Project: Random stuff I wear

Daily wardrobe.

I've always wanted to post up pictures of what I wear on a somewhat daily basis, just to keep track of how my dressing has evolved over the years - but sadly it has never surfaced because I'm such a procrastinator.
#oops.

I've figured that I should start somewhere, and what better way to start off my little project, than with my new clothes right?
Ooh lalala...
Here's like a warning that there's gonna be alot of Daphne, daphne and more daphne...
so hold your breakfast.lunch.dinner.teabreak.supper.whatever - dont puke.

In no particular order or days, here we have one of my favourite buys, the asymmetric off white jersey vest that I'm currently loving alot.
Looks less sloppy with my white ripped denim shorts, no?
It's like mega comfy without looking very sloppy.
At least I think so!

There's also something about white that I cant seem to figure out.
I'm in love with white, and I can wear them everyday without getting bored.
Confirm. double confirm. triple confirm.

Wearing:
White basic tank top
Off white asymmetrical top
faded ripped + laced rimmed denim shorts
Pearl white gothic necklace (no i'm not a christian)
Satin chained bracelet chunks

Sloppy Chic

Wearing:
White basic tank top
Vintage long white skirt that is as old as I am - inherited from mommy's stash
Beige brown looped scarf
White floral hairclip
Satin chained bracelet chunks

Modern Bohemian

Funny how single or double looping the scarf can create such different effect.
Single loop (extreme right) dramatized the outfit, and elongated my torso...making me look - well -longer, leaner without a diet. lol.
While the double loop (extreme left) is just the way scarfs are worn normally.
Ok whatever, nobody cares but me.
Hahaha.

Wearing:
Peach Pink chiffon Layered long dress
Jersey white sash
Braided white hairband
Satin chained bracelet chunks

Floaty Romantic /Vivi Magazine / Liz Lisa inspired
I could not resist swishing the dress about.
I look kinda fat and puffy - but i reckon it's good for buffets.
If only i'm like 170cm tall, i think i'll look awesome in the dress.
Weeh.

Other random snap shots ~
Went clubbing the other night

Wearing:
Poofy Zipper rimmed frock
Grey jersey sash
faded ripped + laced rimmed denim shorts
Grey knee high socks
Bling bracelet cuff

Space age cutesy

Wearing:
Dual strapped Lilac top
Crochet skorts
Cropped white Cardigan
Satin chained bracelet chunk

Not sure what to name this look...
Let's just name this

Daily pastels

Wearing:
Black racer maxi dress
Black gold Moschino cheap or chic Belt
Black gold Juicy Couture chain charm watch
Heart shaped shades

Local Ah Lian

I love the fact that most dresses that tapers and ends off after the knee never fails to provide this "tighten up" illusion.
Think pencil skirts, a good structured shift dress etc.
Makes the torso taunt.firms up, look shapely and lengthens, making one looks taller than she really is!
I'll explain the illusion concept in a seperate post if time permits in the next few days.

Belt turned out to be too loose, had to bring to Shukey to get holes punched, and cut off some excess leather for it to be worn as a waist belt.

That's about all the stuff I found in my phone.
Til the next time ya!

Off with the dog!

I've had just about enough with the dog at the moment, so I'm just angsting alittle, because I just want to.

Seriously got to send her for some obedience training - other wise, she might just receive similar fate with the cat. (ie animosity with the mom)
Urgh.

Like stupid girl decides to sneak into mommy's room and poo in her toilet, right smack at the entrance
The mother stepped on the "black gold", and naturally, isn't thrilled by Trixie's toilet adventures.

Just walked past the furry blob, and I saw that between her sleep tray and pee tray ~ the bugger had to shit between the line. Seriously, is it that hard, to just shit/pee properly in the allocated location?
I'll deal with it when I wake up tomorrow.
#SwearsUnderTheBreath

Yup, no one ever said that training a puppy is going to be easy business, but this one that I've got here is not dumb. She's uber intelligent but is just DAMN FREAKING STUBBORN.
Come on, how many puppies/dogs have you met, that is capable of breaking out of her cage/compound?

We're actually talking about 3 different cages/fence in total, and she did it all.
Ta da!
I bet she had lessons with Houdini.
Lol.

I'm not frustrated or upset with the dog, I'm just showing off.

