Of movies and songs

I'm one happy bunny today!
Lydia's back from London, for barely 3 hours, and I've managed to meet her over ice cream at Canele!
Ahhh i'm always so happy to see her!

She bought me a flowery little cute dress, and i promised her that i'll take a picture of the dress when i wear it out! Yippee!

Caught the movie He's just not that into you with somebody, after meeting Lydiaand it was a good movie!
There was plenty of scenes that got me cringing, every time the female in the story executes a dating faux paux!! Arggh!
I like the particular liner used in the movie:  Are you the exception, or are you the rule?
Kinda cool huh? Well well, cringing aside, the show got me thinking about life, dating, and all, but no conclusion is derived yet..  :)

However, the movie seems rather apt with my new song fixation,  Gotta be Somebody, by Nickelback.

The lyrics goes:

This time, I wonder what it feels like
To find the one in this life, the one we all dream of
But dreams just aren't enough
So I'll be waiting for the real thing, I'll know it by the feeling
The moment when we're meeting, will play out like a scene
Straight off the silver screen
So I'll be holding my own breath, right up 'til the end
Until that moment when, I find the one that I'll spend forever with

'Cause nobody wants to be the last one there
'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares
Someone to love with my life in their hands
There's gotta be somebody for me like that
'Cause nobody wants to do it on their own
And everyone wants to know they're not alone
There's somebody else that feels the same somewhere
There's gotta be somebody for me out there

Tonight, out on the street, out in the moonlight
And dammit this feels too right, it's just like déjà vu
Me standing here with you
So I'll be holding my own breath, could this be the end
Is it that moment when, I find the one that I'll spend forever with

'Cause nobody wants to be the last one there
'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares
Someone to love with my life in their hands
There's gotta be somebody for me like that
'Cause nobody wants to do it on their own
And everyone wants to know they're not alone
There's somebody else that feels the same somewhere
There's gotta be somebody for me out there

You can't give up, looking for a diamond in the rough
You never know, when it shows up, make sure you're holding on
'Cause it could be the one, the one you're waiting on
'Cause nobody wants to be the last one there
And everyone wants to feel like someone cares
Someone to love with my life in their hands
There's gotta be somebody for me, ohhh

Nobody wants to do it on their own
And everyone wants to know they're not alone
There's somebody else that feels the same somewhere
There's gotta be somebody for me out there

Happy Valentines!

Happy Belated Valentines day to all!
Close friends would know that i never have the habit of celebrating the 14th of February as a special day, but i did spend my saturday with my loved ones anyway!

Mommy was rather thrilled that both Da and I would be eating dinner home last Saturday, that she decided to cook a rather sumptuous (in comparison to her daily fare) family dinner for the night!
-
I also had a very pleasant surprise that kept me smiling the entire week!
A very pretty card that made its way into my hands!
I love love love the details!
Just wait until you take a look at the insides!
Here we go, presenting to you the face of a card!
If you look at it closely, it's definitely not a broken heart!  :)
The insides: a pretty pop out card!
So intricately carved, just looking at the handiwork alone, made me really excited!
After i was done admiring the handiwork, a thought of horror dawned upon me!
"OMG! My status as the paper art queen has been seriously undermined!"
I was reassured that the handmade card was purchased from "i dont know where shop, and that it was made by someone else". Phew!
Yes I love the card, just like how you thought i would like it,
and your excellent grasp of Daphne's gift ideology is rather commendable.
Thank you!

*oops, i didnt get you anything.

Marina Bay!

Somebody brought me out for lunch today, and this was the awesome view that i enjoyed while munching!
Love the green grass, and how it seems like the greenery would span forever - somewhat like an infinity pool.. only that we replace the water with  grass here, and i shall call it the infinity greens! Hahahaha!
Pity it was alittle hazy today, and that i've left my camera in the office, and i had to make do with the piteous camera from my phone ( i wasnt expecting to take pretty picture during lunch ma... despite the advance warnings that i would be brought to a cool place for lunch..)

Lunch definitely perked my mood, and would have been more awesome, if i was in a better state of appetite, as i sat around nibbling on the sandwich, stoning out and taking in the breeze.
There are definitely days where i hate being a female, and today's definitely one of those days.

Battling with a hideously huge pimple that emerged on my left cheek, and yet another one perched prettily on my nose, it's little wonder that i wake up feeling like a charming orgress.  zZzz.
 --
I found a retarded picture of me in my phone, taken a couple of days ago after Salsa (wait a minute! that'll be last friday then..)
My hair is undeniably getting in my way, and so i tied it up, while making my way home!  :p
I've been delaying my visits to the hairdresser for the longest time, and i've finally found time to drop by!
Haircut no longer comes with expressions of "Ta dah!", because i always look the same after emerging out from the salon.
Growing my hair long seems to take FOREVER!
I'll be needing one of those funky coloring session to liven up my boring hair soon.
and for good measure of progress ( in case you'd think that i've got retarded hair growth or something), i've found a picture of my hair length from slightly over a year ago!
Definitely the shortest haircut that i've gotten EVER!
A year from now, i will be looking forward to using my hair to decorate my armpits just to gross people out. Ewwwuu! (Now that's what i call working towards a goal!) Hahahaha!

Random things i'd do, to fend off boredom

With yet again too much time to kill in office,
I decided to flip my nano in accordance to the questions posted, just to see where it'll go.
The answers reflected looked pretty delightful to me, so i played along in here just to amuse myself,
for i refuse to partake in chain mails of any sorts, though i'll secretly think that the idiot who started the posting was horribly bored (possibly in a worst situation than me).

