Photologue of the Cityscape Singapore

Tasked with a photo project, I conceptualize the idea in my head, and embarked on a night stroll along the city scape of my dear ol' Singapore.

I present to you my photologue of the Esplande + Fullerton + Marina Bay Sands area in the happy company of Claud, who has kindly agreed to accompany on my little photologue mission.

Taken 100% with the use of my iphone 4s, edited and tweaked with photoshop according to my original concept proposal...

Like how dorothy in Wizard of Oz saw only green in Emerald City,
I present to you Singapore tweaked to my fancy.
Hahahha

I'm quite happy with the quality of the pictures, with the exception of the zoomed up blurry picture of the esplanade.
Not too bad for a first timer #imho   :)

Random Thursday

Hello!!
Testing out the blogger app on my mobile phone with this picture!
I believe mobile blogging has just been made convenient!
Except for the tagging bit, everything in blogger app is quite a dream, as compared to my previous experiences!

---
psst! It really works!!!
Waaaaaay better than my 2 attempts in 2008 at mobile blogging.
Loading pictures and stabbing my HTC touch.

It was exactly the HTC touch that put me off the iphone for AGES - let's see, I wasnt interested in the iphone, iphone 3G, iphone 3GS, or the iphone4.
Windows based phone and touch screen gave me a huge nightmare.

Hahaha.
Not that i'm a total convert about my iphone (I still miss the keyboard typing of my blackberry), but I'm ok with it, since there's like a billion and one entertainment to offset the shitty autocorrect.

The sides of my face (including my ears and side burns area) is suddenly prone to having tiny pimple bumps now.
I figured its because the surface of the phone is kinda dirty and grimy from so much bacteria, transferred from whatever -> hands -> phone -> face (inner OCD speaking), but it's true isn't it?
#welldone

Buying Trip Fall/Holiday 2012

In my previous post  in early July, I scooted over to Shenzhen for a quick buying trip for Fall/Holiday 2012 season for Daddy's newest baby.
I did mention that it was my first trip ever ALONE right?
(I know, so old already, still so dependent on everyone to take care of me...yada yada)

A happy/excited big baby before taking off from Singapore.
It was boring flying 4 hours alone with no one to talk to.
Armed with music from my iphone and a great book from a friend from Sweden, I survived!

I was seated next to this Brunei-ean couple about the age of my mom and dad.
I was kinda scared to excuse myself for the toilet, because I was seated by the window, and its a chore to get "elderly" people to stand up and make way for me.
Hahahah.
I waited til my bladder's about to burst and could hold no longer and excused myself in my nicest, most polite, most poor thing voice to ask to go to the loo to relieve myself.
hahahahha.

Dad arrived with the driver at the airport, and took me to the hotel.
It's quite budget, coz there was something going on, and most hotels in the vicinity around his office is packed. He booked this one on the recommendation of his friend who's got some discount membership thingie.
Cost about RM108 after discount? It works out to be slightly over $20 a night.
But surprisingly, the room deco suits me!

I entered the room and fell in love with the cozy corner.
Especially the lights!

Here's a close up!
sitting in that spot makes me happy!

I know right? I made my mess the minute I enter the room! Book, passport, cardigan, Bags, all strewn on the table.

After making sure that the room is secure and safe, the daddy left and went off!
I decided that I was hungry and went out to get myself some food.
(When I arrived, I was already eyeing at the food stall located downstairs, and everything smelt awesomely delicious)
There was a grilled store (selling sticks of vegetables, meat, and blahblah) and a fried noodle store.
I settled for fried Kway Teow, because it was already midnight, and I needed to be up by 8.30am.. so light meal and its sleep!

My noodles - a combination of Rice noodles, chilli flakes, spring onions and egg + oil is mad delicious!
Rwar! I call it the $1 (RM5) chinese phad thai!  Lol.
I took pictures of it in my camera, and i'm sort of lazy to reach for the camera at the moment.
Everything shown here is from the phone.

I ate my supper with my book #foreveralone, showered and went to sleep.

Sleeping alone in a King sized bed is overrated.
I tried to sleep like a starfish, and I couldnt fill up the space much anyway.

