my birthday

Dinner at Shaslik the Russian restaurant

It's way past my birthday, and i've been too busy to blog once again. sheesh!
I'm thankful for all the birthday wishes that i've received from my friends and loved ones, and im truly grateful to know that i've not been forgotten!

I had dinner at Shaslik the Russian restaurant, and boo boo tried the escagots for his first time...just look at his silly expression that he's proudly posed for the camera! I had the safe and friendly onion soup, while he being more adventurous, tried the Borsch soup (beetroot soup! eek!) but they taste pretty good actually.

We had Steak for 2..and it has some russian name that i simply can't pronouce, and it's rather tender. The both of us were rather disappointed that the main chef was on MC, so we kinda missed out on their specialty - the Baked Alaska!
Boo!

Nevertheless, dinner's good, and we went over to the dollz inc at the wheelock to get my unazukin. This noddy little doll resembles a cross between a russian doll and an egg. They are soooooo CUTE! you ought to check them out! unazukin
They are voice activated, therefore, you're supposed to ask the little doll a question, and she'll nod of shake her head in response to your quetions!
Well, she's cute, but she's kinda costly for a little toy.. 15 bucks!
No regrets for me though, only wished that the shop brought more variety... the website had so much more!

Mine's the pink one with the rose buds!

We headed over to the night safari, and it's my first visit there, since it's opened 12 years ago. We sat on the tram ride, and after alittle while, boo and i felt comfy enough to sleep anytime...it's dark and our tummies are warm and comfy...yeps.

There wasn't any picture opportunity, as the safari kept reminding us that "the animals are night creatures, and they are sensitive to flashes" blahblahblah...so we didn't have any pictures at all, except for the night safari signboards. haha.
I was very very amused by the giant rodents, which were about the size of a baby calf! They are practically like giant hamsters! The little racoons and the tapir are adorable too!
The little badgers are so naughty, while they were performing at the animal show. They were supposed to do little tricks of throwing the cans into the recycling bins...but instead, it started fiddling around with the cans, refusing to let the cans go....
It's definitely a great experience, that could have been better, if only we could capture them on pictures!

I fancied the zebra rubbish bin, so i insisted on taking a picture with it. Zebras are just so pretty!

Updates!

At Bakerzin enjoying my Tapas with Zoe.

Time for short little updates!
I haven't been a good girl with waking up on time, as i seem to be suffering from "sleepy deaf ears" syndrome. Nothing seems to be able to wake me up recently.. Haha!

I had dinner with Zoe at Bakerzin's on Tuesday, after school. The tapas were great, and they were so nicely decorated that i actually hesitated eating them for a long time, before tucking in.
If you ask me, im still in sky high from the desserts!

Zoe had some cheesecake icecream with loads of berries toppings, that just looking at it, made my tooth hurts! But definitely tasted yummy too!
As usual we gossiped like mad, and the shops were nearly closed, when we were done with dinner.

In fact, just taking a look at the Bakerzin website, is enough to make your mouth water!

Anyone interested in treating me to a round of Tapas?

Linda & i in Zouk's toilet

I got my weekly fix of mambo yesterday, and it took me quite a huge effort to resist "lancing lancing" the whole of Wednesday. I finally succumb to the urges, and there i was! "Lancing around!"

Linda was there with me, and we had quite a blast hopping from Zouk to phuture, then back to Zouk, then Phuture again.
It was rather fun hanging out with Uncle Sean and the rest, over at members, and i love the little fiber optic light decorations! They look so pretty in the dark! I'll wanna do that when i have a little home of my own in future. Ha!

As for Thursday, my Boo brought me over to Raffle's house to collect the Hammies! They are sooo puny and cute! i took a total of 4 hammies, 2 for me, and 2 for Mich, and the puny ones look so sweet, when they snuggle up against each other when sleeping. *sigh*
I'll update pictures of the little hammies when i actually do find the time to load pictures up and blog again.

There's the dreaded Employment Relations assignment due on the 3rd March, and History of Management Thoughts literature Review that's due on the 7th or 8th March. And yet another Managment Accounting Test on the 14th March. I am so gonna be a grumpy girl til the 14th, and i'll definitely have those little swirls in the eyes, just like those characters in comics illustrations!

Bah! What a way to celebrate my birthday! Being busy with projects! Yucks!

yattle yattle!

Yes i know i've been gone for a really long time! Ha!
I'm alive, busy and very much alive and excited!!

So what have i been doing? Haha, I dont quite know where to start....
I've caught 6 fireworks in total! 5 in singapore, and 1 in malacca. Most fireworks viewing were planned by the boo, as for some, it was purely by chance that we passed by! I think the ones that were exhibited on the last day of CNY were the prettiest!
Mr Boo brought me to the spot where we could view it best! He's the sweetest, just to think of it!

