Nokia prism

I was flipping through the ICON magazine that was sitting on the dining table, over noodles and i chanced upon this! The nokia Prism series! Well they look cute and sort of sleek in design. The concept reminds me of a gleaming ruby gem! and i think it's pretty!
The Nokia 7500.

and the nokia 7900 prism

the not so pretty back of the 7900, which in my opinion is the ugliest part of the phone, based solely on pictures. Then again, my random craze is based solely on my attraction to the color scheme and the gleaming "bejewelled" appeal. Wait til i lay my hands on one, before concluding if it is a phone worth getting.
After all, a phone must not only look good, but function well too! HAhahaha.

For now, i'll still be happy sticking to my pretty white SE W850i. Only problem is, almost every girl that i know, seem to own a pretty white SE W850i too. Gah! So much for being unique. Hahahahah.

Blue Mag we love!

Was reading Larlin's entry titled To Blue Mag with love, and it occured to me that school life is almost reaching its end soon, and i am indeed glad to know that my existence in the much hated SIM, did make a little difference to my friends.

Without them, i would not have come to terms with my hatred for school, and in fact learn to accept school as the way it is.

Thinking back, I recall hating school tremendously. I was crap in all the subject modules that i was taking (and still at it now), and i couldn't really get along with the friends that i was hanging out with back then. Council seemed like the only outlet for me, as it was the only thing that i was better at, in comparison.

It's cute to reminise, and ponder about how much everyone has changed and grown, and particularly how much i have evolved mentally and emotionally as a person. I am ever so thankful to have met a few dynamic individuals who have played an important role in shaping and altering my perspectives.

Learning to "give chance", this impactful individual left an impression in my life. He taught me the true theory of leaving no man behind, and his actions provided me with a new introspective towards how a good leader behaves.
We may have our shares of violent quarrels back in our council day, but we also had/have our share of random violent laughs about everything else.
Coming from the words of an obnoxious girl like me, he is indeed someone i truly respect in school.
By repect, i mean taking advise , and willingly heed instructions, without questioning, opposing and rebelling. After all, everyone knows how feisty and defiant Daphne can be on a daily basis.

So yes boss, if my attendance at the Chalet is required, my attendance it shall be.
No matter what job that comes my way, be it $40, 50, or a thousand an hour, i will be at the chalet. *Thank you for changing the chalet dates for me, and you still owe me 5 mins of turtle in the atrium!
- salutes-

Not bothering about how people would view and think about me has always been an integral part of Daphne, after all, i come as i like, i leave as i like, and i dress as i deem right. NO one tells me what to do, much less for me to bother about being appreciated and liked by the masses. It's no surprise to hear that i left a distinctly scary, aloof and unapproachable impression on most girls . Hahaha.

To that, i've learn to soften my facade, but i swear that i'll look like a retard if i start walking around school smiling like a halloween pumkin to every crazy ass that i meet, and there is a certain image that i have to keep up, so attitude = style. I am sorry that i have to maintain my image of aloofness as ice queen. Hahahha.

However, I am thankful for the handful of girlfriends who despite my very austere exterior, have sweeten my school life like ASPARTAME! Artificially sweetening my very gross school life! Hahaha! Lame, i know.
It's often not easy for me to relate to girls, mainly because i hate talking about bimbotic subjects, as it's too superficial for my liking - for i cannot bring myself to lie with my eyes wide open, declaring to a fat girl that she's skinny, just to go through the entire girl talk ritual.
It's good that you girls love me as the way i am, taking well to my blunt and truthful retorts (i hope!)

I've also learnt to be vegetarian friendly, though it seems like it is no longer necessary anymore ( i'm proud of you!), and i have grown myself some tolerance in the process (despite still having a lower threshold as compared to everyone else), it never fail to amaze me, that Blue mag has like a neverending threshold towards our egg disposing friend therefore sparking off project "give chance", but i really prefer to observe the project as a third party, rather than to immerse myself into the project.

In deed, i learnt not only tolerance but kindness, patience, commitment and goodness, from my fellow gossip/bitching lecture comrade-in-crime (who so happen to dye his eye brow to match his hair color), with his commitment to what i call his social project, and for going along with most of my crazy idea, like consuming my fruity vodka conoction, rose wine and many whatnots, while we were slaving over projects, listening to my rants during lecture, and Zouking.

