schouler skirt from Love Bonito

I want this skirty in Lime Green!
But i'm not too sure about that see through part of the skirt bit though.
Pondering if it looks abit odd to see 5% of my legs between my skirt.
Hahaha.

Food Diaries - not for the hungry

I must admit that I haven't been taking much pictures lately.
Been busy catching up with long over due meals with friends.
Rwar!

I cant remember which day's what, so its just gonna be my food pictures.
lalala.

Lunch at Saizeriya.
Mushroom Hamburg steak and a slice of Hawaiian Pizza.
Food is decently cheap for quality.
Comes with free drinks!

Marche!
This is how 2 hungry people eat
I finished half a pork knuckle + 1 slice of pizza and half a bowl of mushroom soup!
Claudia finished up the rest of the pizza (she cheated and ta bao-ed) and soup and a small small corner of my pork knuckles.
RWAR!

Saturday night was Mommy's Groupon food adventures to Chinatown for smokeless BBQ dinner. Food was meh if you ask me. Decent, but not over the moon fantastic.
Took this when we just started.
Raw food is unappealing in pictures, if you ask me. :S

Serving size is okay, they had nice chilli sauce to accompany the meat.
In my opinion, the brother and I weren't very filled up after dinner, and we traipsed off to another random dessert store nearby to fill up our tums tums, and went home to share the bag of Honey chicken soy chips while attempting the game tilt to live on the ipad.

I sucked at playing the game. Even the mother had better scores than me.
*grumble*
Not a diu diu/survival game type of person.
Blah..

Monday was yet another Groupon food adventure with the fam at Chang's BBQ located at Illuma.
The entire building looks like it's about to crumble, with all the renovations going on.
Food is pretty decent.

I was kinda late for dinner, so the mom and brother were already semi filled when I started on mine, and so mommy kept piling heaps of meat on my plate.
I just sat there and kept eating.

Here's my meat and vegetable wrap.
Noms

I quote the brother "all the meat is korean marinated, everything taste the same"
Haha.
I cracked up becayse his comment was super funny to me at the moment.
Indeed, everything was coated with the reddish korean marinate, and the past 20 slices of meat I ate were all the same color.

The fried rice was with kim chi, the meat was either kim chi color, or non marinated.
Some how during the meal, I started to miss Japanese food for its variety and non greasy-ness smell/feeling.

Dude enjoyed the attap ice cream the most, and  I ate so much Barbecued meat that I just wanted to crawl home.
But secretly, I still had enough space for a cup of bubble tea.
Woo~

I also smelt like a bbq for the next 2 days even after showering like mad, the smellyness extended to my hello kitty phone cover (despite the countless soaping and washing, smell lingered).
Rwar!

I hate it when I smell food on myself.
Makes me feel very dirty, and constantly hungry.
#Petpeeve.

I'm like the sort who eats her durian with chopsticks and spoon (whenever possible), just so my fingers wouldn't stink after i'm done with all the delicious-ness.
I mean, burping and peeing the smell of durian is enough to remind me, therefore the durian scented fingers is not appreciated.

By Tuesday my throat was sore from too much barbecued food.
Met Eugene for dinner, and I requested that dinner can be anything, as long as its not greasy or heaty, and he bought me dinner at the Soup Restaurant for my birthday (even though it was months ago! yay!)
Soup Restaurant is yums to the max.
The samsui chicken, olive rice, boiled soup, were my personal favourite.
Look at the chicken!

Audrey's night!
I haven't met the woman for MONTHS.
It was between yoshinoya and Ding Tai Fung at 9pm, and Yoshinoya won by chance!

I had Sushi Tei craving since Monday night.
So Sushi Tei it was, for lunchner, and mommy got me yummy soup for dinner.
Light food is good.

Today, I had #skyscraper, heart shaped omelette, cheese sausage and tom yam instant noodle for lunch.

Yoshinoya for Dinner,
Mac cafe Walnut Cheesecake and a warm cuppa Fluffy steamed milk with marshmellows for dessert/ supper.

Ok end of food diaries.
Whoever who claims that I'm not eating, obviously hasn't eaten with me EVER.
Lol.

Skyscraper - The Daphne Way.