We celebrated our 2nd year anniversary on the 13th, where we ate at this Korean place at the Heeren, then i went home and mugged for Managment Accounting test later in the night.

I sat for my test on the 14th morning, went home to pack my baggage, napped alittle, visited grandpa at the hospice for alittle while, then ate lunch, and left for malacca!
How exciting! A little roadtrip all by ourselves to celebrate our anniversary, and valentines day!
Whooppee!!

I enjoyed my little trip with boo alot, even though it was alittle short, and Malacca isn't the most exciting place on earth.
As expected, i wasn't very helpful with the road directions most of the time, and we ended up being rather lost while exploring the town area, but still managed to make our way to my apartment rather quickly.

We got lost again the second time, while exploring after dinner. We only managed to find our way back home after 2 hours!
We caught the fireworks, while we were playingthe game "master mind" in the room on the first night. It's a good view, coz the people over at Portugese settlement with the fireworks was just not too far away from the seaview from my place.

We hung out at Makohta Parade the next day and had Kenny Rogers for lunch. It's such a lip smacking experience! The chicken meat was so tender yet juicy that i couldn't have enough of it all, yet the ones available in Singapore is hopelessly tough, like you're chewing on wood. The boo did most of the shopping, and we headed home in the evening and took a nap, before waking up for dinner.

Alas! We were woken up by the pattering of the rain! As neither of us brought the umbrella along, we stayed home and settled for instant noodle that was meant to be supper! Luckily my sweetie had the foresight to bring along a few movies for entertainment, so we watched the Copse Bride by Tim Burton, while we ate dinner. It's entertaining, alittle morbid, but a nice ending nevertheless.

I superimposed us into the picture that we took for St pauls, coz it's impossible for the both of us to get pictures taken together, coz he's afraid that the locals would run away with my olympus. so silly but sweet, and i'll rather play safe too. Hee!

Our third day in Malacca, we did the tourist routine, and went exploring the St paul's church, the Stadturys, as well as to visit the 5 musuems around the red house area. Definitely enriching, historic and lots of stair climbing to do!

We walked alot, and got lost while hunting for the nonya restaurant that i recommended. Making the best out of the situation, we settled for some gui ling jelly in this herbal shop tt sells desserts, while i, chose the safe and friendly honey dew sago dessert!
Finally, we spotted the dinner place, when we were about to give up hunting.

So there we were, I guess the boy enjoyed the home made chendol best! Haha.

Being our last night in Malacca, we utilised our remaining time by exploring the town in the middle of the night, in search of any hopeful night life and supper place.
We chanced upon about 15-20 little motorbike coming together, about to start a race, just right in front of my place, i was rather amused to see that none were actually race bikes, but the typical ones with baskets attached in the front.

We drove around chinatown, in search of a particular chinese temple, and gave up trying after a few attempts.Ending my night with some duck noodles that's sold near my place, watching the Brothers grimm while enjoying our little supper.

Our last day there, we had lunch at this yummy shop that sells beef noodles, then went to explore the mini malaysia. It boast of having different architectural from the various malayan states, as well as ASEAN architecture. Definitely disappointing, as the place wasn't well maintained, and there wasn't much to seem as most of the houses was actually undergoing renovations. I felt so cheated, such a waste of time and money.

We reached Singapore in the evening on friday, and i'm never happier to see my beloved bed and pillows! But im sad that our little holiday had to end so quickly, coz coming back to Singapore, is like coming back to reality. It's such a dilema... the choice between the happy holiday and my beloved pillows! Sigh...
I hate to be reminded that i've got school tomorrow, and him having to work again.

I do hope that we'll be going on another trip soon.. it's just so addictive!

I woke up really late on saturday, to make up for all the lost sleep ( i've no idea why i was so tired, coz i clocked 10 hours a night while in malacca!), got dressed, snuck out for some icecream cakes at this place called the island ice-creamery at Serene Center! The cakes are just so pretty!!
I chose the muddy pie, and the Baked Alsaka to share with the boo, before rushing back home, to catch my ride for grampa's birthday dinner.

We had BBQ for dinner to celebrate grampa's and my birthday in advance. The prawns we had for for the night were HUGE! It's pointless for me to attempt to justify the size of the prawns coz you'll probably say that im exaggerating!
Hmpf! But i still want to!

The prawn was the size of the paper plate. Gawd, it's not some small paper plate, but the usual sized ones that most of us would use to hold our beehoon, curry and chickenwings. Yes, the prawn curled nicely onto that paperplate, and filled it up rather snugly. It's THAT HUGE!