Woke up the next day and started off super early.
Outfit coordinates for day #1.
Decided that going monotone is probably as serious as I can be, without looking stuffy and boring!
Decided to throw in a blazer, just in case the China culture is crazy about dressing up or something + I hate being cold.

Cabbed over to the office, and met the team that I would be working with + the cats!
Aiyoh, I have shitty pictures of the cats, because they wouldnt keep still for a family picture, plus it was summer shedding (they look patchy), so I settled for just making friends and playing with them. :)

Post lunch, I spent the entire day selecting outfit after outfit after outfit.
We were on our feet for hours!
It gets tiring after awhile.
Here's the tip of the iceberg..

My favourite person in the team would be Catherine.
Im a bad friend. I have no pictures of anyone, but myself.
Hahaha.

I'm closest to her because we're the same age, and her past experience with Malaysian and Singaporean colleagues allows her to understand my slangs and conversational style pretty well.
Besides we are both kinda direct when we converse, therefore we get along the best!
Yay! Someone understands me!
My conversational mandarin is terrible!

Finally like after much Overtime working, we left for the usual chinese restaurant seafood dinner.

Dinner is crazy.
There was like 20 over dishes for 9 people!
Dad ordered the seafood and meat, and told Catherine (she loves vegetables) to order the veg.
Guess what? She went on an ordering spree and We had like 5 mega plates of vegetables on the table. Goodness!

But Cat and I managed to clear off most of the veg anyway.
I know I'm known for my bottomless pit right?
I finally met a female who eats more than me!
Happy or what?!

Post dinner, KTV time.
Daddy's welcome party for me. -_-"
This place has nice decor. KTV salon (that's literally the name of the place)
The system is rather different.
They rent the karaoke rooms out by packages.
It comes with beer, food, and more food.
I love their pickled dishes served to be paired with beer (I really hate pickled food in SG..)
Even sliced cucumber dipped in soya sauce tasted good.
Hahahah.

We sang our throats hoarse, they all drank like fishes...and I was living on bottled water and coke. #spoilsport

Day#2 outfit coordinates
Sidebow jeans with my baggy slit slant Tee!
I figured its ok to wear anything I like, since everyone seems cool and there really isn't any dresscode (I made up the dress code in my head)

Okay, also the psychotic Daphne in me also over packed.
I had like 4 outfits for 2 days....
I changed out of my jeans into my red india pants before I took off back to Singapore (no pics though..)
I spent my second morning getting lost in the city.
The cab driver couldnt understand where I wanted to go, and brought me just about the entire town.

I was so late, Cat thought something bad happened, as I was 30 mins late!
I arrived to see her rushing out of the building, she was making her way over to look for me at the hotel....
and I feel bad causing her to worry unnecessarily.

The sight seeing cost me an extra dollar (RM5), and a worried friend.

On a seperate note, I mentioned to Cat about my fascination with this Bruce Lee inspired chinese fast food, "real kung fu" restaurant the night before, and the only spare time we have for my touristy meal would be the morning.
She brought me out to their store for imprompt breakfast!

This is like Chinese Macdonalds yo!
Everything on their sign, has the emblem of Bruce Lee.

Reading this sign is quite an Engrish.com moment!
I thought its really funny if you google translate literally.
It will read -  becareful knock head,      Instead of Caution! Low Beam.

Lol!
Darn sure this is how engrish.com came about with the help of google translate.
Hahahahah!

I chose the vegetable congee and glutinous rice wrapped in lotus leaf combo.
Cat ordered savoury bun with soya milk and mao ordered the sweet bun with soya milk.
Eating buns in the morning is too dry for me. Wehhh

This is how my breakfast looked like!
Looks boring right?
It tasted mediocre. Personally tasted better versions in the local dim sum restaurants in Singapore.
Anyway...

I had to gobble my breakfast really quickly because the driver arrived and was waiting to pick us up.
It was selection and more selection...for work and when it came to lunch time...
We were told that the closest food source in the vicinity of the factory we were working at was.......

Real Kung fu!
They ordered the delivery version, and so I had Oriental mushroom chicken with steam rice for lunch!

Funny. Hahahah!
I cheekily asked Cat what are the odds of us having the same thing for dinner, and she gave me that "No please!" face.