The instruction goes:

2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.

pix!e and scrabbles : the photoshoot

Pixie and scrabbles did a short photo shoot session not too long ago, and the pictures turned out to be so adorably cute that i can hardly resist the urge to post them up to share!
Pixie being her usual self, was the more photographer friendly of the 2, as she hardly moves around, unlike the very hyper and uncooperative bunny. It was a pity that the photographer did not capture pictures of the both of them chilling out together.
Here we go, the princess with her tropical flower headgear,   with a hawaii feel! :)
Pixie with her "hey kitty, i think you're  a tad heavy!" expression.
The stuffed toy line up..
Hey... we share similar body shape and features, Mr Wombat!
Wanna be friends? Pixie whispered.

She then proceeded to groom Mr Wombat who hails from Australia

Pixie's developed some sort of maternal instinct in her lately, where she'll happily groom and barber the fur of stuffed toys, and even the bunny, when he pops by her place for a short visit.
All that junk fur that she's ingested... it suddenly occurred to me that her long stint of bald patches could have been caused by her own barbering ( a cry of attention, an extension of boredom perhaps) , on the contrary to what the Vet at St James Animal Hospital suggested. To think of it, her bald patches were extended to her bottom half of her body, instead of being a whole bald pig!
Gah! Stupid pig!

I wondered if it was a mistake, not getting her a companion throughout these years? It's however too late to regret now, and i am rather sure that being used to having her own living space, she would not like sharing.

Mr scrabbles the Bunny has fattened up considerably since he set foot into the Lee household.
He came in scrawny, and wild, living off hamster food for months before we adopted him (according to Da's sob story for scrabbles), but look at him now!
He's grown into such a fine, fat mister!

black bunny vs toy bunny
He looks kinda cute and handsome, as contrasted by the cute little stuffed bunny on the left of the picture.
The stuffed toy line up..
I'd think that Scrabbles looks more toyish, as compared to pixie.
Not forgetting the very adorable white spot on his nose, and his very large, long lashed eyes.
He looks so...snobbily cute here..
and a disgruntled bunny who's upset when the photographer placed the stuffed kitty on him. Hah!
You have no idea how idiotic he used to be when we first adopted him.

1) The spoilt brat refused to eat proper bunny food when he first arrived, picking through the delicious hamster food that he's accustomed to,  and outrightly rejecting the bunny pellets that were discreetly mixed into his food bowl.

2) He'll dash around the house madly and bring the entire family on a "wild bunny" chase whenever we let him out of his cage compound.
By darting around, i'm referring to a scenario similar to playing rugby ~ only that our "rugby ball" dashes around by himself, and involving the sister, brother and myself in a wild bunny chase.
He'll "chiong" under the sofa, and loves hide in places where he's not easily detected - like how he'd conveniently slot himself into the shoe rack, until i thought quizzically about  spotting a furry shoe on the shoe rack..and other similar scenarios.

3) Aside from his mad dashing/hide and seek stint, he's got the violent tendency to nip Da and myself in tender area like my tummy and my inner thighs with his rather sharp bunny teeth whenever we try to carry or cuddle him.

Gosh, he was definitely one crazy, defiant bunny i tell you.
but look at him now, all fat, cuddly and tame.
He hopes around leisurely,  and he's happy to chomp his boring bunny food, especially so when it comes to japanese pet treats.  That's when he'll grab his pretzel stick in his mouth, and run off to a corner to enjoy his treat, as like how a dog would do so with a bone.
so cute!

Project Chilli Red

With too much time on our hands, Valda had this brilliant idea of sprucing up our work areas alittle, and i agreed!

We took pictures of our dreary walls before the makeover, and there you go, the patch of wall that i stare at, and my very messy desk! Hah!
According to mommy, and her 101 ideologies of her very messy kids - my mess spreads according to the given surface area. The bigger the table surface, my mess grows along with it.
Hurhurhuhru... now that i look at it, there might have been some truth to it.
zzZzz..back to office decoration pictures..

Valda had the initial idea of creating rainbow mural on her patch of wall.... and i added that we should have a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.... hahah!
However, after much brain storming later, we decided to make use of the company logo!
Therefore, Chilli Red Creations it shall be!
We printed lots of them, and Valda painstakingly stuck them onto the wall, as i assist in the printing, slicing, and adhesive operations! Yep, you're looking at a newly spruced up patch of Valda's wall!
Then there's mine, with me candidly in it, and my happy packet of Lays potato crisps!
Woots!
Everyone who walked over to our corner would gawk then laugh! :(
According to the comments received, the 2 bosses thought that it would have been wiser to repaint the wall before we stuck stuff onto the wall, while the other colleagues thought it reminded them of cafes and eatery, while others said it looks like Chinese new year decoration.

Ah well! We cant please everyone, can we?
As for myself, staring at the Chilli Red logo simply just makes me hungry, because it reminds me of food. Hur.

Daphne's Lunar New Year's movie rating

I welcomed the Lunar New Year with open arms, as public holidays and none working days are simply considered pure bliss to me, now that I'm working.
Despite that, nothing can deny me from slacking, lazing in bed for prolonged hours and just spending time doing nothing in particular (during the weekend, that is! )   :)
Lunar New Year celebrations are pretty uneventful as like it's previous years, with the exceptions of Da and I dressing up in similar Cheong sum on the first day of the new year.
Aside from that, i've spent the entire week watching movie after movie almost consecutively!

My movie list goes something like:

3) Underworld ~ the rise of the lycans

I would think that overall, Red Cliff was a good pick, and for laughing measures, Love matters works for me!

Mood: Cranky
I miss my very long CNY break! Not that work is horrible, but who in the right mind would say no to bumming right?