Little fleabag looking "angelic" on her "floor bonding time"

I've got brown eyes. I really do...
If you'll just stare at them alittle longer - or I can get my owner to PS my eyes til they are naturally brown

Mobile floor rug in my room - Matchy with my studded bag.
Uhuh!
* I'm still hunting for the perfect collar for my little furry fleabag.
Her default red-blue collar will suffice for now, not that I've got a choice.

Self amusing doggles having fun with my room's mirror, featuring her signature "dead cockroach" pose.

It's like one of her default sleeping position somemore.
So cute, how not to love right?

She's only cute when she's dry and furry.
I swear she looks like an ugly rat when she's wet!
So ugly, only a mother will love....
Look.

She insist on propping herself up whenever I shower her in the bath tub, and my bathroom floor will be wet after. T.T (I hate it when the bathroom floor is wet and flooded.)
Rwar!!

Ok, maybe she's scared that she'll drown or something.

Here's a last picture of the furry Madame with half sized skinny legs to boot.
Aiyoh..
Told you she looks ugly, when she's wet like a rat.

*An ugly looking scopionish looking bug just flew in and landed on my cushion.
I'm refusing to sleep tonight, until I smack that ugly BUGger to death, or at least get it to leave my room.

Trixie and dots

It's official!
The family's adopting Trixie the miniature schnauzer.
When I first brought her home, my biggest worry was whether she could win the hearts of the fam - and she did it like a pro.

EVERYONE including mommy (who's like really afraid of dogs since like forever) and Daddy ( who really is a cat person), Da and Jan is okay with her.
Probably only the Bunny isn't exactly overjoyed by her presence, but he's okay with her now.

My first week with Trixie proved to be kinda tricky.
She is quite the poop and pee machine.
Everytime I avert my eyes for a split second, a puddle or a pile of poop would surface.

It was exasperating.
I felt like I was Cinderella with the never ending chore of cleaning up after the dog.
The kitchen napkins, rag and mop was like my best friend.
For someone who rarely holds the mop, I lost count of the number of times I held the mop in just one day - record breaking.
Urgh.

May I present to you...
*drum rolls*
Trixie Lee!

My introductory picture of Trixie the schnauzer to my world.
Long and messy beard + eyebrows on her first day at home.

I couldnt live with the messy long beard and eyebrows, and I took matters in my own hands!
( it was rather unfortunate that the grooming places weren't available - as it was the Lunar new year peak period.)

I trimmed her brows and beard myself!
Tralalalla...

So much neater, but she looks like a boy.
Meh...

A close up of her in the day, while she was lounging in my room.
She had her "whatcha staring at?" face.

Love this picture of her to bits!
It was kinda candid.
She was sort of tired from the endless camera snapping, and so happened that one of her ear was flopped backwards + we could see her brown eyes for the first time, as most pictures with normal lighting kinda just hid her pretty eyes away along with her black and silver fur.

My master piece isn't so bad for a first timer grooming huh?

It's been about 2 weeks since I've brought her home, and Trixie seems to be progressing a little with the potty training, adjusting fantastically to her new family and home, and seems to have picked up a trick or 2 for future show and tell.

She's quite a smart little doggle, with very short attention span.
Terribly stubborn and extremely needy - she whines every time I leave home (with or without the rest of the family) and sits by the door until I return home.
Awwww....

My niam niam (sticky) little sweetie - that's what I call her.
Mommy refers to her as my precious.

This Lunar New year is very much sweetened with her presence.
Gives the family an extra topic to gather about - and a good source of entertainment just watching her going about with her silly antics.

---
Ask and you shall be given.

It was funny how everything fell into place, as if everything was pre planned.
I asked for a dog, and in a twist of fate, I met 2 dogs.

Just back in October, I was 90% convinced about getting a toy poodle, and extremely bent on naming her Bambi.
Only that time wasn't right for me to bring "Bambi" home.

Yet just a couple of months down, there was Haatei's short stay with us (you can also read up why he's stay with us turned our to be short here), and now we have Trixie that found her way effortlessly into our hearts with so much love and affections to share with us.

Without Haatei's short existence, Trixie's entrance into our home would not have been easy.
Haatei proved to mommy that not all dogs are ill behaved.
He showed her the full potential of an obedient, well trained dog.
That with proper guidance and training, there was nothing to fear - despite his physique in size.