Lol.
This is how my food looks like,
Steamed lettuce with sauce on the left platter, and my steamed mushroom chicken on the right.

Lifted off the top tier, and the bottom contains my steamed rice and some fast food version of Ginseng black chicken broth soup.
Well points for making packed lunch into a wholesome meal.
It tasted decent, but I'll stick to my original statement.
I've tasted better versions of similar dishes.

Definitely a good idea though!
It's quite the rage in China, from what I heard.

Back at work, I got quite bored of the discussion.
I Decided to try on some of the coats I fancied myself, instead of relying on the inhouse models to move around.
Dressing up is always fun!

As I was selecting for autumn and winter, these are terribly climate unfriendly coats for Singapore.
I'm seriously considering keeping a set of the following coats for future use.
But definitely not locally please!

I like this design, but perhaps not the color..

This are the light weight winter jackets, but seriously... it's going to be sweaty if I put them on in Singapore.
I super like this peach colored blazer.

This fuschia colored one is very "me"!
Matches my barbie pink belt, according to Cat.

I like! :D

To sum it, I'm really thankful to be very well taken care of this entire trip.
Claud offered to send me to the airport, ate Macs with me before I checked in.
The Brunei-ean auntie and uncle were nice to me on the plane trip to Shenzhen.
Cat took really good care of me the entire trip when Daddy was busy.
Dad gave me a whole wad of $$ to spend ( I didnt get time to spend at all?!).
It was a good flight back. I had leg space, the cabin crew were attentive. They had to dim the lights as it was night time protocol, but they noticed that I was really absorbed in my book, and kept the lights on for me.
Awww Hearts!
My trip home was with a friendly cab driver who allowed me to munch my Macdonalds breakfast in his car.
and I came home to a happy waggy doggy.

I really couldnt ask for more, except for actual time to spend the money that dad gave me ( I had zero real shopping time this trip), and not forgetting that Cockroach that creeped into my hotel room and disappeared under my bed after my counter assassination plan failed.
I tried smacking the roach with a hardy hotel slipper. IT didnt DIE.
Instead, it ran towards me. Dafaq much?

That was the roach's ultimate revenge to me.

I slept like a paranoid egg yolk.
I pulled and arranged my pillows and blanket to be smacked in the middle of the bed, and curled up.
It felt safer that way.
I guess I have to luck out somewhere, and sleeping with a roach for all the goodness I've received this trip was the deal.
Wehhh.

Ok the end.

purples and barbie pinks!

I've been feeling sickish the past few days.
Been busy combatting the flu.
I'm not sure if it's because of the seven month (lunar calendar / hungry ghost festival) and all the excessive paper burning and ashes and what not, but I fell sick on day #1, and this batch of flu is always triggered by sneezes.
It feels as if my windpipes nearer to the nose is extremely sensitive and raw.

Bright lights? *tears and sneeze*
Aircon? *sneeze*
warm temperature? *nose drips*

The flu is going random at the moment, and the feverish bits come and goes as well.
I'd like to call it my sabbatical sick leave - seeing that I only fall sick like once a year or something? Hahahahha

Enough of my boring shit whine.
Let's move back to aesthetics...

I'm falling back to my purple mode clumped with my faze for neon pink.. as you probably can tell...

Hahahahha.
It seems highly possible that I went on a color rampant shopping trip, but sorry to disappoint that most of my coordinates were already pre existing items in my wardrobe.
I did not buy everything new just to satisfy my new found walking grape craze..
*pleased*

Another one of myself in my purple and barbie pink coordinates.
Not forgetting the new barbie pink phone cover I've gotten myself, and the bag!
ahahahhaha!

Ok these are new...
If Barbie ever decides to be a doctor, this is probably how her work bag would look like!
Hehhehheh

and I bought these iphone covers at a steal!
$5 for the kitty, $2 for the remaining plain ones.
and I brought Claud along to buy hers the next day, just because I'm really not sure which colors would she really fancy
(the shop was selling tons of covers in various rainbows...so I could only shortlist what she might like...but better to make her select what she really wanted right?!)

The mommy saw my covers stacked on my table top, and asked me how many iphones do I think I have!
Okay she always ask the same question, but change the topic involved.