After dinner, boo fetched me to Changi Aloha to attend Council's initiation chalet. Due to unforeseen circumstances, he had to wait at my home's lobby, until i got home, before sending me over to Changi. It was already 11 when i reached there. I felt really bad making him wait, coz he could have been doing better stuff, rather than fetching me to the other side of the island.

It's a long night for me at the chalet, as we had department sharing sessions then EXCO meetings, and everything only kinda ended at 6am for me.
Just when i am getting ready to play, the entire world is getting ready to leave! Everyone was everywhere picking up their bags, getting ready to catch the morning bus home. It was so disappointing, coz i was expecting them to be enthusiastic, despite the long day that they had.

We were much more enthusiastic last semester, where everyone chilled and talked by the pool side. We finished at least 5 bottles of Absolut Vodka last initiation day, yet, we barely finished one Bottle this time. How sad.

Playing the game of "i've never..." a handful of us finished the entire bottle of Absolut Apeach in 2 hours. When we left the Chalet at 8 in the morning, i can't quite decide if im looking and feeling shitty coz i'm tired, or was it the effects of the alcohol? Whatever it is, too tired to make any talks at all, i fell into a deep sleep while travelling home in the cab...

I woke up a few hours later, and i had my second advance birthday dinner with boo and his folks at Kallang's no signboard seafood restaurant.
We had the white pepper crab, steamed crab, brocolli with scallops, this cutesy stuffed tofu dish that i like, chilli kang kong, fried baby squids, and the yummy butter prawns!

Everything's so yummy that i kept eating non stop! I ended my dinner with Hashima for dessert, and the silly boy refused to try the Hashima, coz he's disgusted by it. Haha. Silly boy!

Whatever it is, i'll have to thank my silly boo, for everything that has happened for the past week, coz i don't think i'll really be writing this really long entry tonight without him.
And not forgetting all our little adventures together for the past 2 years...

Oh yes, ASOS is having sale! Da just tempted me into buying stuff online again!
Argh!!!

psst! You're not stupid. I only said you're stupid, but I never thought that you're stupid, ok? =(

smirky

I've been a good girl these few days, i ate my medicine like any good girl should, and i drank water like a camel, and Im finally recovering from my flu.
I think it's all the drugs that i've consumed that speed things up alittle!! Yay!

Though, i do realise that it's rather unusual for a sick person to experience difficulties with falling asleep, despite all that wonkiness that medication caused.
No matter how wonky i feel, it's impossible for me to get rested sleep. So im looking very tired for the time being. Yes yes, battling with the common colds and chills is definitely hard work!

I went to watch Fun with Dick and Jane with boo boo today. The show's hilarous! Especially when Dick and Jane start getting desperate, resorting to showering, when their neighbour's sprinkler's on, and changing their Beemer to a little yellow Volkwagen i think.

Definitely a show worth watching, coz i think it's worth the laughter.
Now im starting to feel like im some movie critic, but hey, im sharing the good stuff with you, so why complain? Haha.

We managed to catch fireworks at the Padang for the fourth time this CNY! I think it'll be my last fireworks for 2006's CNY, and i must say that Im one satisfied girl.
*smirk*

Boo timed everything nicely, so they would coincide one after another. First the movie, then when the movie ends, we'll only need to walk alittle, and look for a nice spot, to watch all the fireworks!
We climbed onto those little spiral stairways at Marina Square, and the fireworks were right before my eyes! They're just so pretty!

Somehow, reality beakons, and it seems like i've got to start studying for the MAB test, whether i like it or not. 10 marks seem so difficult to score, and as usual, im just too lazy for words.... and much too lazy to start studying earlier.

Oh well...dont you just hate reality sometimes?

A Season for Love...

I was just bumming around at home, when Linda's phone call jolted me away from my far away land of day dreams. She wanted to catch a movie, and i didn't mind catching one, there we go.
=)

* 45mins later *

We met up at the Cineleisure, and we decided to watch a korean flick called "A Season of Love".
It sounded so romantic, and the pictures looked so happy and gleeful.

The actresses all look so pretty...but only 2 actors look cute. Judging from the pictures above, guess which 2? Haha!

The movie was portrayed in the same style as this other movie called "Love Actually", With 8 characters/4 couples and we see a different story, and a different lesson to learn.

I shan't go too much into the movie plot, in case i start bawling all over again...
Well. we ended up crying alot towards the end of the show, and Linda cried alot more than me.

"To live is to love, so as to live no regrets....."