Ahhhh I really couldn't resist.
Inspired by the Boyce avenue version of skyscraper I posted in my previous post - here's my piteous version of skyscraper on the ipad piano.
It's my first attempt in playing a proper song on this app.

With an attention span akin to a squirrel,
I got bored toward the end, fumbled, and nearly thwarted the completion of the video.
Hahaha.
Mistakes galore, BUT I forced myself to finish it anyway (because I'm a big girl now... have to exercise some self discipline. Lol)

Watching myself play, I look like I was sleep playing, coz I can barely spot my small small eyes.

I also got reminded of my wooden toy piano painted in red.
I miss being a kid.
Rwar!

I also showed my mommy this video and she was amused.
Like happy type of amused expression.

a) I'm not sure if it's because she never thought that an ipad could be made into an instrument in this manner, or

b) after so many YEARS and money spent investing into my music lessons, and this is her ROI.
Daughter playing random song on ipad for fun and showing it to her -_-"
awwww....

c) ipad can be used as piano?
Maximizing her new toy = money well spent.

Seriously dont know what went through her head when she watched the video and beamed.

Passport

The mother just reminded me that I should get my passport renewed soon.. like NOW, if the lady had her way.

I'm taking it as a sign that there is like a HIGH possibility that i'm setting foot into Hongkong/ China in April, like it or not.
zzZZzz

I've been putting the renewal bit off for the longest stuff.
The reminder document came in August last year, and I was like "it's 6 months from now mom... what's wrong with these people?"

and a few blinks later, it's close to April, and the expiry date's in May.
#Welldone.

It's just SO tricky to get a decent shot.

1) Everytime I remember about the passport pictures, I'd be out of make up.
It does not even make sense for me to apply my goob at 3am in the morning, just to get a
decent shot of myself as a travelling requirement.

2) Passport pictures requires me to in the most unflattering angle.
Not forgetting hair must not cover eyebrows, must look at the camera full frontal face like a
     retard.
     No monkey faces accepted either.
     RWAR!

3) I hate to fill up forms and blahs. It's a tedious job that i'm not gifted at (ok its more like boring
    than ungifted).

4) I hate government related chores.
CPF, IRAS, Passport, I dont like you. NOT AT ALL.
And all the shitty passwords that they issue out to me - looking at them irks me.
    prolly something that looks like

    Bl33pstupid689900

Take my Singpass for example.. I had to scamper over to Tg Pagar CC to get them
changed - Time spent to get there? 45 mins by bus and foot.
Time taken for the Human-bot to change my password?
    3mins.

    Epic Love.

Eyebrows: They'll never be the same again

Was bored and stared at myself really hard in the mirror.
truth be told, I've aged!

ARghhhh!

That's like a girl's biggest nightmare isn't it?
All the freckles emerging like some conglomeration on the cheek and nose!
It's damn gross!

Anyway, I also figured out that my left brow will be permanently scared forever!
It's been about a good 4 months since my bleeding eyebrows incident.
The dent from the impact is still visible!
The brows will never be the same again!

Drawing my eyebrow isn't quite the same anymore.
I'm thankful that it isn't THAT obvious, and that I'll always have the option of Eyebrow Embroidery if I ever feel conscious enough about it.

Nah... I'll live with the lobang.
In fact, I think the big ass chicken pox scar near my left brow looks more obvious, and I've been living with them since I was 12.

Which reminds me of this picture that made me laugh, when Dilun sent to console me abt my brow injuries.

I'm Bruised Lee after all!

Sky Scraper cover version

I'm not sure why it took me so long to discover Boyce Avenue, but all the covers they've done is pretty awesome.
Pretty good arrangements done.

My personal favourite would be Sky Scraper, featuring Megan Nicole.
Look at her! She is pretty and talented.
Nao, why can't I be like her, and be able to play the damn musical instrument, AND sing at the same time.

Seriously, my "playing" alone is already sucky.
Add the singer, and I realized that I cannot multi task.
Tsk.

I'm destined to be a green eyed monster this life when it comes to watching talented musicians on youtube.

oh and there's also this hot korean chick playing the "guitar" with her Android phone that I posted on Facebook last year...