When I purchase a whole new pile of undies, and start sorting the new pile by color in my drawer... she'll ask me in an exasperated tone
"just how many backsides do you think you have?"

Same for swimsuit...
and clothes
and shoes..

To be fair, she probably also did ask the sister the same set of questions. :)
#firstworldproblems

Since I'm not keen on taking a picture of my very very very extensive and colorful collection of undies... fuelled by my personal backside ambition...
I shall share my recently packed accessories drawer, just because its very neat again!

Meet my legendary accessory Tower.
Bought from ikea,
Self assembled in 2 hours (which probably explains for the gaps)
and home to 80% of my accessories!

Sorted in order of color, with the first tier being the most frequented color, and black being the most boring..
What you see is just the surface and the tip of the iceberg, the bottom contains stuff that I rarely wear out - eg dinner/dress up worthy pieces.

Tier #1 everything girly, pretty and sweetie pie- the pastel pinks, creams, golds, bronze and pearls.

Tier #2 - the Reds, purples, fancy colors, bright pinks. This is where all the crazy colors resides. like my neon feathers packed up in the left top corner :)
This is probably the messiest drawer because of all the clashing colors!

Tier #3- the silver and navy hues.
They probably look alot better in real format, since silver rarely looks nice in pictures?
These are yet another set of staples, only that I haven't been wearing much cool colors lately
But they'll swing around again, in time to come.

Tier #4 - the monotones.
Black - personally, black was my least favourite color for the entire 2011.. and even if I do, i usually try to liven up the process by mixing stripes with dots... just so that I wouldn't look too dead or morticia adams.

I still get excited whenever I mix prints in monotones. :)
Dug this picture somewhere circa 2010.
Did this make up after watching the movie,  Alice in wonderland.
Figured I wanted to try out the "red queen" heart shaped lipstick!
It was too bad that my lipstick wasn't red enough to capture the heart-paint.
It's probably more Geisha, than Red queen.
Gahhhh.. Nevermind.

Lastly! Pictures of my new arm swag!
Everytime my beads snap (the rubberband holding them), I'll go back to the shop to get them repaired. and while waiting, my roving eyes will fall in love with a new set of stones!

Fluorite/fluolite - it seriously sounds like an ingredient read off my toothpaste, but I'm happy with these set of pastel rainbows. :)
A good touch to blend my purple and pink as an in between.
Maybe someday I'll have a stone cupboard for my tiny collection!
The white bow is also a new addition... breaking in 2 new arm swag is like a really happy arm party!

ok enough for one post.
I just found pictures of my china trip.
Perhaps it's worthy for a post another day.

Oppa Gangnam style

Oppa Gangnam style

This stupid korean dance and song is seriously addictive.
It's practically viral.
I guess it's too retarded to resist.
No idea what he's singing, but everyone seems to be sold on the dance and tune.

Hahaha
Who the heck dresses up like a douche bag and dance like a horse crab?
Goodness..
But I attempted the dance while watching anyway.
It's annoyingly addictive.
Hahahhahahahah

Like a human again..

Yay! I'm feeling like a human again.
Spent the weekend catching up with sleep, fixing my nails, and packing up my room.
I looted my room in preparation for the fashion show on friday, and guess what?!

Everything that I brought along - did not even leave my bag.
Not even a stitch of make up,
Outfits looks good without accessories,
Extra heels (in case someone's shoes breaks, or if something horrendous happens to any of the girl, and i'm required to fill up her slot)
Okay, I only looted just about everything in my room, because the anxiety tyrant in me decided that better prepared than to die ugly in any possible situation.

I spent my Saturday recuperating on the sleep, woke up to realize that the dad's leaving for the airport.
Rwar!
I decided to accompany mom + dad to drop dad at the airport.
Leaving for the airport was quite drama!
Mom kept reminding daddy to check if he's left anything behind (he left his camera charger his previous trip, and he kept whining about how he's camera-less, and the last time I flew to China, I got nagged at by the parents to remember THE FREAKING CHARGER).
and he kept saying, everything's packed, everything's packed.

We drove off, and 3 minutes into the journey, daddy declared that both his mobile phones are ....... at home!
Le sigh...
I had to leap off the car and rescue his phones.
As I write this post, he emailed to say that he left behind........
*drum rolls*

His comb!
Hahahahahah
Seriously!
I now know where I inherit that absentminded klutz genes from.