I'm not going to name every single thing that every individual has done to shaped my perceptions, because it will take forever, but in truth, everyone has taught me something, be it a direct or indirect matter. And most importantly, for all our crazy antics, Blue mag rocks!

Just think about how we have all learnt to be alcoholics! For that matter, just start counting how many individuals have puked during or after our gatherings?
For starters, Daphne puked at Kenny's house, Robin puked after leaving Daphne's place, and so did Lailin on a seperate occassion! Tsk tsk tsk. There must have been more, only that i wasn't aware of it.
So you see, what bad friends I have! Hahahaha.

Forbidden city, wild bunch, and nu you 2007!

Judging from my actions, you could tell that they were really candid. I was looking totally ugly that day! The aftermath of facial! Spotty dots littered across the face! No face gook! Crazy hair, and that's Daphne in her natural state for you! The evil neh neh still wanted to capture random pictures of me! Tsk tsk, how could you?! Hahahaha! It was lucky that i reacted in time!
I ended up buying the entire array of shoes there! How frightful is that?!
(nahhh only bought the black one that i tried on. Heeheehee)
Next day, while studying with the boys + Lailin... i bought this for a snack!
Ooh, it got me thinking about doughnuts for days!
I've been having too much food cravings of late! Bad! I'm sooo gonna get fat!

One moment it was doughnuts, next was white chocolate, followed by Black Caitaokuay (Carrotcake), Marigold peach jelly, and now the Wagyu burger -No time to venture out to satisfy my "exotic craving :( .

Some days later, I went over to Clark Quay for a "drinking" session, and i took this! It's soooooo pretty! Especially after the fountain was shut down (later in the night), i was tempted to prance and dance around the place, because it was soooooooooo pretty!
Short of the fact that everyone would think i'm mad, i was also feeling alittle shy about it.
But it's a real nice mental image though! Hahahaha.

We then snucked over to the forbidden city, and sat around for a few hours. The place was quiet, considering that it was a monday night, and the chandeliers are pretty!
So i kept taking pictures of them.
Mr ugly fish and his friends swimming around (it's huge and really hideous!)
I'd say that the exterior of the place seem more promising than its interior, because of the display of the terracota soldiers, and its name. However, the lack of congruency in concept for its interior was disappointing.
In the toilet... fooling around with the mirror
and there's my usual "apparition" hiding behind me in the mirror!
Oh! oh! The skirt! I altered the looks of it! Lalala, don't you think it's cuter?! Remember in my previous entry, i mentioned that i made a mini pleated skirt, and thought it was alittle too long? After alterations, i think it generally looks better now! Something to do with the contrast edges, i'd think!

So the story goes...i decided that a particular dress is too long for my liking, so i trimmed off some of the length, the excess fabric from the dress was then attached onto my pleated skirt.

Excess fabric from triming my pleated skirt was then transferred onto a top, that is to be converted into a halter top! The straps of the top was losing its elascity.
Chain effect from 3 pieces of clothing! What greater way to innovate? Hahahahha!
The sense of achievement that one gets from sewing up a mini skirt from the scratch, is priceless! *beams*

Met Ben for lunch today, and we decided to venture over to Wild Bunch for a drink, after a heavy lunch at Sushi Tei. Turns out to be a mistake on my part! I knew Wild Bunch was a juice bar, but what i didnt know, was that Wild Bunch serves only organic Vegetable juice in shot glasses! Urghh! Talk about grossness level 20! The wheatgrass shot that we each ordered, was horrible! I made Ben drink up my share, and he made a peelfresh statement after that "any fresher, you'll have to eat the grass youself - i feel like a cow". That made me laugh reallly hard! Hahahahha!
We were served a little tiny cup of what i'll call "hamster food", comprising of sunflower seeds, sprout beans, that orange chinese herb thing that mommy cooks in herbal soup that taste like raisins (I've been informed by the experts that it's wolfberries!), there's of course raisins as well, and many other unidentifiable nuts.

Well next time we're playing drinking games and forfeits, let's bring up the stakes and drink veg juice in shot glasses! Woo Hoo!