So inspired, I went to download the piano app on the phone...
Fail!
Phone so small, keys even tinier.
waste time.

Playing with the app on the ipad is more do-able, but still not multi taskable.
I prolly need 2 ipads. hahahha!
#LifeSucks

My "favouritest" composer/arranger/talented musician lot would be Jon Schmidt.
His rendition of Love story meet Viva la Vida is like Fwah!

Embedding not allowed, but here is the link
Look at how both the pianist and cellist are so absorbed with their instrument, so together.
Something that I never could quite figure :S
Its people like them that inspires me to try and be better (once in a while) despite the lack of talent.

Okay, and I want that very nice looking Baby Grand if one day (unjustifiable skills aside) , my house is big enough to fit one..

Trixie in March

The Doggie's showing signs of improvement.
For example, she sleeps alot more whenever there is people at home - which is good, as it means that she's feeling at ease.

She also generally runs to the correct place to pee and shit whenever she's in a good mood, but can be a bitch when she's throwing her peeing fits - that's when she gets punished.

Today's official milestone - I walk over to her crate/cage, and when I suggest for her to go in, she hopped into her cage on her own accord, poked and rearranged her polka dot fleece blanket and promptly goes to sleep.

Awww... my little sweetie pie is finally grown up!
Gone are the days where I have to force her to enter her crate during bedtime, paw by paw and finally pushing her ass in to secure the gate clasp.
Happy!

Her crate seems to be her little safe enclosure that she hides out at, whenever I get mad at her for doing something naughty.
She'll flee and sit really still in it - as if she knows that self punishment would lessen her chance of being isolated.

She'll also offer me her paw when i'm chiding her.
Im guessing it's world peace with a paw.
I always call it her - one paw rule the world theory.

Human, here's my paw.
Will stop being mad at me for being naughty?
Irritatingly Clever girl.

Unfortunately, her anxiety seperation is still problematic for me.
I'll need to find more time to practise gesture leaving with her.
It obviously works for dad, coz he smokes so much -> goes in and out of the door, that she cannot even be bothered to follow him anymore.

Rwar!!
I'm happy that she's adjusting and showing improvement in the household.
Puts a smile to my face, knowing that the furry monkey is happy with me.
Here's a picture of my little darling offering her paw, to escape the camera.
Haha..

Human, here's my paw.
Can we not take peektures today?

Perfectionist

There's nothing wrong with wanting things to be perfect.

It takes a dreamer to come up with a vision.
Yet a vision without a series of action will only remain a dream.

There is nothing wrong with nit-picking.
A nit-picker who criticizes and learn from the problem is an opportunist
A nit-picker who criticizes and does the same thing or nothing is probably just a grumbler.

There is nothing wrong with having expectations.
Truth be told that the closer one is to me, the higher the bar of expectations.
And the mere passerby, I have none.
Coz if they are shitty, it's just easy to flick the shit away.

It's the ones that we hold close to, that we would expect more - just because they are special with so much potential to be better.

I used to wonder why the parents would pick possibly everything that I do.
Like if I showed them an art piece, that I've generated they'll praise and nit pick - and suddenly the art piece feels like rubbish.
Like if I showered and came out of the toilet too quickly - I probably didnt wash myself properly.
If I drink too much bubble tea, the pearls are gonna give you cancer, or the sugar - diabetes.
After awhile, it sort of gets numb - and classified as one of those you're never good enough theory.

But if we all ponder about it a little further, (at least I did) - its because the parents wanted me to be better than what I already am.

People alway lament about the what ifs in life, and compare their lives with someone else way off chart and blahblah.. and prolly end up being jealous and go way off with the Criticism.

Take this 16 year old girl by the initials of N.N - there's been so much hype about her - it's amazing how much haters she rakes in everyday.
I see tons of girls spaming her for putting on too much make up, for being fake, for hanging out with high profile people, for posting only pretty and augmented picture of herself.

Seriously people, that's how she dreams of her life to be at the moment, and instead of being jealous of her, or lament about how god is unfair, use that energy to propel some self improvements la.

There's a reason why she's the opportunist, and you're merely the grumbler.
She grows and improves from all the stuff people shoot at her, while the haters just keep hating her and dont do a thing to improve themselves?