I can totally leave home all pretty and happy, only to realize that my wallet's at home!
Thank god most of the time, C's around to rescue me.
What am I to do without her wallet?!
Hahahah! (She's gonna kill me when she hears of this!)

Going back to sending Dad off,
I also persuaded mommy to drop by the sale, Hervelvetvase was hosting in their moving up office!
Their office was located at freaking Ubi, and in my persuasion effort, I told mommy that its "on the way home!"
Hahahha.

With my superb map reading skills via Google map, we headed off from the airport after dropping daddy, and made many wrong turns.
Mom and I finally got our asses to the HVV office!
Stepping into the office, we went about our shopping/combing business, and managed to clear the shopping in about an hour! Just in time for dinner.
The mommy emerged with the most purchase ( between the 2 of us), and I only walked away with one purple pants.  :S

To be fair, most of the stuff that I wanted ( I would have already bought them online, and the remaining newer collections, aren't quite available in their clearance sale).

---
I made a tulle skirt that did not require any sewing a couple of months ago.
I discovered the skirt in my digging about, and in line with my recent bralet craze, I decided to play dress up, and came up with this!
Hahahahha!

I'm not sure if my ballet shoes are still at home ( I think they died a natural death, and so, hello barefooted Daphne)

I swear its damn tough to take a proper picture with my legs up and pointing.
Everything's blurry in picture format.
Rwar!
Anyways, I've packed the flouncy skirt away into the corner of the room, and perhaps find a use for the skirt soon.

One DJ Daphne coming up!

Happy National Day, Singapore.

It's however a normal uneventful day for me, since Public Holidays means absolutely nothing to me on my end, just good time spent with the fam.
Hahahha.

Dad's back for his first National Day since 2002, and we saw him taking an unexpected walk - I fondly refer it as his monthly walking quota,
to get lunch (car malfunctioned while he was out yesterday)
Armed with the brother, dog and daddy, we headed out for lunch on foot!!
without the mom though, (since she's made her own plans), and it's pretty enjoyable.
Walking with the dad is like a phenomenal activity, no matter how mundane it seems, just because he's always believed in driving, even if its just a really short distance.

On other news, Happy 1 Year to Mosiac Dance!
I heard and saw that the anniversary party is lots of fun.
Unfortunately, I had to sit out from this party playing miss DJ :(
Rwar!!!!

I saw amount commitment and time the sister spent in the studio, I'm just very happy that Zee & Derrick have made it so far with the studio.
1 year old is definitely a big milestone!
Looking through pictures of the night, I found my favourite!
Picture of the Sister and Zee somewhere during their performance.
Awwww...

Anyway, last minute project stirred my attempt at sound engineering, and for the past 24 hours - I've been living off the same sound tracks trying to piece them together.
I'll stick to photoshop any day please.
Learning to control an audio software, fade music in and out, layering the tracks, slow the song tracks - im like a freaking noob can?

Wahhhhh I was desperate enough to google "audacity (software) for dummies"
and after an hour's worth of groping in the dark.....
I finally understood how Audacity works, and toyed around with mixes.
It's definitely a struggle, and it's been a while since I've forced myself to step out of my comfort zone to learn something so awfully new and out of my interest list.

But hey! I'm alive, alittle smarter and armed with a 20mins worthy soundtrack for tomorrow's event.
woo hoo!
The only thing that annoys me now?
The lack of time to come up with something better.
Then again, if time was on my side - I would not need to be doing this myself.
Lol.

Gonna pack and prepare for tomorrw.
Note to self :

"There is no such thing as can't, only won't. If you're qualified, all it takes is a burning desire to accomplish, to make a change. Go forward, go backward. Whatever it takes! But you can't blame other people or society in general. It all comes from your mind. When we do the impossible we realize we are special people."
  --  Jan Ashford

At this moment, I do feel really special about myself
*hearts*

Going to end this post with a random video of the dog.
I woke up and decided that I wanted her to "Knuckle" me like how boys do when they greet each other.... (she didn't learn this trick from me though..)
and being the lazy bones, she sort of decided to execute "knuckle" properly the second time, before she demanded tummy rubs from me instead.
#Spoiltbrat

Hello August!