In case you're itching to give veg shot a try, Wild Bunch is located at Holland Village, in a neat little corner tucked underneathe the windmill food court. It faces pet lovers, and is along the same stretch, as when you are heading towards provence.
-
I had my hair trimmed yet again, and this time, most of the curly permed bits are gone, and everything looks alittle flat and less volumous from my perspective. So i made it look alittle more interesting, with the help of my curling tong, and gave myself a slight flyaway hair effect!

I think it would look a little cuter, if the intended effect was more dramatic and drastic. So we'll see!
-
I dropped by the Arena at Clark Quay, to support Quacks in the Nu you: Men we love 2007 competition. I was late for the event, and therefore i missed out on his Q&A session, but i managed to vote for him!
The winner turned out to be someone that i would never dream/imagine/thought/expected/guessed in my wildest imaginations to get the prize. There were many better looking, and hotter guys in the competition la! So why him? Goodness gracious me! However, I would think that it was a good experience for Quacks!

Miss campaign manager says: Try not to think too much about the Hamilton watches... prizes are often a good way of clearing unpopular stocks. Hahaha! And at the end of the day, we are all winners in our own ways! At least you have a small fan base to speak of, Yay!
-
Union tonight was good.
Spinning 5rounds consequtively before "toppling" over is fun!
*smiles*

facial again.

I've been really disgusted at my complexion of late, since my return from Bali.
I've waited long enough for that crappy skin to tide over.
Too long!  Until it seems like crap skin is here to stay.

Therefore despite swearing off facials, I had to go down for one.
As usual, hurts like hell, teared like mad, and at some point.. wanted to punch the beautician for the inflicting so much pain.

Hahahaha

My experience today, reminded me alot of the last time I cleaned up my face.
You probably could read it here, and my face still hurts like hell!
Bruised to be exact.

Now i looked diseased, millions of red spots littered across the entire face!
I Do not intend to step out of home much for the next few day, and i think it would be a good excuse to force myself home, to study, instead of going out to play.

Skipped Zouk tonight, because of vanity.
But i am intending to salsa tomorrow night with just eyeliner and nothing else.
No powder, no primer, no make up base, NOTHING!
Just line the eyes to take the ugly attention away form the spotty skin.
Seems like i've turned into a blob of flab again, i need to dance more, because i feel FAT!

Went into " Kai" and fancied a sweetheart black satin top, with lace sleeve.
Tried it on, and i decided that the stuff in "Kai" aren't meant for fat people.

I'm neither fat nor skinny.
The chosen items could not fit me at all, I could not zip up the mini skirt, and had major difficulties zipping up the sweetheart satin top.
Seriously, for once I feel oversized and gigantic.

After all, what are the chances of Daphne, being unable to fit into the average clothing?
I'd say probablity is less that 10%!. But it happened just today!
Should buy 4D or something man.

Disgusted, Lao niang shall sew herself a similar top, once she's done with exams! Grrrr!

piperlime wellies!

Was chatting with Kang Wei on msn, and was checking out stuff off Gap's website, and somehow i stumbled upon piperlime! It's apparently their new range, labelled as "a fresh shoe shop from Gap Inc". I am in love with the polkadotted wellies! I think it has something that got to do with the colored polka dots, because i walked past a shoe shop with Zoe weeks back, and promptly went crazy over a pair of multicolored dotted heels.
I did not purchase the pretty shoes, because walking in "cheap" shoes hurts my feet.
I cringe to think about walking, but they're still pretty nevertheless! Heeeheehee
Click Here to check out Piperlime's full range of goodies!

of nails and Quacks support!

Met up with Ben for a good chat on Sunday, as i did not have the time to catch up with him the last time we met up. It was a good hangout place, and i would not exactly say that it's a quiet place, but the layout and surrounding was peaceful. Love the way the lamps are hung randomly, and i always have a penchance for that particular resort feeling kind of tree that is in the picture!
No idea what the exact name of the plant is called. But i always refer to it as my favourite resort tree! Now, if i have a nice plot of land to build a house, you will definitely see it in my garden!
Being bored, i decided to do up my nails. Took out my entire nail polish collection, all 68 bottles and laid them out nicely. Funny how i used to spend so much money on my nails. From Mac to Red Earth, and now i have settled for the cheaper ones from Faceshop. I used to be queen of nails back in design school, changing my "artwork" on a weekly basis to match my planned outfits. Well, all the way until the entire nail craze started locally, and manicure shops started sprouting up everywhere! That put me off fancy nails for the longest time, and i stuck to plain and simple French manicure, just to contrast the simplicity with the crazy nail art rage. I really like to go against the mass flow, if you haven't noticed.

