Five days after..

It's approximately 5 days since I fell ill.

I'm coughing a good deal now.
The yucky wheezy phlegmy sort. And I'm already back at work!

Call it unperks, but I call it doing what I liked best.
Even when I'm sleeping, I'll think about what I can add on to the coming collection, colors, style, or one thing leads to another, one idea for the fashion, will help bring about another idea for the agency.

Taking a break from trend working.
Just took this picture, and am eating up my naked sundae, to get some sugar rush.
Lace bunny ears?

I hear you.
Yeah. I have a terrible habit of working pretty, even if its closer to bed time and all.

That keeps me from plonking into bed whenever I'm feeling lazy.

After all, the wise ladies dictates that one should never go to bed pretty with your makeup, gook and contact lens.
Aha!

Indeed.
I am wise.

Besides, no designers would ever like to work in a yucky environment.
The need to surround themselves with everything pretty, is extremely important.
Look at ugly stuff, you churn out ugly stuff.
Look at pretty stuff, you inspire yourself to churn out something even better.

Afterall, you never compare yourself with something worst off, at least I dont.
I always eye at the stuff on top, and enjoy what I have at the moment.
Look far, look high, and visualise the future.

Such is the way of life.

Updates

It's been at least a week since I last did a proper update.

Here's my galaxy glitter nails that I had before I flew off for China.

And this! Would be my current nails that I'm sporting.
Texture would be the keyword here.
Mattify, stickerfy and glitter foils.

Of course my color for this season would be denim, navy, blacks and more blues.

iisa design center..
I bought those alphabets from typo, and I was deciding on a place to keep those alphabets.

Fixing up the showroom.
In the mood for blues and black. This is for autumn! That leather jacket perched on the mannequin? I brought it back to SG with me.

Also dad received pictures for Les Affaires's opening at the Marina Bay Sands. This was the representation picture to mark my attendance.
Lol.

Fatty cat at my favorite convenience store, near the hotel/ office.
He usually lies on top of the ice cream counter to cool himself down.
Clever fatty!

Mei Mei with baby unique.
Like mother like son.

This would be a series of pictures that I took of unique doing various stuff.
This one first, would be unique dipping his face into the milk bowl.

Le sigh at that messy milk face.

When he was done with his milk, I tried taking pictures of his messy after milk face.
So much milk dribbles!

That was the look he gave when I tried to wipe his face.

Unique at daddy's place on the pile of hangers by the sofa.
He had so much fun pouncing on hangers. He even bite them.

Hachiko! My favorite boy!
With Sam Sam at the background.
They were both eyeing at unique from where they were. Making sure that the silly dumb dumb is ok.

Unique doing a series of cute til u'll say awwww poses on my lap.
New fortune cat beckons!

The amount of scratches one monster incurred.
Dad has the most.
Because the little monster turned 2 months old while I was in china, and he grew himself a set of itchy but sharp teeth to attack us!

Thats like enough of cats.
Most people live with one cat, and I have like 7 of them over in China. Tsk! The story will never end if I rattle on about them.

My pile of fabric selection for winter..and of course I've kept some for spring and summer!

My abused slippers.
I chucked them into the bin on the last day of my trip.
They've served me well. Especially all that typhoon inspired rain that I flipped through with these slippers.
Actually what I missed most, wash rain boots during that 6 days worth of continuous rain!

Legs that I'd only have when I look into the reflection on the train.
Lol.

Sick girl in transit

That's it. I'm officially ill.

It could have been the passing Typhoon, because it rained non stop for 6 days out of the 7 that I stayed in China. (ShenZhen is one of those places that was affected, weather wise)

It could have been daddy that passed his flu over, OR the insane amount of chips that I consumed while I was working in China.
There was this flavour called the little tomato from Lays.
Its got this teeny weeny bit of cooling taste after biting into it, which made junking really refreshing,

In fact, I wasn't intending to consume all that chips in the same trip, but Cat was evil.
she's got this terrible habit of helping herself to my stuff while asking me about it,
and she kept ripping open those chips that I bought and stored conscientiously like a squirrel hiding a nut for winter.
Luckily I'm usually very easy going with edibles.
Try me with my personal belongings, I might get really angry about it.

