Donut, Pnut and Walnut.

Being so busy, i totally forget to announce the arrival of the baby hams!
I'm officially adopting another 2 baby hamsters on 13April 2008.
The 4 babies arrived 2 sundays ago with their mommy in a pink little cage.
They barely opened their eyes hours before reaching my place, as their owner randomly left them in my care before she went on a holiday.
They were sooooo small. About the size of my thumbs.
During her absence, i was to decide on which 2 babies i'll like to keep forever, and to return her 1 mommy ham and her 2 baby ham.
Pictures of the hams!

We have the mommy eating at the corner in the green bowl and her babies.

The exhausted hamster mommy sleeping, while her babies helped themselves to milk...
hahahha!

The baby hamsters grow up really quickly, and as of thursday night, Da and i had a hard time picking out the 2 babies that we've agreed on - and the conclusion was to pick the 2 runt of the litter.
They are officially Peanut the explorer, and Walnut the non explorer.
Their other 2 siblings tt we will be returning are flash the squawky, and the biting baby.
The weird names were based on the predominant characters of each baby we've decided on exactly which 2 to pick..

The explorer came about because it is always alone exploring the nook and cranny of the cage, and rarely runs to its mommy for feeding (which is why it is soooo small). Explorer is also the bravest of the lot, and it never once panic when we held it in our hands.

While Non explorer on the other hand is always sedate and not very hyper (i detest hyper hamsters, mainly because its tiring to catch up with their speed).
That's exactly how Da and i concluded on the selection of the 2 hammies.

Squawky, which is also known as flash, on the other hand is panicky, zooms about really fast and hates/is scared of the human hand (It's the first one that got eliminated). While the biting one - for obvious reasons is out as well, because of its tendency to nibble (just like its mom)
My fingers were quite well chewed on during their 2 week stay, and i had to fling the mommy hard to get my fingers back! Stupid!

Alright, enough of the new additions, here's updates on Donut- she's VERY fat now, exactly like how her name suggest, and she's nice and squishy to hold onto.
She bites/nibbles occasionally, and is no longer hyper or squawky.
Tremendous improvements compared to her initial arrival. Hahahha.
i managed to sneak a picture of Donut sleeping flat on her back, you can now see how fat she actually is.
We are now wondering if we should let Big donut meet tiny pnut and walnut to play on neutral grounds.... but only worried that the big sister would bully the 2 young ones....
Hmmmm should we, or should we not?