She even allowed him to sleep next to her bed while she was napping.
That was how calming a presence he was to mommy - who's been scared of dogs her entire life.

---
My point in jotting this side note, is to remind us that life isn't all that we set out to be.
Everything happens for a reason; that is surely to help shape us for our intended future.
Without the past, we wouldn't appreciate our future.

For every situation that presents itself to me, I'm learning to take them at my own stride - one step at a time.

Fighting the control freak in me, who is adamant about grasping details and making choices my way.
I'm slowly learning to understand that there IS a bigger plan out there, waiting for me to fit into the role, and contribute my worth to the world + NOTHING is within my control

As how I always love quoting Steve Jobs pertaining to this matter, as he has done a fantastic job in summarizing words that I am unable to put forth:

You cannot connect the dots looking forward.
You can only connect them looking backwards.
So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.
Trusting in something, ~ your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever ~ because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart,
even if it leads you off the well-worn path, and that will make all the difference.

I guess, this pretty much summarizes life as zen-ly as I can.

Songs in my head

Im not sure if this is actually normal, but I usually wake up with a song in my head...
It's probably a leftover from my sleep world or perhaps a little message from my inner self telling me something?

Whatever it is, the current song stuck in my head from my nap time is Mari Hamada's hold on dream on.
The chorus just keeps repeating in my head.
Non stop!!

It kinda inspired me to YouTube her, and I found her concert version.
Truth be told, this is probably the only song I know, and she's not particularly pretty.
Her high waist jeans and midriff that she wore, made me laugh.

I had this joke about how our waist line level keeps dropping as the years goes by.
It'll totally be normal to be walking around with panties, by the time i turn 80 years old or something.
Lol.

Seriously, quite abit of old chinese songs has been making their way back into my head ever since the recent KTV we had during Claudia's birthday.
Some of the songs are really quite emo somemore.

Okay, let me change my statement -Chinese songs are always emo, #IMHO.
Lol.

The KTV session has since spurred a bout of Chinese song hunting to add to the playlist.
Rwar!

6 am in the morning some more!

Things I do when bored...

I know that I've just posted an entry not too long ago.
I napped too much in the day, and now I'm sleepless and tucked in bed with too many thoughts swimming pass my head randomly...
So I figured that I should just type in random stuff that I do on a daily basis
Like....

1. Playing tiny tower ( used to be bejewel to help pass time - minute after minute, it gets really addictive)
2. Online shop/ browse - I can do that endlessly.
3. Pre plan outfits for days when I feel like shit, with absolutely no motivation to dress up at all..  ( these pre planned outfits would come in handy when I actually have to force myself to leave home for meetings etc)
Pre planned outfits are also very good motivators to leave home ( because I can't wait to wear the combination out)
4. Bitch on whatsapp with the buddies
5. Rummage for food and snacks to kill boredom and hunger.
6. Walk over to holland village for bubble tea + toiletries shopping at Watsons, Sasa and Guardian, as well as to stalk animals on sale at pet lovers too! Lol
7. Read up twitter and Facebook status
8. Daydream in bed
9. Be Philosopical and ponder about things beyond my control like..
My life journey, my destiny, my purpose on this earth and how the choice I make would affect many outcomes and how I can improve the life of people that I care about + wonder when will Karma strike those who have been playing dirty etc.
For that, I hope they'll never be able to get a good night's worth of sleep. Yay!
10. Attempt to pack up my room and construct ideas to make storage more exciting
11. Fall asleep
12. Disturb my little abnn zoo at home.
The animals at home are all expected to do selective tricks to earn their treats.
I spend time with them daily, and train them to do achievable tricks.
Yay!

Finally I'm sleepy now.
Goodnight people!

CNY 2012 and spring cleaning Loot.

Just completed half the spring clean in preparation for the coming Chinese New Year.

As the mother is plotting to chuck away our Mega old display cupboard at home, my biggest find for the night would be my nugget buddies from Macdonalds.
I had them when I was a weeny kid, and they look like this!

Unfortunately, mommy did not raise me to my full potential of being a fast food kid.
Therefore, I was unable to get the full collection of my Nuggets village.
Weh...