And the both of us hung out with the sick daddy alot because of baby kitty.
On the day before I flew back to Singapore, we both developed a sore throat.

I was feeling cold on the plane, that I wore a jacket and snuggle under a light weight scarf that I always bring along whenever I travel.
At this point to me, It still seem rather normal to be feeling cold, and pretty much so when I landed back in Singapore on Wednesday night/ Thursday morning.

It was helluva steamed up, sort of hot that I experienced whenever I'm in China.
The chinese from the southern origins, are really scared of the cold.
25 degrees airconditioning and they tell me that they're cold.
Pffftt.

To feel somewhat cold when I set foot into Singapore, It's sort of normal behaviour from me right, right?
Afterall, 7 days of freaking non air conditioned summer, it's definitely going to be coldish for me, when I set my foot back into the land of Airconditioning.
Confirm.

I woke up and met the girls for Japanese food at Sushi Tei on Thursday evening.
Because I was cold, the leather jacket that I brought back this trip became handy.
The jacket was supposed to serve me only when I head over to China for work during Autumn.
We aren't expecting Autumn until end October actually.

The next evening, I even replaced one of my girls at work because she was sick.
Wahhhh no fair, I'm sick too right! ( I thought about it in my head)
The unperks of managing your own business. No MC option.
Of course even Claud was out on the field to work as well.
I hate exams week!

Luckily for me, I'm usually the sort who gets absolutely unaffected by fever and flu and cough, albeit for the slight discomfort and inconvenience I felt + tons of additional sleep that I clock up.

Take today (saturday), Feverish and Fluish
I woke up for breakfast at Macs, and went back home to try out that 5 minutes slimming video that I watched earlier.
I fell asleep with my toes tied up, and hands stretched out. I'm not sure if it worked.

Firstly I was too lazy to dig out my measuring tape from the unpacked luggage.
Secondly I was feeling tired.
And so I fell asleep post breakfast in the most peculiar pose for awhile.

Woke up from my nap in a different position. I must have untied my toes while I was asleep!
4 hours is too long to be stuck in the same position, no?

I also decided that staying at home was boring, headed out for bubble tea and bought magazines and then took a bus home.

I'm usually the sort who'll stroll home, after all it's only about 1600 steps from home, but I decided that I didn't feel like strolling with the 4pm sun above my head when I'm feeling less than awesome.

I reached home.... And the mom decided that we shall head back to where I was from, for dinner. Now that the sun is sort of gone, we walked over for dinner and walked back home, with Thai Express settling well in the tummy post dinner.

This pretty much sums up the day of a sick girl with malfunctioning taste buds.
I kept eating to get rid of that bland taste lurking in my mouth.
Thai food was great for my taste bud.

I decided to sliced up some Japanese cucumber for me to munch.
Afterall, cucumbers are good for hydrating purposes, and i'm dehydrating so much through my nose.
For the first time ever!
Snacking on Japanese cucumber tasted bitter to me. No matter how much dip I ate up with the cucumbers, it tasted bitter like the bitter gourd to me.
I fed mom a slice, and she said the cucumbers were fine. Just the flu acting up. :(

Marks and spencer soup was terribly tasteless as well. :(

Just super glad that I'm rarely ill.
Maybe just like once a year?
My immune system deserves a holiday break, and I'll live with the inconvenience for now.

Night!

Moving on with purpose

Sleepless.
I've finally decided to try on my new of retainers, even though the old ones are still usable, despite looking wonky.

Having been somewhat disciplined with the teeth (since I'm obviously vain enough to go for braces, despite the fact that I actually do not need them to smile pretty, i figured that I might as well keep up with the hardwork!)
I try to wear them alternate nights, or at least twice a week!

Ermygawd, little did I know that swapping retainers would hurt so bad!

It's been too long since I last felt such crazy tightness for my tooth to hurt.
Retainers must be doing a secret Invisalign job at the moment.

Pardon me while I remain cranky until the tooth adjusts itself to the new position.
And I foresee light chewing for lunch later.

The title of this post is alittle off beat.
But yes, that tooth is moving along with a purpose, yes?  Lol

Actually I meant this.