Talk is cheap.
If you'll spend the effort and time to improve something, you'll see the results.
And if you put efforts into something, there's nothing wrong with being a showoff about it either.
Lol.

You want nice abs, you'll have to be diligent with the ab crunching and food abstinence .
You want an obedient pet, you'll have to be diligent in making effort to train your pet.
You want to look good, you'll have to put the effort in to do it.
You want better relationships with people, then you'll have to spend time and effort in knowing/understanding the person better.
You want to be rich, you'll have to work hard and smart to earn it (plus luck)
Nothing is free.

And everyone hates a showoff - but if you put in effort into making it good, it deserves some show and tell (instant gratification for good effort, no?).
Too much is annoying though.
Hahahha

Perpetual chicken and egg problem, if you ask me.
---
Back to the serious stuff, people can only throw feedbacks at you.
Whether you listen or not, its your choice.
But of course, sieve out the unnecessary ones and tell the rubbish ones to fug some spiders if required.

It also knocks out every bit of perseverance within, just to see how much substance you're made of.
That, my friend, is life.

I'm learning to suck it all up at the moment.
Yay! Because that is life too.

Hahaha.

Looking like a latte, and feeling like a Salmon

Ooh!
Finally found the spare time to rot for awhile.

This marks my first swim for 2012.
In March.
Gosh!
So much for my I shall swim weekly attempts.

Not sure why, but water has its way of calming me down.
It's rather soothing, if you ask me - just staring at the way it flows and move so smoothly and effortlessly.
Especially if its an infinity pool.
Pool at home, Y U NO infinity?!

I was doing the weekly swim rather diligently for 6 months last year, and the remaining efforts was spent *poof*

Which in turn also explains for why i'm looking like an unbaked pastry roll AGAIN - pale and essentially a moving blob of dough.

No, dont get me wrong, I'm not going to be a bitch and whine about being FAT.
I'll take it up one notch, and whine about how my tummy is a disgusting shade of color, and it reminds me of a cup of Latte.

Frothy white tummy +, brown limbs in varying shades.
OMG.
It's disgusting.

My pale tummy can glow in the dark literally!
Anyway its something that I've been battling for years... so no one will feel my pain, coz I make it a point not to blind people.
That is a commendable public service.
---

Changes.
Changes and more changes.
Always pride myself for adaptability.
Put me in saltwater, ok
Put me in freshwater, ok.
As long as there's a temporal change added in the environment for self amusement factor, i'm ok.

I'm not sure about where all the set fire on the bird's nest changes would bring me to,
but it definitely spells change.
LIKE MAJOR RENOVATION sort of changes.
I still want to be Daphne.
I still like my life alot.
Granted it can improve vastly in many ways (in my greedy opinion)
I am still grateful for everything I've been blessed with so far.

It's only March, and there is so much undercurrent like changes going about, since the start of 2012.
Everything dandy on the surface, but so much swooshing that only those submerged in the sea will feel and experience.

I know being tested will make me better in general, and I'll probably never be able to see the rationale behind it until a later time.

I can only hope and pray that all these changes are for the better, with minimal casualties - or better still no casualties, tears or goodbyes.
I'm only a small shrimp in this huge world, I just yearn to be happy :(

But for now, I feel like a salmon.
Freshwater, Saltwater, swimming against the current stream, I'll have to take it at my stride.
Steam, fried, grilled or sashimi - I'll still have to take things in my own stride.
Sigh.

On the bright side, at least I'm given opportunities to be tested.
Other wise, I'll never improve, and forever be greedy by wishing that life will be better with my never ending what ifs ? if only? why like that? why me? why? Why? why?

I guess it's similar to upgrading operating system.
With the NEW OS promising to be faster and better, but faces possible bugs and system crashes.

OS Daphne Version 29.03.12
Lol.

Aiyoh, so irritating.
I fell asleep post dinner, and now i'm WIDE AWAKE.
Dinner got digested while I was asleep, and so I reckon
Hungry and awake is a bad combination
Gonna food hunt

google tilt

Was reading 9gag and I found THIS!

Itchy hand went to try and it really tilted!
OMG!

