The way you treat yourself

I chanced upon this quote that says it all.

The way you treat yourself, sets the standard for others to treat you.

It's an empowerment message that makes so much sense and yet so simply put forth.

I'm thankful that I'm hardly the bottom of this respect food chain that I'm talking about.

A lot of credits goes to my parents for nurturing and instilling my siblings and I with so much love, that we're probably more arrogant than humble about ourselves.
I stepped out into the society loving myself more than anything else in the world.
#true story

I learnt to balance out all that self love in recent years, and share it with friends and family.
I'll like to call that equilibrium actually.
Like a good set of balancing machine.
Love self, love family+friends, and love animals.
There's also nature, but I'm not very good at appreciating grass and soil or trees, even though it fundamentally feeds me indirectly.

Of course, a big part of self respect evolves around making effort to look good (i mean it as looking presentable, not splashed out in luxury goods.
Decked head to toe in branded items does not equate to looking aesthetically pleasing please!)
It prolly equates to self respect, and also respect to others who are going to stare at you for the next couple of hours in my own perspective.

*its been a long looney week for me.
Most of the drama happens in my head, as I stress myself out like mad to complete my last of spring and summer collection for 2014.

In my own words, i think I'm suffering from a slight burn out from too much "pushing myself" the past week.
Too much to do, too little time to spare.
*cries*

But! I'll rather that I go through these "hardships" that I'm subjecting myself to,
than to spend away the opportunity cost of realising my own dreams and expectations.

Self actualisation (maslow's) is a very important component in my world.

2 semi boiled eggs drowned in sesame sauce is a good way to unwind before I head to bed.
Posting this entry as I munch.

I have to say that i've absolutely no time to online shop or reply emails!
Not even when I'm camping out at home this much!

tgiw

Nothing much in particular, just one of those nights where I went to zouk happy, and left beamingly happy.

There was no tantrums involved.
I'm going with the fact that I was being fetched, and the bling blongs that I received from the DJ console counter.

I wanted, and I got them!
*beams*

Even when I hated being squeezed, stomped and crowded, I stood there happy like a fan girl anyway.

Conclusion is, cheap toys makes me happy too!

While being carded by the noob bouncer sets off the upset + irritated alarms within.
Don't get me wrong here...
Sure, being carded can be quite a boost to the esteem for some who're dying to be carded...and acknowledged that they still look young ( I seriously know of friends who enjoy the process.)

BUT hello! carded when my Identity card is not with me is definitely unappreciated.
But those lighted bracelets made up for the inconvenience.

Mr moustache

I've always wanted a curly suavely sort of mustache, just for the fun of it!
Because halloween is round the corner, the mustaches are up for grabs again!
Finally gotten round to getting some, and I can't decide which ones I liked better!

In case you forget how I look like without the mustaches...
Here's a normal picture of me looking erm.. Normal.

Til the next time then!

I woke up today to good news.
And I will make use of this renewed opportunity to work hard and reach my goals.

Thank you for everything I've been given so far.

I wunder..

Hello from China with some minutes to spare, and a random though struck me.

About the use of common resources for the public.

I remembered having a conversation where someone said..

In most asian country, such as Thailand, the culture is that non restaurant environment practices the habit of providing tissue paper/ cheap napkins for you to wipe your mouth and fingers while you consume your meals.

Singapore should really do something about it in our non restaurant eating places. Not that these cost alot.

---

On what he said, I feel that It doesn't matter that much to me, because I've been programmed to bring tissues along with me whenever I'm out.

Now that I'm in China strolling to the toilet with my wee paper in hand, I'll like to say something about this, albeit that the conversation is a few years late.

China provides me with paper to wipe my mouth, and I have to provide my own wee wee paper when I need to visit the loo.

Singapore provides me with wee wee paper, and I provide my own tissues to wipe my mouth when I eat.

Just a matter of inlet or outlet.
Resources still same.
Oh well. Just a matter of thought process!

Whether you'll prefer your country to provide you with safety net when you eat, or a safety net when you shit.

Funny how putting food to the table is important to countries like China, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia.

And having equipment to clean up our asses is vital to countries like Singapore, Japan, Korea.

Hong Kong  is wedged in the middle due to cultural issues.

This I sum up our first world cultural problems.

Not too indept but this shall suffice for now.

Itchy bed sheet.

Ever heard of the Danish story of a princess and the pea?
The one where only a true princess will be sensitive enough to feel the pea through 20 mattresses.

I used to think that it's a tall story.
Pun intended.
The illustrative pictures had this princess climbed up a ladder to sleep on 20 mattresses, which reminded me alot of a stack of pancakes!