Looking at them, I smiled and packed them into the allocated plastic boxes to be stored away for.... future reminiscing purpose.
Super love the nuggets ♥"

Spring cleaning is a long way from completion.
The room is still looking very war-zoned like.
It seems like I'll never be neat in this life. Ever.

I dreamt of a very nice and pretty room while I was napping earlier.
Nao...why can't that very awesome room become reality for this coming CNY huh...
sad.

New Hair... Sunshine Girl or SPG?

Been sick for the looooongest time, and I got bored of staying at home.
Too much rest and bed time is counter productive to my mood.
Decided to text the hair dresser and see if she's free to entertain me.
Indeed!

Jumped out of bed, washed up and dropped by Next Salon to change the hair.
This picture was taken while I was trotting over to Holland Village.
(I seriously think I poop, eat, sleep, and do pretty much everything there, if given a choice)

Seated at the salon - Kate flipped through my hair, stared at my hair job and asked me who colored my hair.

I looked at her with o.O eyes, and owned up that I colored them myself.
She praised me and said my technique is pretty good huh...
Until she flipped to the back part.
It was darker than the rest of my hair
LOL.

Oops!
Botched job, and in my own defense - I said the back of my head has no eyes!
Whatever la, like I really care!
A good laugh and a few more hair flips later.
She told me her vision for my hair... and I said deal (as usual)

After all the usual trim and paint hoo haa later...
She admired her artwork and said to me...
I hope you're a sunshine girl....

and I returned her comment with my best are you kidding look.

*ahem*
She decided on a new statement.
Are you an SPG then?

I gave her my next best incredulous look.
*sigh*
and we both burst out laughing.
Crazy girl.

Seriously, between the both of us.. it's been more than 10 years since our hair relationship started... back when I was her hair model back in the defunct Blitz salon.
she knows how I hate looking "neat" with prim and proper hair.
and stuff like that.
Soo... yup.
i'm gonna be a psuedo Sunshine girl and SPG for the new year.

Pictures were taken at night in the room.
I know I look damn fair here right?
It's a lie!

This is my newest craze!
The neo print looking stamps apps!
Mad Love!

No photo filter! Promise!
Just pure white lights from the bedroom.
I've got a thing for good lighting in the room.
Annoys the shit if I can't see things properly at night.
Might as well use candles if that's the case.

I know right! Looks damn blonde. but it's probably closer to the picture below, even though the color seems to be getting "brighter" with each hair wash.
Im gonna look "ang moh" by this coming Chinese New year!

On the bright side, I'm glad and enjoy the fact that I can do ANYTHING with my hair, and still get away with it (Maybe not shave my head botak or perm until I look like a poodle..)

#JobPerks FTW!
Okay bye!

Sick + shopping loots

It's been damn long!
I fell sick before christmas, and continued to be sick over the new year.
Having a terribly hacking cough to deal with, it's a sad affair to develop coughing abs.

Spent the entire night frustrated, and I need to rave about it.
I was hungry.
But the only quick accessible food at my beck and call would be the
party packet of Kit Kats,
the Jappy prawn crackers that is damn awesome!
I bought them from Takashimaya basement market...takes like 5 prawns to make one cracker, and its MSG free. *yums*
and the remaining 5 boxes of Lychee pocky staring at me....
and the usual Jumbo box of Kokocrunch waving to me to kill hunger pangs..

I willed myself not to eat any of them, because I want that stupid cough to go away.
Ate an entire box of Rambutan and I need to say this aloud...

FIBRE DOES NOT FILL UP THE EMPTY TUMMY!
Ended up hungry after I was done with rambutans and tons of water.
#sadplight
I now officially know why people lose weight when sick.
So many things cannot eat!

I ate lunch at Astons at 5pm - still thinking of the already digested yummy chicken chop
Ate dinner at home 10pm - hor fan styled seafood beehoon.
and fully digested by 1am - the honey lemon jelly drink I bought at the petrol station did nothing to help with the hunger pangs.

They attracted ants, and I nearly drank them all. Rwar!
Luckily I looked!
I almost ate an ant once, and those stupid tiny things give off a putrid taste in the mouth that reminds me of insecticide. one ant was enough to trigger my gag reflex
Stupid bugger even bit my tongue while he was at it. *!@$%
My fault that the ant trepassed my drink?!
Pfft.