And this.

Realigned my life purpose a little,
Decided to pack the room, clear away some mess, find resolution to pick up my projects in my head, and reach for the stars.
As I've always said, the sky's the limit!

Facial face

I braced myself up 2 week ago, and went for my once a year facial session at Adonis.
I really hate facial extractions.
They really love to squeeze the daylights off my pore.
I usually end up crying badly, with no exceptional fantastic skin after all that gruesome torture that I subject myself to.

But I doooooo have to say that I love everything else that comes with the session.
From the foot soak, to the relaxing facial +neck+shoulder+hand massage, tidy up my brows, and the nice smelling cooling mud clay face mask that they apply on me after raping my pores... I'm usually quite relaxed and ready to sleep, if it wasn't that one very painful segment, I'd have finish my package Long ago!
10 sessions utilised over 5 years.
I don't need to elaborate further.

My guess would be, my last session of thr package, would either be given away to a friend, or would be utilised by me next year.
Hohoho.

No difference right?
I thought so as well.
My down time is about the span of 1 night's sleep, as compared to what I'm currently accustomed to.
Zero downtime facials that doesn't hurt.
Rwar!!!

I'll settle for spa packages in future, since I prefer to be kneaded as if im some bread dough with oil, instead of feeling like a piece of overpicked chicken skin.

Dont get me wrong.
Facials are a necessary evil.
It's just that I'm just not very good with my pain threshold, as the mother always claims.
I'm a big baby, when it comes to hurting myself.
*princess syndrome*

---
Wore the new purple flip flops out!
Just bitched about a random girl's legs looking wonky in her pictures, and here I am, with my own wonky legs.
#KarmaTime

Waiting out my turn at Holland village.
Painless facials is the way to go.
This is bare faced Daphne before...

Barefaced Daphne after.
With the new padded spaghetti top that arrived at the door step in the morning.
They fit pretty well I must say.

There's also the cap to shield the face from the sun..

Sun shades in case I bump into friends, dashing strangers, or old enemies.
Lol
ok, and probably Clients too!
#The perks of living near a quaint and nice (but terribly crowded) area.

I totally agree!

Vain pot

The bestie went to Korea and asked if I wanted anything from kimchi land.
It was good that he did, because I was running out of my gel eye patches from the face shop. Stocking up in Singapore is quite dumb, because the retail price per piece is easily doubled.
I'm not sure if there is any price adjustment since...
it's $4.50: $2.20 (after conversion) a piece.

Might as well use the same amount of money, and double the dosage? No?

The current batches that I'm using are bought by X, and the new batches, by the bestie.
Yay!

I told him I needed to stock up on eye mask, and I thought, while he's at it, might as well stock up on the face masks as well, since they usually cost a dollar a piece.

I went home with 10 eye patch, 22 for the face, and a few bottles of essence for the face.
I amassed the eye patch, kept 12 face masks for myself and grew a conscience.
Passed the remaining 10 to the mother.

The inner control freak in me insist that all mask should be sorted out in size, brand and color, and In the midst of doing a stock count as I repacked my drawer, and and and and...

I realized that i have like 50 assorted face mask and 20 eye masks!

I did a quick calculation and assumed that if I'm really hard working in maintaining the discipline,  I'll use up 2 packs a week at best...

Which would be equivalent to using all the face mask in 25 weeks.
Since its already August, I won't be able to finish them up by the time 2013 ends!!!

Omg that's horrible!
I'm officially a facial mask hoarder that needs some proper facial schedule discipline!

In case you were wondering.
My usual concerns would be hydration and fairness (since i'm obsessed with my freckles, I usually hope and imagine that when I remove the mask, the freckles would magically disappear too! Alas they refused to budge, fade or disappear! )

My personal favourites would be the Naruko ones.
They are the nicest smelling + hydrating+ purse friendly mask that I've discovered and love to date. The mask is cut in a way where it comes with ear hooks, to prevent the mask from slipping off my face.
It's an awesome invention for an impatient girl like me.
It is my innate need to constantly be moving, scratching or playing games.
Lying still would just mean falling dead asleep, and it's just bad.