Being in a crazy and bored mood, i'm gave myself a fuschia hot pink french manicure, with purple glitter tip. and random purple hand painted stars just for the witchy, funky effect. It's very extremely funky girly, if you ask me somwhat like bubble gum inspired. However, not everyone is able to stomach it. Gah.

Trying to fit everything into the shoe box, of which, i failed. i ended up filling up 2 shoe boxes - despite discarding away some old dried bottles.
Pictures of the little boots that i bought some days back! I wonder where i should wear them to?
Well i'll figure out an occassion for me to wear them out, as usual...
Now for the highlight of the night!
We have Quacks being one of the 25 men featured in the chinese "Nu you" magazine!
I'll guess it is somewhat like Cleo or Female's eligible bachelor in chinese!
I'm officially his external publicity campaign manager, while JZ, is incharge of the internal (office) publicity. Heeheehee!
I would like to think that it is rather fun being a campaign manager, only that i do not quite know what i am supposed to do exactly! But support me in my silly attempt in making a career out of this, as well as Quacks in the competition - coz half the guys featured in there aren't even good looking!

Therefore, go buy the October issue of Nu you, and vote for him alright?! Support Quacks!
because he looks so cute in here! *whistles*
In anycase, the finals will be held at The Arena at Clark Quay, on the 25th of October.
Yay!

If you buy and support him, i'll get him to autograph your copy just for kicks!! Hurry vote for contestant Number 13! Heeheehee!
Cheers!

bye snowglobe, hello christmans!

Going though random past entries of my blog, I realised that I have never officially written an entry to mark the departure of my snow globed world, while Quacks on the other hand, have probably wrote like a million and one entries about
Yes having left my pretty little snow flaked world for quite some time now, i have never really said this to Quacks: TYFLM.

I'm glad you've picked yourself up and moved on, no matter how hard it was, and i am also glad that you are still looking out for me, getting me out of trouble in little/huge ways that you can.
*smiles* i do appreciate our friendship alot. Yay!
-
On a lighter note, i have been told by a christmas enthusiast to start thinking about my christmas wish list! OMG! It's a little too early to start dreaming up on christmas presents, isn't it? Hahahaha.
Amusing.
-
I'm going to bed.
Feeling incoherent now. zzzZZzz.

shopping damages

Wednesday
Met Da at Chinatown for a Health promotion board casting.
We both got lost while trying to locate each other at the train station. How ridiculous can we be? Locals getting lost at train station. Hahaha. We made our way to Keong Saik road (that's where the agency is located at), walked a looooooooong way just to get to the office, only to be briefed that the job is for an "Aids awareness" promotion. When Da and i heard about it, you could so envision the drop of enthusiasm in our faces. Firstly, the job scope would involve girls to talk to blue collared workers about AIDS. Secondly, we had to be doing the talking/interaction at Geylang! So Shady and creepy!
So when i had to do a self intro on the video clip, it was definitely a half hearted, mousey and mumbly attempt in introducing myself. I couldn't help it! It's a natural reaction on my side.

After leaving the agency, we both vehemently agreed that we're not taking up the job no matter what!
I saw this after dinner! Body shop sale! 70%! I started rattling on excitedly to Larlin, and Steph about the sale, because generally, Kenny, Robin and Justin do not look like they will appreciate a bodyshop sale.

There's starbucks coffee after dinner with Vivi joining us.
Followed by a short Zouk session with the usual suspects. Hahaha.

Thursday I woke up early, and headed over to town to shop. Interestingly, nothing along Orchard Road caught my eye, though after getting onto the bus - i was flipping through the Benefit catalog, and stuff caught my eye! But we'll leave benefit shopping for another day!
Headed over to Suntec, and these are some of the damages done today!
I have a "thing" for pretty boxes, bought 2"suede" boxes from Bodyshop, 4 tubes of facial scrub coz buying 4tubes on sale price is equivalent to the price of 1 usual retail price. There's also the pressed powder for lazy days or nights.
and 2 boxes of face mask, and blusher that cannot be seen in the picture :)
I resisted the body gel, body lotions and stuff that were either redundant, or not worth the buy.