I spent the entire night reading one of my favourite books to distract myself from the crazy hunger.

The little white horse by Elizabeth Goudge.
I'm such a sucker for nice imaginary stories that involves stars, moons, unicorns.
Finished the book in a night, and feeling a little lost and out of sorts after finishing the book.

It's one of those - what do I usually do to kill time, before I started on the book - kind of feeling.
---

On a brighter note, I met V for lunch, and the sweetie gave me a jar of moisturizer from Lancome.

She knew I had been whining about moisturizers for the longest time, as
Biotherm stopped producing the range that I like, and I've been shopping for a new "love" ever since.

I was living off testers for close to 2 months... #TrueStory
Because I could not decide on a new brand, nor do I want to buy and shelf the product aside, because my room has limited space.
I live in a matchbox remember?

She recommended the Hydra Zen, and so she passed them for me to try out!
#stressed what if I dont like it?!
She also passed me a couple of other skin stuff, like Kiehl's facial cleanser and this new tester for Lancome's eye cream. Hurhurhur.

Haha. I'm sure I would.
I'll keep reviews for another day.
I feel super loved by my friends and family, even though i'm sick and feeling shitty.

Digressing, the mother went a little nuts on the honey stock piling, just because I told her that I finished up the jar of honey and we needed more.
Honey is damn good for sick people like me, and awesome for people who perpetually have sugar cravings.

Madam mommy bought 3 jars of manuka honey and apparently each jar had  different use.
*sigh*
I'm a simple girl, I only want the normal drinking type.
Now still got to remember which jar is for drinking, which is coating the throat / lining the tummy and which to smear on the face (kidding)
Lol.

Digression aside, I went into a slight panic attack mode after lunch with V.
The thought that I would not have any new clothes to wear this coming Chinese New Year, sent me into a frantic mode.

I always have issues getting new clothes during the later half of the year, because Autumn colors do not look awesome on me.... and dreary colors for the winter are quite depressing. The fluffy and thick fabrics aren't exactly a hit with me too...
*cues and laments why isn't there any snow or winter in Singapore?*

The new clothes that I have recently bought and received have since been worn *panics*
Nao, why didn't I think of saving them for the CNY, instead of wearing them immediately!!!!

Since I was in the area, I braved the crowd at Bugis Village and emerged with a few everyday essential loots - not exactly CNY worthy, but I'll at least have new stuff stockpiled for the festive season!

A romantic looking chiffony tube dress (vivi inspired!) - in my head, I already knew what belt, hair, and accessories I'll fix up with the new dress to get that look in my head.

An off white Asymmetric casual jersey vest for my everyday chillax wardrobe.
It goes pretty nicely with my denim shorts without looking sloppy.

Korean inspired jersey blouse in white,
It's long sleeves, I tell you!
But it's got major holes at the shoulders, to offset the fabric spam.
and I super love the skater silhouette.
And i can pair it with shorts!
I know how i'm constantly contradicting myself.
Hate to look sloppy, but love to wear shorts - it's an art I tell you!
#JustSaying

My favouritest of the lot, would be the hello kitty frame that I bought!
Leopard/tortoise shell spectacle frames.
I wonder if my optician will entertain me, if I were to bring my frames in and ask for real prescription lens?

Not bad, for a 2 hour shopping stint at Bugis, and none of them were cheap as $10 though :(
Pictures later, when I'm feeling better and interested in dressing up.
Lounging in my pajammies is damn awesome.
Flop back into bed anytime I fancy, with bed head and geeky specs.
woooo~

Also just bought a nice asymmetrical white top from Tracyeinny as we speak.
I think I am really quite safe now.... no need for panick attacks anymore.

Hello New Year..

Hello 2012, we finally meet.
I'm not sure what the year would hold and bring, but I truly wish that the new year would bring good health, lots of wealth, love peace and joy to all, including the evil people around - just so that they'll learn to stop being so evil to everyone around, and find peace within.

Okay I also wish that this Red Diary will be filled to the brim.
Only C will know what I mean by this, as she has a matching one as well.
Only that mine has a red Crabtree & Evelyn Bow attached - itchy fingers, everything needs to look girly + the bow was too cute to be ignored. :)

2011 was a relatively good year for me, with selective monsters to make me sad.
But life is full of ups and downs, so I'd stand by the fact that 2011 has been good to me.
It ended well.
Thank you very much.

