my birthday
Dinner at Shaslik the Russian restaurant
It's way past my birthday, and i've been too busy to blog once again. sheesh!
I'm thankful for all the birthday wishes that i've received from my friends and loved ones, and im truly grateful to know that i've not been forgotten!
I had dinner at Shaslik the Russian restaurant, and boo boo tried the escagots for his first time...just look at his silly expression that he's proudly posed for the camera! I had the safe and friendly onion soup, while he being more adventurous, tried the Borsch soup (beetroot soup! eek!) but they taste pretty good actually.
We had Steak for 2..and it has some russian name that i simply can't pronouce, and it's rather tender. The both of us were rather disappointed that the main chef was on MC, so we kinda missed out on their specialty - the Baked Alaska!
Boo!
Nevertheless, dinner's good, and we went over to the dollz inc at the wheelock to get my unazukin. This noddy little doll resembles a cross between a russian doll and an egg. They are soooooo CUTE! you ought to check them out! unazukin
They are voice activated, therefore, you're supposed to ask the little doll a question, and she'll nod of shake her head in response to your quetions!
Well, she's cute, but she's kinda costly for a little toy.. 15 bucks!
No regrets for me though, only wished that the shop brought more variety... the website had so much more!
Mine's the pink one with the rose buds!
We headed over to the night safari, and it's my first visit there, since it's opened 12 years ago. We sat on the tram ride, and after alittle while, boo and i felt comfy enough to sleep anytime...it's dark and our tummies are warm and comfy...yeps.
There wasn't any picture opportunity, as the safari kept reminding us that "the animals are night creatures, and they are sensitive to flashes" blahblahblah...so we didn't have any pictures at all, except for the night safari signboards. haha.
I was very very amused by the giant rodents, which were about the size of a baby calf! They are practically like giant hamsters! The little racoons and the tapir are adorable too!
The little badgers are so naughty, while they were performing at the animal show. They were supposed to do little tricks of throwing the cans into the recycling bins...but instead, it started fiddling around with the cans, refusing to let the cans go....
It's definitely a great experience, that could have been better, if only we could capture them on pictures!
I fancied the zebra rubbish bin, so i insisted on taking a picture with it. Zebras are just so pretty!