Exciting or what?
There's apparently alot more strange effects that google did - and it gets cooler by each discovery.

Woo lala...

St Patricks Day!

17 March! It's St Patricks Day!
It's a day that is widely linked to Guinness for me, because it is probably the only time and way that I'll ever celebrate the occasion in full glory the Irish way!
Woots!

Look at this picture! Used to be my Facebook profile picture for awhile.
I took this when I had short hair! (2007 - 2008 I think?)
It was one of those picture that I took after working for the Saint Patricks event.
I love the leprechaun hairband so much that I've kept it all these years!

Vintage pictures aside, here is some St Patricks trivia!
Ok the geeklet in me is out again...

The color green, the shamrock and leprechauns are widely associated with St Patricks day.

Shamrock:
Shamrock, also known as the little clover, is believed to represent rebirth and life because of its color green.
It was also believed to be a sacred plant to avert evil spirits.
The 3 leaves of a Shamrock was a representation of the Irish's celtic mythology, representing
Past, present and future -
Love, valor and wit
Faith, hope and charity

Most importantly, it represented the link between the people of Ireland, their Celtic beliefs and their acceptance of Christianity.
This is where Saint Patrick illustrated many instances of Christianity concepts for the Irish people to comprehend and embrace Christianity.

Leprechaun
The Leprechauns, are elusive, merry little creatures who enjoys merry feasting and are often drunk.
They apparently possess the ability to produce a pot of gold, and is largely linked with Irish folklore.
In Harry Potter, the gold that they produced are also known as fool's gold.
The Leprechaun gold would lose its magical properties and disappear after a couple of hours, and only the goblins are able to tell the difference between the Leprechaun galleon, and the real Galleon.

Saint Patricks Day
The first Saint Patricks Day was celebrated in the United States, as the Irish immigrants gathered and marched down the streets in an attempt to reconnect with their heritage, and it later became a part of the Irish tradition in 1903 to celebrate every 17 March.

---

Ok back to my usual bimbotic post,
I worked sometime last week because some @#*!% bailed out on me.
This sparkly starry effect is also my new favourite filter!

17 March was also the Guinness Live Finals, planned in conjunction with St Patricks day at St James.
It was like World War Three!
Mad Crowded can?!

The only chance I had time to take pictures today, was when everything settled down.

I discovered the secret to looking young!
Just make sure the light source comes from the bottom!
Look so young and fat!

I shifted away from the bottom light source and instantly look older.
Blah!

I then dropped by Boat Quay after I was done with St James madness.
I was famished, I ate enough for 2, and spent an entire hour eating up everything I ordered.

That's when we met Jesscia the Collie!
According to Elizabeth, her Irish owner claims that the dog is a Guinness dog.
Firstly, she's black and white, secondly she loves drinking Guinness, but E would not dare to confirm by feeding the dog, even though the owner said it's ok to do so?
The owner also tied a Shamrock ribbon on her collar.
Awwww....The cutie pie is also super well behaved.

1. She wasn't leashed and is free to roam.
2. She runs back when her owner whistles - she roamed like 2 streets away ok!
3. She's dressed in a green ribbon for the occasion.

Only down side?
She's not a photo friendly dog.
I squatted there for the longest time for princess to take pictures with me, and she just wasn't interested.
She preferred the rice that Elizabeth and Claud fed her instead.

:(

Here's me laughing in my usual siao char bor (crazy girl) laugh while waiting for the dog to be photo cooperative.

Drinking makes her hungry too, (I guess), coz the dog just kept eating the plain rice.
I managed to get a vaguely decent picture though...
but you can hardly call that a chummy friends picture.
Wehhh....

I went home to dress up my photo friendly Trixie.
Yay! So much more cooperative after lots of cajoling and threats from me.
Hahaha.

Here we go!
My little furry Leprechaun!
Her chest fur made her look like she's got a very wise beard/goatee.

She just looks cute in this shot, so whatever, post up.

Here's one of me in my beloved hairband, compliments from Guinness.

That's about all.
Another round of celebration calls tomorrow, and it'll mark the closing of the St Pat's craze.
Good night.

