contemplated skipping dinner, but I'm one the verge of gastric attack the past few days.
Can't wing it, so....
Here I am, attempting pasta mania delivery for the first time ever, and eating my dinner at 3 in the morning.
Creamy chicken pasta is too heavy for someone who just woke up.

Make up hauls

I realized that I am alot more excitable about Black Friday 2012, as compared to 2011's.
Looking at my previous post It's almost as if i'm Bi-polar!

I didnt buy as much as I've anticipated.
Would have love to camp at home in the comfort of my pajammies, hiding from the cold pouring rain and all. But nope!

Busy busy busy!
Braved the rain, went out and saved the wallet!
I ended up buying stuff from Luxola because they were on 30% discount, and a couple of dresses on threadtheory - their clearance stuff happened to be the stuff I didn't mind buying from a long time ago, other wise, i'll usually not harp too much on clearance clothes (on account of sizing and color availability issues)

Since the start of Autumn/fall, I've sort of lost interest in clothes, and have been focusing on the face.
Buying up stuff like face mask, special miracle creams and now Make up palettes!

I've been contemplating about Urban Decay's NAKED PALETTE 1 for the longest time
But the last time I wanted to purchase it, Sephora was totally out of stock.
Just look at it!

So pretty! Velvet cover with gold prints.
It reminds me of a box of chocolate!
Opening up to look at the hues of brown doesn't help much either!
Rwar!

However, I settled for Too Faced's Naked eyes from Sephora instead.
Good thing is, their packaging is pretty irresistible as well. But the naked eye palette is completely naked, if you asked me, nothing like what the NAKED PALETTE would produce for the siren smoky eyes look
(well it would not make sense to buy 2 palettes for the same purpose right?)

So I thought I would purchase this set for my day look, and the NAKED PALETTE for the night look when the new stock arrives.
Well, I've never gotten about to buying it.
Hahah.

A year later, After gouging a hole off the Naked eyes palette, I decided that it's about time I embark on the pursuit of the naked palette again.

Here's how my naked eyes look before I started using them. :D

My personal favourite would be "Like a virgin".
I use it to create my daytime "smoky" look eyes, and the "birthday suit" is for the literally naked eye look, with just a layer of shimmer over the eyes.
I call them my daily staples.
It's autopilot application for me with this palette.
I realized that my make up techniques varies on the products that I'm using, so for as long as the Naked eye would exist as my favorite, I'm going to look the same every single day.
Wahahaha.

Ok back to the palette "In the buff" is a matte white color, and "pink cheeks" is a powery nude shade of pink good for highlighting purposes for the nose and cheeks on days where I feel vainer, and "satin sheets" is a golden rose tinge of shimmer that I mostly use of the inner corner of my eyes, because it makes me look yellower than I really need to if I use it wholesale without blending.

"Stiletto" is a matte shade of black, while "Lap Dance" is a shimmery shade of greyish purple. I would usually pair these 2 together for my night look, and occasionally dabble with "Unmentionables" a shade of semi matte gun metal grey just to work a dirtier look for a change.

I'll usually lug this set along with me, whenever I travel, just because it's versatile enough to bring me from day to night!

I'll do swatches another day for this, together with the new Sleek palettes, just for comparison sake ok!

---
I spoke to my 2 main make up gurus Audrey and Valda, and they gave me mixed reviews about the NAKED PALETTE.
Sure, we all love it, but when you look at the price and do a comparison with other available options....
It might not be quite the case.
Well, I was lucky that the day I met Valda, it was after her make up assignment.
She had this luggage full of makeup loots for me to check out for curiosity's sake!

Her top recommendation to me, would be Sleek's range.
High pigment, sleek packaging, blends really well and most importantly, it doesn't cake.
I dabbled with her eyeshadow palette, headed over to Sephora to test out the Naked Palette from Urban Decay, and decided that perhaps the Naked Palette is overated.

Okay, I admit that I'm still highly attracted to their very pretty packaging of rich velvet brown exterior casing, and the multitude of brown hues that reminds me of how yummy chocolates could be!
but! but! but!

I'm a good girl.
I bought like 4 items (with the help of the black friday deals) from Luxola, and still managed to beat the price of the NAKED PALETTE's retailling price.
It's such a steal, how can anyone resist? (I'm also very very glad that my pile of work has indirectly averted my attempts at the purchases )
Woo~

I was so excited, I actually called Valda to ask her if she's buying anything from the Black Friday sale.
Lol. She wasn't quite as excited, since her new purchases were just days before the Black Friday sale.
Oh well.

I'm pleased for sure!
Palette colors are supposed to look like this!
Sleek's Sunset palette looks mightily exciting!
I'm hoping that it would be my alternative to a more colourful day look, and definitely very useful for the approaching spring summer. My 2 favourite seasons of the year!

There's the Sleek Au Natural palette to reduce my Naked Palette itch.
These look yummy enough too, for a fraction of the price.
Lalala..
I've just got to wait for Wednesday for my new toys to arrive.
Can't wait!