With...
a bulk of payments coming through...
Proper time spent with loved ones
Was having a good meal when the clock striked 12.
Closing it with awesome mango pudding from Crystal jade at Holland Village.
Hahah.
31st 2011 got me beaming from ear to ear. (almost)

Simple joys for the simple creature I am.
Hahahha.

Finally gotten around to compiling some of my Christmas presents.
First of all, the biggest present to myself would be a happy Daphne.
So there we go, Bunny ear hairtwist and my new crochet top on Christmas day itself.
Looking at this picture, I think I need a haircut.

Second Present would be the iphone to myself.
With all that Apps available, editing pictures is sooooo convenient.
Except for the snapping a picture of my phone part.
Had to whip out the camera to do the deed.

And I bought myself this very cute Hello Kity Casing from Sanrio.
Red bow + Clicky ears at the "unlock" button
My only gripe was that the white of the kitty casing was NOT the same as the iphone white.
Weehhhh..
ok, and that the casing was a little bulky.
Need to show off the awesome wallpaper I found!
I edited the colors alittle to make it look less jarring to the eye.
I dont like overly girlie stuff - so this one suits me right.
Punk/graffiti inspired + the red bow-ed kitty.
Yay!

My christmas present to myself came too early, so I forgot, and happily bought myself another present!

I present to you my new vinyl Ted Baker wallet with Heart shaped intial clasp!
The flash showed off my handprints more than the wallet. Lol.
Love Ted Bakers eye for details TTM!
Love!

This is what my wallet interior says:

The more you give, the more you get.
I have shaky hands, and an old camera so I shall spare you the agony of reading the interiors of my wallet, and type it out instead.

Red LV epi is officially retired again, until I decide that matchy everything is more important than my cute TB wallet.

Bestie knows me best!
White chocolate for a cold rainy day, because normal chocolates always give me a sore throat.
My dear Miss Laura Ashley, please come back for good....so that we can go shopping together EVERY WEEK, instead of twice a year!

Went shopping a couple of days back, and I accidentally inspired her with the idea to get hair extentions. Crazy woman really did them and is returning back to London with Jungle girl/ Hagrid inspired hair!

I hope hers will stay put longer than mine did. Lost patience with them and took them all out.

Also brought her to Ma Maison for dinner the other night after shopping, and she liked it so much that she dragged me there for dinner again 2 days later. This is how crazy girls live.
Hahaha. I think i'm crazier - coz I ate the same thing twice.

At least she changed to the one I ordered, because she was salivating over my portion the other night.
Rwar..
Some things just dont change, no matter how far apart we are - or how unoften we see each other.

Picture collage of some my gifts up close. :)
A nice dress from my other good friend, who surprised me with this dress that I didnt manage to get for myself, and the nice sleep wear bottoms from the sister ...
This crazy girl bought both the shorts and long pants version in the same Love print.
Funny, but nice!

Kitty phone cover in red flown in from Japan - because the kitty cover I got for myself is too bulky, and is not in red, says X.. Lol

Told X that I saw the same ones in Bugis, and he got a little upset. Lol - ok the quality of the silicon feels different. So upset not, okay?
I have to 'fess up that the wallpaper was downloaded to match this cover, not the white one.
Lol.

I ate up a couple of other stuff that I've received :x
To think of it, this is more like a post of what I bought, instead of what I received.
and I shall end this entry with the last purchase of the year

My red jelly Barbie Stripper worthy heels!
The Melissa kind!

Why I call them Barbie inspired - because they reminded me of Barbie's heels.
I couldn't find the exact one that I used to have, red with ribbon bow on top minus the ankle straps. (They're lost!)
Had to make do with the second closest pair...
Awww... Dug out my Barbie closet for this photoshoot, and played with them alittle.
*beams*

I miss being a kid.
Maybe now that the school hols is over, Toys "R" Us is safe to venture into again.
Need to load up on new wardrobe for Barbie.
The ones at home are all vintage. :(

For now, here's to the new year with a red big bang!
And the growing thought of getting a new semi pro camera.
haha.