And how is it even possible for her to be bruised blue and black just by a pea?
Ridiculous!

Anyway, I digress too much.
Perhaps she's way too sensitive.

Here I am, lying in bed with freshly changed sheets, wondering just why oh why that I can't possibly last another few more days, ( hence postpone the changing of bed sheets until the week after)  since I'm about to travel off in a couple of days time.

Logically it really doesn't make sense to change sheets just before a trip.

Physically I'm itching all over, and I could feel bites creeping all over until I strip my bed off the old ones and replace them with new ones immediately!

Yep, even if its 5am in the morning, it's absolutely unavoidable, or I'd be sleepless with itchy rashed skin.

Is it just me, because my skin is sensitive, or does this happen to everyone (only that no one in my social circle ever talks about it?)

I'm actually quite sure that this isn't the first post of me whining about itchy sheets, and changing them at weird hours just because it gets really unbearable without much warning.
Like clockwork.

* this itchy bed syndrome started waaaay before I had the dog. Besides she's never allowed up my bed.

In fact, I only ever started experiencing itch when the family decided to do away with the maid, and bed sheet hygiene was left entirely to our own discretion ( and mother's nagging).

Somehow, the brother and sister are able to keep up with their pig sty lifestyle much longer than I could.
*i swear that I'm the only one inflicted with this problem to date.
:(

Alright.
Bedtime!

Xoxo
Unitch the sleepy daphne or perhaps live in hotels forever!
Clean sheets ftw!

Reverse Oreos

Brought Trixie out to Yishun today, and we had fun! It was rather impromptu, but enjoyable.

She's somewhat Extremely well behaved whenever she rides in a car.
I'm also eternally Grateful that cabbies that I've met so far, have been willing to take us. I've been told of cases that cabs refused to pick up dogs just because of some reasons or another.
For this I feel blessed that I'm well taken care of in more than one way.

The cabbie that brought us commented that Trixie is very well behaved.
I agree.
She surprises me at times with her good behavior.
Perhaps I've always viewed her as an innately naughty/mischievous doggie.
Therefore her good behavior is something that I do take for granted, while I focus on what I choose to see.

This is how the doggles spends most of her time on our way to Yishun.
*plonks herself on the human cushion*

She got bored during the last 5 minutes of the cab ride, and sat up to look out of the window, just to see where I'm abucting her to.
Haha.

Finally! After many moons later, the reverse Oreos trios reunited and Claud managed to capture a darn good shot of us,

Whilst I failed terribly! #Le sigh

Trixie's energy was well spent today.
And she's had lots of fun hanging out with Pups!
Doggles is lying flat out on the floor, as I post this.
Lol

Wogglesarus

I just gave Trixie a pair of cotton candy colored eyebrows.
I know, they don't match too well.
One side is pinker than the other.
I'll try again next time!

Used food dye for her eyebrows, don't start judging me on cruelty. If its ok for human ingestion, it's absolutely fine for dogs.

Speaking of which, I gave myself pink streaks!

Pretty right!
Did them all by myself in a night.
Alittle sad that the lavender colour did not show up as vividly as I thought it would.
My main pink color is called carnation pink, mixed about with random strands of lavender.
Where did lavender streaks go?
I have no idea!

F1 2013

F1 has been pretty good to me

this year.
It was busy in a good way!

Been too lazy to throw up post lately, i've been taking time off the computer whenever possible. Therefore, I'd figure that posting up pictures would justify for the absence of words.

Day 1@ Singapore cricket club

I feel like a midget standing next to the girls!

At the Padang area!

Random view of the day

Almost got dragged into dancing.
I would, if I wasn't lugging my bag around!

Group shot of the girls before ending work for the day.

Started work at Sentosa Tanjung beach club the next day, before heading down for F1.
With the lovely Heineken girls,

Then F1 again!
I visited the Tiger beer girls at their respective Booths assigned.
So pretty!

Greeted at the gate by my very tall "twin".
I prefer this gold outfit to the red ones that the girls wore on the first day!

Claud and I bumped into our sec friends and we hung out for awhile!
So happy to see them, because it makes me feel like a school kid again.

The last day!
I'm looking more and more like a spectator than a working manager.

Oh the glorious sunset that was gone after I took this shot.

I can be an F1 racer too!

This floating ballon cluster, was holding up a lady in white dress. She was dancing in the air.
How pretty!

Those lazy lounging chairs look extremely appealing.
It's just too bad that I didn't have time to laze on it.

Last group shot of the girls before work officially ended.

Like I've said, it's a good F1 this year, and I'm thankful for everything that has been provided to me.
:)