Signing off now for the comforts of the bed.

xo,
Daphne the face paint lover.

New toy!

Went to Bugis (again) today to get costumes for coming event, and to find excuses to buy stuff!

Today's special would be my ribbit (ribbon+rabbit, geddit?) hair band.
I bought one in Navy and another in Maroon Red!
I liked it so much that I wore it immediately!

Claud says that my ribbit hairband attracted an insane number of stares, with the most envious stare award going to a 5 year old girl, who just had that "mommy! I want that" look.
Oops!

Okay.
*sniggers*

It's okay to act like a kid whenever the mood strikes a fancy.
On days that I have to dress my real age in too many days in a row, my mood would take a pendulum dip.
Looking stuffy and boring kills me.

If there's anything that I really learnt after all these years,
what matters most is what makes me happy!

Therefore, I dress to please (myself), and I guess that's where my magic lies.

*On a side note, I have no idea why my face seems to be gaining some pounds.
Fat cheeks is back? :(

xoxo

Empty Promises

I hate people who go against their promises.
If its going to be today. It'd better be today.
Not tomorrow or the day after, or the year after or whatever crap shit you can think of.

It's like a bad credit system that accumulates.

I'm never going to trust you again.
Please go away.

Dumb Ways to Die song

I saw this in my timeline on FB.
The song's called dumb ways to die!
The animation is soooooo cute!

It's kinda morbid, but my personal favourites will be
#11 the outerspace  dumbo
#12 clothes dryer hiding dumbo
# 14 Kidney seller dumbo
#15 Super glue dumbo

#le sigh

Listen to your heart

Filter out what the world wants from you.
Listen to what that voice within you is screaming to tell you.

Only when you learn to break away from the cycle, can you watch the charades of the world and rediscover your purpose in this universe.

I truly seek peace and happiness for one and for all.

So listen to your heart, when its calling for you.

New Transformer bag!

Guess who's gotten herself a new "transformer" 3 way bag?
picture credits goes to the shaky hands Mommy.

My bag works like a haversack, a sling bag, or just a side sling.
Rwar!

Bagbag! I finally found you after many months!
( I saw the original design online in some bag spree but hated the ugly zipper trims that came along with it)
If I haven't ranted before about my pet peeve...
I really detest cheapo looking trims. like some bear or special heart shaped looking thing to pass off as a zipper head, or gawdy button just to look "special".
I have default look of disgust whenever I spot one of them.

Love the price point, but hate their love for shitty ugly details.
It might be small, but i hate ugly zippers and buttons and friends.

So ima happy with the new bag with normal zippers!

New bag from Charles & Keith
Gold buttoned white shorts from Mango
Gold lurex cardigan from Esprit
Babydoll flare white top from South Haven

Random Daphne

I spent the entire Monday achieving nothing.
It's my unofficial self declared off day, and the longest duration I was awake for, was probably lunch time.

Sleep

Check email

Sleep

Lets Trixie out, laughed about food jokes, checked phones, emails and
orders Dominos Pizza ( I learn that if you order your food online, you get more food.
They gave me a box of onion rings for free. Oh Joy!)

Naps

Wakes up to receive pizza
Munch

Goes into sleep coma

Wakes up for dinner

Continues sleep coma
and now i'm up.

Like WIDE awake.

Now that i am wide awake, I'm not even sure why i am so tired anymore.
While asleep I dreamt about halloween, I was all dressed up in a vintage corpse bride outfit.
My mom went along for the party with a few friends/relatives/cousins. We got bored and we went to the supermarket (yeah still in my corpse bride outfit)
Returned back to my grandaunt's house to realize that there was a zombies attack!

I was super coward and hid in the car, while my mom went to fight them (wha..that's super brave of her), there were random friends and relative that I couldnt put a name to in my dream.

Warped dreams, puzzling and extremely illogical to decipher.

I'm now stuck between wanting to head out for some cakes and drinks, or to fall back asleep.
If only starbucks of coffeebean delivers, decision making would be darn easy!
---

On other news, my brain's learning curve seems to be surging.
I've never. Never written so much chinese in my life, save for all the compositions I was forced to submit back in school, and what i've written, over the past few months.

I 'm on QQ mobile when i'm out, and they usually type in Chinese to me, while I'll push my luck and reply in English.

I realize that multitasking skills does not apply when i'm on Chinese typing mode.
I cannot walk, cross road, eat, talk, shop, while i'm typing chinese. I need to drop what I'm doing, stand still, then type what I need to write, before I pick up everything and continue with life.

When I reply email in chinese, it usually takes me hours to accomplish a simple email.
No i'm not dating a chinese man for christ sake!
I'm just tracking the progress of my designer and giving approvals!

Seriously, for the potato that most people expect me to be, my chinese really isn't too bad at all!
It just requires some time for me to channel the inner 华文 goddess from within.

And when it gets tough... I get creative!

Over a seafood dinner in china.
I wanted scallops and I could not remember what they were called.
So I said "erm.. you know...the shellfish commonly depicted as Little mermaid's bikini..what's that called?"