Definitely something that anyone who's been through a relationship could relate to.
Since no one warned us that the show is gonna require lots of tissue, neither of us actually brought tissues along. i ended up wiping all that tears onto my pants to dry my fingers. =~(
Kinda messy, but it sure beats looking streaky.

I grieved so much for the fireman that didn't managed to propose to his girlfriend. On the night of the planned proposal, He died, while he was on duty. In his last few moments, he located a survillance camera, and signed languaged "I love you" to girlfriend, before he died.
I cried like mad to that scene, it's just so tragic.

Another tear jerking scene that got me weeping throughout, was the bonding the boy between his cancer striken mom. How he understood her love for him (those unspoken thoughts), when he chanced upon her hidden diary, and how she fought her illness, and remained strong for him.

Despite all that sad soppy scenes, there's loads of humour injected throughout the scenes, so it definitely kept me alternating between laughter, and sobbing.

Yes i know, im all emotional and soppy now. But some girls are just suckers for soppy movies, and im no exceptional.

Movie Review, incase you're interested. But definitley not suitable for Valentines day..unless you fancy your girl sobbing into your best attire....

still sick..and now a druggie

im still sick after so many day, and im practically drowning with my phlegm.I swear that i get so disgusted at the weird noises that im making subconsciously, that i jolt myself awake again. It's so gross!!!

SO i really didn't manage to sleep much, and i've finally decided to pay the doctor a visit.Just looking at all the medicine, i already feel like a druggie.

2 mint green pills the size of Panadol for my fever and flu.
10ml of yucky syrup for phlegm
another 10ml for the cough,
2 slim pills the antibiotics
1 tiny pill for my sore throat.

that's a total of 5 pills and 4 spoonfuls of medicine.
It's horrid.I nearly puked after im done with my first "serving" of drugs,
and i was tearing when im done with all the syrup.

So disgusting!!!!!Hate being sick...and now i feel drugged.... sleepy sleepy

oh, oh and before i forget,
i saw fireworks for the third time, while we were passing by the esplanade area this CNY!
Boy, they're pretty!!! and im glad to see them again.

i shall rave on and on abt the pretty fireworks when im not so drowsy ya?
i can't believe it..there's sch tmr again.

zzzz.........
I miss boo boo

Sick again, with a whole stomach of phlegm!

Urgh..! im sick again!
It started out as a little cough..then it progressed on to become some serious phlegm problem, and what do you know next? I'm down with fever!
I died at home the entire day, with absolutley no sense of humour, or mood to do anything at all.

Just plain misery lying in bed, sitting up is worst, and having aching bones is the worst part of it.
All the phlegm injested into my system made me feel pukish, and if i ever had to throw up, i wouldnt be surprised that it's all gross and sticky oozing out of my system!

i think i caught all these nonsense from Da! Hmpf! it's all her fault!
but looking on the bright side, im back to talking and blogging again. it was so bad that i didn't even have the mood to eat my dinner, not mentioning to utter words of crap during dinner.
I sure hope that tomorrow's gonna be a better day. It's bad to be sick.

2nd time for this year, and it's only start of feb! *cough cough*

food, weight loss and partying.

I've been feeling way too lazy to blog recently.
Somehow, this CNY has kinda lost it's special festive flavour to me this year..but no doubt, i had my fair share of feasting and angpows.

From visiting around, to watching Jet Li's latest show the Fearless with my boo, to granny's one year death anniversary, and an early birthday pressie from Ben, and some shopping, that probably sums up my CNY.

Oh and there's Mambo @zouk yesterday!
My first Mambo for 2006. It's been more than a month since the last time i went for mambo.
With my very bad school schedule, it was impossible for me to actually attend Mambo, and get to school on time.
As the way it is, i'm already having problem getting myself to school in time without all that partying..... can u actually imagine what happens if i did party?
( all that new year resolution to be a better student is really getting to me..Haha!)

It also seem to me that wearing black has a special slimming effect on me. Coz the general comment that i heard when i stepped out of Chris's car, was about me losing some weight!
I thought Jo and the rest were kidding me, until i met Alex.
He too said the same thing. Hmmm and he doesn't know the others...
I'm thrilled to be looking like i've lost "weight"..
Haha, but in truth, there wasn't any weight loss involved, and im actually suspecting a weight gain lurking around instead.
Despite all that speculation, i refused to weigh myself! ( yes, yes..i'm in denial)
neither is Black is not going to be my favourite color....it's just so morbid a color for my liking.

We partied hard as usual, enjoyed ourselves as usual, not forgetting those random idiots who's always trying to push their way up to the platforms, half drunk and all. It's all part of the experience i guess...Blearh.

Post party note: Im aching all over now...and I feel like a slug...Argh...!