*%#$! Week so far

Its been a swear worthy week for me so far.
It's not my character to elaborate too much about work, so I'll leave it as that.
And I even got puked on when I set foot into zouk.
It was some major projectile and It was absolutely gross and filthy.
Killed my joy totally.

Shitty week aside,
Been trying to comfort self that everything happens for a reason, so I'll just need to be patient and let things work out by itself and do lots of teeth gritting.

On the bright side, my broken window handle has been fixed!
Yay!
I went to the hardware shop at holland village shopping centre, and my hero dropped by to screw them into place. Woots!
Good bye gaping window whenever the air condition is being switched on, it's annoying to have a gaping window around.
It's also super scary whenever it rains!

The parents are back from their India trip, with pashmina, bangles, funky pants, leather purses and that's about it.

I hope murphy is done with his law theory, and that things will take a turn for good from here please.
This week's suay luck is totally unnecessary, and Im hoping that I'll lucked out on the Suay part by now.

Looking forward to some quiet time, perhaps a facial, a swim, online shopping and probably just walking really slowly.

For now, let's get cracking for st Patrick's celebration tonight!

One normal human please?

Came home after my late dinner and decided that it's photo time for the dog and I.
*bunny is shedding his winter fur, and is currently unphoto-friendly.

Snapping frenzy aside, I browsed through the shots and found this that made me laughed.

There I am in my :D face, and the dog's giving me that disgruntled/ exasperated face that suggest - Are we done yet?! Why do we need 200 pictures of us in the same pose?

Priceless!

Though in my head, I envisioned her thought bubble to be:

Why can't I have a normal owner just like the other dogs.
Mine seems to have lost some marbles in her head

Hahaha.
Love it!
Totally made my night!

One of those days...

It's one of those sloth feeling days when I took this.
Lazy.
Sloth like.
Slack.

Pink, purple, pearls - cant go wrong looking slack and girlie.
lalala~

Saturdaaaaaay!

The pappy and mommy went India for their honeymoon.
Ahahha. Lomantic max destination!

Wow wee..
So the story goes that my folks have been married for 30 years this very month in March, so I guess it calls for that ipad and the honey moon trip?!

So it's Day #2 being queen of the castle for me! *bullies brother, dog and bunny*
muahahahha!
---

Seriously, It's been a loooooooooooooong week for me, being a good daughter to daddy.

So far, I've been woken up on Monday gasping for oxygen
Woken up by the dad again on Tuesday - tasked to unveil the ipad and install games for mommy.
Woke up early to go for meeting with Dad for the entire Wednesday (panda+zombified max!) @.@
Thursday morning, dad woke me up to install more apps for the ipad - I swear I hugged the ipad to sleep with music blasting in tow.
Spent the entire Friday working! 11am - 11pm.
Wehhhh :((

*My Dad's tech savy, but he doesnt fancy using apple products..
Like when our router crashed, he purchased a new one that is not very mac friendly.
I was the only kuku at home who could not access to the internet.
*bleep*

Hahaha - so Little Miss Mac-Geeklet had to do some configurations on her own and ta da!
I reinstalled the router to be mac friendly and showed him my "yay!" yaoming.jpg face to the Windows snob Daddy.

So today! is the day I recover from the lack of proper sleep!
I woke up in time to drop by Scape to check on the girls over at the Barclays Premier League + Manchester United memorabilia display tentage - only to discover that SCAPE was having FLEA market!!
Happy or what?!

Met the brother for our "wafu" sauce pasta fix at Shokudo, Cineleisure - because we're "parent-less" for the entire week, and it was soooo sweet of him to shop at the flea area with me!

Here's part of my cheap shopping loots for today
Bought 2 new heart shaped shades to add to my collection... $2 each!
A marie cat necklace going for $3
the Lightning ring for $4
The little red bow for the work phone, because my work phone looks super boring!
I think everyone's sort of lost count and numb to my inventory of bow items.

It's never going to be enough!!
Even the marie cat pendant haz a purple bow!
Nice!

Im kinda lazy to take pictures of the clothes that I bought, so that's all for show and tell!

Before scape, I also saw this very cute dress when I dropped by Orchard 313 to stock up on my essential oil.
It's essentially a buttoned up cotton dress in a nudish pink/peach shade with cut out holes at both sides of the dress.