Well she laughed and got what I was referring to.
Easy peasy. :D

---

The next random statement that is still ringing in my head would be a recent conversation between old friends that I've recently met.

I've been told that I've got a mind of my own.

Errps.

I'm not sure why it felt like an alien statement to me, to the point that i'm still pondering over it.

Yes, I am an opinionated girl.

Perhaps I've been raised to be one.
Perhaps innately I am one
Perhaps I want to be one, therefore I am constantly surrounded with people of similar frequencies..

Would life be different if I was raised a meek girl, instead of being such a hard personality?
Haha.

This i'll ponder over, and update another day...
And head back to bed.
I'll muster the courage to clobber up some zombies!

Skin toys!

I've been paying alittle more attention to my skin lately.
bought like an insane amount of "supplements" for my skin, all picked up from Watsons or Sasa.
In my world, they are called my new toys for the skin.
Perhaps you could say that Autumn and Winter clothes shopping hardly ever excite me, therefore I've shifted my attention to skin food instead!

Clockwise from Left to Right: There's the LEADERS gel eyemask and face mask - I seriously like the texture of their mask! , My beauty diary Arbutin face mask which made my face pale like a vampiress for a couple of hours, B.liv's off with those head serum for black heads (they're working hard to melt away my blackheads as I type this) , Loreal's youth code for the eyes (because the youth code for the skin did a pretty decent job at the moment, so I decided to try the eye version as well...)

The miraculous 2 step mask from my beauty Diary that I was raving about from my previous Cheng Du trip, I bought them all from the China Watsons, only to discover them at SASA Singapore.
Blah..
It was 35RMB for 4 packs, so I chose an assortment, just for variety's sake!

Next there's also some major love from Valda with the Lancome goodies!
I must have done something good, to deserve all this Lancome love.

Either that or God must have decided that my face is in some dire need of maintenance from being too lazy, and sent these goodies through Valda.
Hahahha.

Before Valda introduced the Hydra Zen moisturizer to me, I was living off various testers I got off the counter. I'm currently on Jar #2 of my Hydra Zen (yeah, after like 8 months..)
I've been told that most people would "consume" their moisturiser within 3 months (if used day and night) or 6 months (if specifically for day, or night only)
i'm 2 months off the average consistency in skin maintenance.
#oops
#BadDaphne

This is proof that I emptied the first jar!
Adi hand carried my second jar back from the airport, just because I told him that DFS's price is like $40 cheaper (I wondered to myself why I didn't buy it myself, when I exited the plane).
Nevermind.. the bestie accomplished what my brain couldn't registered back at the airport.

Back to my Lancome Hydra Zen Moisturizer,  I've been introduced to the Hydra Zen Neocalm gel
Valda told me that the entire Lancome Hydra zen series is pretty good for sensitive skin, and I've got nothing to complain about to date.

I like how it is being absorbed into my skin rather easily, without giving me a thick greasy feeling after application.
The face doesn't shine too much either. ( But 12hours later, it usually another story for most people! )

I'm done with beauty raves.
Let's head back to the frivolous wonders in life.
My kitty ears pullover hat from H&M.
Can't wait to wear them out to weather appropriate countries, therefore these pictures would suffice for now.
Winter soon please!

New ballerina flats in gold from Covet.
They were on sale!
I'm now terrified to scar the shoes, whenever I wear them. Which makes walking difficult and a paranoia experience for me.

The doggles & I, on a random night!

Oh and I have scumbag eyerings/eyebags.
This picture makes them super obvious.

Fake shorthair for the day when I went out for lunch with X

Ok the end.
Got to bounce back to vetting through 2013 Spring Summer stuff.
I'll be back!
Soon enough (at least)

Some well deserved sleep!

Laying in bed and thinking about the week that just flew by, i'll say that it's been a good weekend for me on hind sight. Despite the hectic work schedules and hiccups involved.

I'm super thankful that we survived the grueling work week and also managed to brave some very terrible stormy weather over the past few days,.

Ima catch some proper deserved sleep now and im gonna wake up feeling human.

Hey, Hi! Woof!

Woo~ it's Trixie Kitty Lee.
I was greeted by a terribly mangly tangly looking creature in the guise of Trixie when I set foot back home from the airport!

I spent some of my spare time, the past couple of days.
Attempting to detangle her coat of messy fur, and this is the end result!
Still extremely terribly yucky looking, but awesomely cute in my Kitty specs!

It's funny how her eyes looks extremely gorgeous hidden behind the glasses.
Awww my silly fur baby.

Trixie's been going about without a bath for slightly over 2 weeks, smelling like a Zoo!
I wanted to feed her today and realized that there's no more food for her.
Her daily meals was rudely disrupted, and I had to trek over to the Village to get her some from the petstore - as it was way too late to order delivery!

Poor neglected Trixie!
I'm trying my best to erm....make it up to her, like a guilty human should.
More treats, bigger portion of food, and more meals.

So far so good, but she's still looking like a bag of bones.
Skinny air at home maybe?
Hahaha.