Post Body shop binge, there's also the usual clothes, and shoes bits of shopping.
Ah lala ah lala, shopping is fun! Hahahaha
*smiles*
Eek!

There's a fat jelly beanie blob of a "rat" lurking on my coffee table!
Hello Pebbles!

goodbye projects for now!

Yes indeed, this is Warhol inspired. It's funny and it looks happy!
After much discussion, it has been decided that the pink filter makes me looks best, followed by orange, blue, than green. HAhaha it's amusing because green was supposed to be the original picture, before the tweaking of the picture composition. Goes to show that without the help of photoshop, I am indeed ugly! *sulks* Hahaha

Well, I am rather glad that projects are more or less over! With the exception of Thursday's submission, i'm as free as a bird! Whoopee!
Good Bye projects for now! I'll see you again next semester, and if all goes according to plans, i will be mobbed by a million projects next year! Definitely a laugh and cry dilema!

For the past week, i have been functioning as if i've lost my head.
Incident 1
It was my first time going over to Wenndi's house for project on Sunday.
Armed with her address, and my capable road directions, i promptly reached her estate, found the house, and rang the door bell.
Maid came and opened the gates, i made friends with "Chat" the shetland dog, walked into the house, only to discover that there was no Wenndi in that house.
Flabbergasted by my recent discovery, i walked out of the "house" and called Wenndi.
Oh well, apparently, miss smartie pants was standing on the right house number, but wrong lane. Urgh.
I did eventually find my way to the right house in a matter of minutes, but mommy sure had a good laugh, when i related my sillyness to her over dinner.

Incident 2
Heading over to school for Global Marketing's submission on Tuesday, i was tired, grumpy and sleepy. I shoved myself into the cab as usual, and made my way to school.
As the cab was turning into school, i decided to be efficient, and prepare fare payments early.

Alas! I could not seem to be able to locate the wallet!
Considering the fact that the rest of the bag contained items that were really trivial to pawn or be used as an exchange of sorts, or items that were valued way above the fares stated on the meter, the next logical move was to ring Pris up and shout for help!
My sugar mommy of the day promptly came to save me with Money! Hahaha

I think 2 silly incidents are enough for now. Tsktsktsk.
Weiping weiping, a.k.a our dear Pris was fooling around with my camera just some days ago.
I thought it'll be funny just to load this picture up.
We all have very intense and serious expressions, all except for the photographer who was taking a break from her stuff!
Well, being busy, i could not find time to clear up my mess in the room..
So my side of the room is littered with clothes, belts, undies and bags. It seems like mess is a natural occurance in my life, and i would like to think that it adds character to my room, but in anycase, the characteristics of the room is becoming alittle too overwhelming for my fancy.
However, the mess in the picture is cute, alright! Hahahaha.

Mr smelly bunny scrabbles is showing signs of a coat change again.
He's gonna turn ugly, make my noise itchy, the floors furry, but still be irritatingly adorable.
His nose is adorable! Ahhhhh!

Received pictures from Zoe. It was the remnants from her birthday tea session. I thought this picture look vaguely cute, so i've decided to post it up. Hahaha.

The open face sandwish that she ordered. It was shrimp and fish that was done in 2 ways, cant remember its actual name but a Royal Coppenhagen specialty.
Cod fish for me! It came with asparagus rolls and yummy mashed potatoes. Nice!

We forgot to take pictures of desserts. :( But generally speaking, food was acceptable.
-

Highlight of the week!
Ben finally passed me the white PSP! Yay!
I havent officially spent much time with my new toy, but i like it so far, and i think it'll get better.

Met Crix, Jasmin and Josephine for tea/dinner/supper on Sunday night, and it seemed to me that they're very much into the Nintendo DS. The girls each have a pink DS, while Crix's is a limited edition red. Am i missing out on something?
Hahaha, not that i am much of a gamer anyway.

Shopping and bumming here i commmmeeeee!

*in reality, it's the start of studying break. I shall attempt to be conscientious, and start on my studying routine soon. *sigh*