I tried the dress on, and I think that its uber cute!
But I've got no idea why the fabric at the sides is ill fitting though.
The side profile has so much spare fabric, i can hide the bunny in it!

Love the color, and the dress matches really well with my bow/ribbon necklace too!
I like!
But can also see my scar at the cut out area, and I probably would have to drop by the tailors to fix the excess fabric - just because I'm too lazy to alter it myself..
Weh!
Dilema max!

Tweets, ipad and bug(s)

Was reading through my Tweet timeline, when I saw a post that made me laughed.

@ZodiacFacts - as a #pisces, once you've decided that you have to wear shoes, you will buy a multitude - for your toes have a right to a variety, if not freedom.

Hahahha
It's totally true.
When my black ribbon leather cuffs died. I decided that I'll need a new one.
Spoil 1 cuff, end up buy 3 new ones.
I'm the sort who's damn scared that I'll run out of my favourite things or essential items like water or food.

Ring, shoes, and bags and clothes and stuff.
Why get stuck with one, when you can have many?
That's like the closet hoarder peeking out.
I think they call that OCD?

But if you see it in another way, its because I have to have something badly ~ which sparks off the creative bit in me to create whatever it is that I have in mind, just to keep things in balance?
Whatever that keeps me sane..
---

In other news, the dad bought the mother an ipad 2 in 64gb.
I have no freaking idea why my mom would require a 64gb ipad just to watch her dramas online.
It's like in his own words, he could have used the $ to buy 2 ipads can?
Ok, for household peace - it probably was a good choice for him to get just one ipad.

I preloaded some games and apps and spent dinner time giving mommy her ipad crash course on ios!
She's not too bad.
Much much better than the Android OS induction the brother and I have to give when she swapped phone.

Mommy's tech savyness just leveled up again.
So proud of her.

Dad's insane to ask mommy to bring her new toy for their coming India trip.
Dafug if it gets stolen there can?

*sparks off hoarder instinct again*
EVERYTHING has to be maintained at pristine condition.
It upsets me if I lose or spoil or scar any of my belongings.
*heartpain*

There's this mysterious bug in the house that goes around biting me.
I'm currently spotty looking on 1 leg.
7 bites just on my left calf.
1 on my left wrist and 1 on the right calf.
Damn itchy, and i've taken multiple baths and it's still not helping.
Urghhhh!
#ItsNOTaMosquitoBite.

Gonna vacuum, even if its 1.30am at night!

My twenty something birthday

Age is such a sneaky little thing.
In a blink, it increased itself again.
Haha.
As with the past year tradition, here's my pre birthday picture of self
So old already, still have not out grown the narcissistic factor yet!

Every year is a different learning journey for me, and I'm grateful for all who have taught me stuff - big or little, its made its own impact in shaping me into the way I am, the friends who stayed by me happy or sad and all who remembered me la!
People who know me well, know that I'm not one who's big on huge pompous celebrations and stuff, and its truly the littlest things that matters to me most.
aww...

I realize that as we age, its no longer the gifts or fancy schmoozy stuff that matter, but rather the quality of time spent that became the most treasured.
Perhaps its because materially we're all stable, and we've moved to a new stage whereby time never seems to be enough - which is quite unlike the days where we were juvenile little kids, with too much time on hand, and too little money to spend!

Anyway, I started pre celebrations 2 days in advanced -
X brought me to the Universal Studio to play for the entire day!
It was a surprise trip, because I was forever complaining that no one would go to the USS with me
*love*
Like everyone has already been there, no time, no guts etc.
Because my actual birthday fell on a Saturday, and that we're generally free-er on a weekday + could beat the crowd and waiting time.
BEST EXPERIENCE to start the year with so much swooshing in the gut!

And a weird "halter" tanline.
Funny how I had a funny tanline last year, and now this year, with the same partner in crime somemore!

It was pretty fun, and I was too busy taking all the rides to be bothered about the pictures and all, so pictures will have to wait!