I'll usually also pack along a few mask whenever I fly, and they work wonders after a flight.
The air in China is bad, so I'll up the usage while I'm there.

My traveling skincare comprised mainly of drugstore priced skincare products, just because you'll never know when you'll meet a bitchzilla from Tiger airways, who will insist that I chuck something essential away from my bag, or claim that my check-in bag is overweight and dunno what nonsense they can think of.
Makes it less maddening for me, when my stuff goes into the bin, because I know that Watsons is just a cab ride away once I land in China!

Speaking of which, whenever I'm in China, the girls would love to ask me about my skincare and make up, and because I brought along the affordable ones, allowing them to play with my stuff makes it less painful for the control freak in me, and if they like it, they can usually just buy them off the shelves at Watsons!

I asked Daddy about why they are so curious about me, and he says its because the Chinese (in china), especially the youngster, have a tendency to idolize the western culture.
Therefore being in Singapore, I'm a closer semblance and a reflection of a more westernized influenced world, and coming from a different culture, which therefore makes me more interesting.

True or not, i'm not sure.

Bye July!

In a blink of the eye, July's passed.
Scrambled a series of pictures that I've taken just for random record's sake.
There are days for just about everything that I love about myself.
Sometimes its the outfit, sometimes its the make up, or the hair, or the color...

Oh you get it.

My first matte nails, albeit the messy paint job that I've given myself.
I've given myself glossy french tips for the contrast!
I reckon the matte finish will look gorgeous with a darker shade of color.
Audrey inspired!

Denim biker jacket from Megagamie, paired with Zara spag top, and Zara skorts
(Horrors of horrors! The entire Singapore bought the skorts at like 1/3 the retail price of Zara.)
But I comforted myself that there is a huge quality disparity, especially with the handfeel and fabric quality.
I ordered the cheap version in white (zara ran out of sizes for white), and the sides pilled into tiny cotton balls, after a day's outing.
*self comfort*

Midriff shirt and high waist shorts.
Im still in love with white!

With Trina! There are few people of my age group that I respect and look up to, and she's one of the rare few that's earned mine!
Of course, without her; I wouldn't be at where I am today.
It was good catching up with her at Linna's wedding!

Dressed up for Gary and Jac's wedding, and I decided to go along with the red lipstick.

Love for the day would be the coral nude shimmer that I coordinated.
I look like a dessert already.

And I stepped into Furla, and I saw bags!
It was the toughest decision ever, deciding between the brown minimalist one,

or the electric rocker chic blue.

2 extreme styles... such tough choice I had.
Until I met the rude sales girl.
I dumped both bags and walked off in a huff.
I dont deal with attitude problem too well.
The only attitude problem I'm able to accept readily, is my own.
Haha.

Attempted to give myself a fringe, and failed terribly.
I gave up the thoughts about cutting bangs.
As it is, I'm usually carded at clubs.
Getting fringe is like asking for unnecessary trouble + fat face!
:D

One of the rare days that I gave my hair a full up do.
Felt like a ballerina the entire day.
The funky version, that is.
:)

Rocking the glittery retro highwaist pants for clubbing.
I like the pants alot!
The sister said she was eyeing at the same pants in gold glitter!
I hope she buys it!

I'm in love with this furry bombom.
This is what she does whenever I'm home.
snuggly sleepy pooch.

Heading out for lunch on Sunday...
Brought my blue aviators out for a walk, since its been a long while...

got photobombed >:(

Robot is my new friend.

This is robot dog. o.O
posing with my korean loots.
Bestie bought me face stash, just because he was in Korea!
So loved!

NEW! Ribbon earrings for the ears.
They are the same as the starry ones that I bought with the mommy a couple of months ago.

New slippers!
To replace the infamous purple ones that died a horrible death.

This was what happened to my previous purple sequined slippers.
Guess who's the culprit that threw a confetti party?

According to the bestie, he said that I practically wore those purple slippers, everytime I appeared in school.
It was only true in his perception, since I always see him for salsa performance practises.
Slippers are convenient things to wear, since I have to change into the dance shoes right.
Anyway! They've been replaced. :D