I guess the main highlight to me was the Galactica Ride located at the Sci Fi city.
So which do you prefer? The RED one, or the BLUE one?
Would it be sickening of me to tell you that I actually prefer the BLUE ride better?
Lol.
Save for a few crazy people, the rest have shown me a sickened look when I told them about my Galactica preference.
Serious! I was smiling mid screaming in all my candid rides!
But all quite tak glam - so I didnt bother about the photo pictures.

Transformer ride was pretty cool too. We went for it twice!
I'll post a separate entry on when I get the pictures yeah?

Stroke of midnight!
Was whisked away to Holland village for a surprise icecream cake!
*beams*

I had to work alittle on the eve of my birthday, and Claud tipped off the girls about my birthday, so we had a mini celebration in the.... wait for it.... toilet!
Haha.
Touched nonetheless.
She also got me this very pretty jacket that I fancied.
I'm wearing it so much until its like my new uniform or something.
haha!

Even mommy used my new favourite jacket as a cheap tactic in her favour...
Like when she found out about my scheduled meeting that I have to attend with Daddy, she was like:

"Please dont go around wearing your shorts ah...wear something more meeting appropriate, there's alot of aunties and uncles there that know both your dad and I, for years."
kind of conversation...

Because she knows that I would possibly rebel and just go ahead with the shorts getup,
her immediate suggestion was " you could wear your new red jacket with your skinny jeans, or with a dress underneathe..."
Hah!

In my head: hmmm Red Blazer with grey skinny bottom and Red Heels.
Ok Deal!
At least she knows that there's no way that I'll do the corporate look just to erm...please her?

Ok, back to birthday right?

I had 2 dinners with the family.
The paper basket steamboat we had was an informal one on my actual birthday
But the pork collar meat is awesome, and the soup is yums as well.
Finished up everything in less than an hour!
Definitely gonna head back for more soon.

Random cupcakes with that Pretty butterfly ring.

I suggested trying out Meat Haven for the actual birthday dinner, and we had more meat.
*om nom nom*
Travelling to Jalan Kayu was like travelling to Malaysia!
But The ribs is niceeeeeee!
Managed to take pictures of my smoked pepper soup this time.
Woo lala~

The to-die-for-ribs (serious, I hate eating ribs coz it's so troublesome, but this ones are worth the effort. Could not stop raving about it since the other Daphne's birthday last year.
The fam shared the meat platters, so we could sample everything!

The ribs in 3 sauces - I personally like the sauce with the sesame seed best!
We chose MeatHaven BBQ sauce, Applesauce and Korean BBQ sauce.
No idea which is which...so hello Sesame seed!

The black pork belly that melts in the mouth.
Hmmmm fatty fatty is nice!

Baby beef short ribs is awesome as well - by the time it arrived, I was too engrossed with my food to bother about pictures.
But compared to the first 2 dishes, it was average.

Lastly, the durian fondant for desserts, paired with Vanilla icecream.

Random shot of me trying to show off my newly acquired butterfly ring from the random cupcake!
Not forgetting my birthday red jacket!

I know right, can barely see the design, but for the color.
It's got zipper, casual more biker chickish inspired, #imo

Claud also made me a very pretty photo collage.
I know how painstaking it is for her to sit still and do something artsy, when she could be all over Singapore doing something else.
*hugs*
and that picture of me eating my heartshaped icecream is love!

Mr Wibowo also flew back for my Birthday this year, albeit the slight delays due to work
*touched*
He offered to watch Wicked the musical with me, but to our best knowledge, both of us were unable to crawl up in time to catch it, so we decided on Brunch at Dempsey instead.

Ben had a long whatsapp conversation with me which was deeply appreciated, coz since the arrival of Thaddeus, our friendship time is quite limited due to commitment issues.
But I'm a very understanding Auntie Daphne + last year's celebration from Ben and Fion was pretty awesome, and its truly the thought that matters more to me.
Hahaha

Of course not forgetting all the wishes and blessings that I've received from Friends and Family through other mediums like Ang pows during CNY (coz my chinese birthday fell on some CNY day), and facebook and messages.
So much love!

You know how people always say count your blessings?
Yep I counted and am thankful for every blessing that I received.

I also ate up most of my HELLO KITTY biscuits already.
wehh....
Every night hungry girl what, what to do?