I'm quite happy to meet August.
July has been rather fruitful, and I am looking forward to what August will bring!

Therefore some random updates in the form of old pictures taken in July.

The internet was down, and I took to some braiding tutorials for self entertainment, using my mobile phone.

This is me, showing off my first attempting in a 5 strands hair braid.
It's seriously effortlessly easy!
I understood the concept and executed it after watching the tutorial once!
Mimi's explained the concept really well, albeit that she really shouldn't talk so much at the start of her video.. and so here we go, the 5 strands hair.
Her hair is alot neater, since she's engaged the use of hair extensions in the tutorial, which in turn creates a more luscious looking hair, and thicker and neater braids.

My newly discovered bokeh app downloaded from the iphone for free!
It's called bokehful, and is a free app!
Allows me to decide where I want the bokeh effects to be planted at.
Previously, all the bokeh effects on apps are all pre- planted, and sometimes the bokeh might end up covering parts of my face or eyes and it annoys me terribly to be disfigured by an bokeh app, no matter how pretty it promises to be!

I took this before heading out to JB for a quick lunch in Malaysia.
Treat it as my short 3 hours get away from Singapore!

Was taking a picture with Trixie, when she decided to shower me with licks.
My expression is priceless, and my caption for this picture shall be:

The awkward moment when human wants to take pic and trixie is interested in sampling the face.

I'm not sure if my face taste good, but she seems to enjoy licking the faces and hands of everyone she meets in close proximity.
Yucks!

Dont get me wrong. I love Trixie, but I draw the line at being licked. In the face, nonetheless!

We took this, while we were out on our rare evening walks to the village.
I noticed that Trixie is a lot calmer, when we walk the usual routes.
She cooperates better - perhaps after 7 months, she knows my walking expectations of her.
She's taken to sitting down whenever we enter the house lift, at traffic lights, at the bubble tea store, and is an expert in scaling the flight of stairs at the pet shop, without me asking her to do so (most of the time).

On days when she decides to be a monster, I would threaten to turn back and walk home, preferring to take the stroll alone instead, when she proved to be a difficult walking companion - sparked mostly out from her joy and hyper energy of being able to go out.

In her hyper jumpy moods, I find her extremely unmanageable, and annoying,
for she would walk with only her hind legs, bounce around - which in turn leave scratches on me, and tugs on leash, causing my hands to hurt.
The dog hitler in me insist that I will only walk a well behaved dog, so on the bright side,
after my threats to turn back (which I would then turn around and take 3-5 steps back towards the direction of home), she'll calm herself down immensely and become manageable again.

I often wonder to myself, if she really understands me whenever I speak to her, or perhaps I've improved in my body language that she understands that I am the boss, and that if i'm displeased - I have the ability to take away the activities that she enjoys?

Anyway. I seriously need to sleep!
I fell asleep after dinner for over an hour, and sleep eludes me at the moment!
Going to attend Kemmy's church wedding at 10am in the morning!
How will I manage to wake up later?!

Tuesday, July 31, 2012

Invalid for a day..

I'm not sure how I did it, but I woke up with a crappy lower back.
Wincing in pain as I roll around to stretch out the muscle kinks - perhaps I did some saltimbanco worthy stunts while asleep.

more than 12 hours has passed since...
tons of stretching, wincing and whining...
I believe its getting better.
From sharp pains caused by any movements, to minor dull throbbing pains...
I believe its a great progression.

Time to order a vampire worthy coffin to sleep in?

apparently this doll is called Draculaura.
They make vampire dolls now?!
What exactly is the world coming to now?
Tsk
---
On other note, the internet at home was down since late Saturday.

I spent more than 24 hours without internet access, and it does horrible things to my mood.
Yeah, luckily the mobile phone is functioning..otherwise - I'd have turn very nasty.

We arranged for the service provider to send their dudes over...and they did not solve my problem at all!
(Faulty modem) and the dude told me that modem is working perfectly, and that the wires were loose, and i'm just a bimbo who know nuts about cables and all (so that was the feeling he gave me.)
WTF!

The minute he left, my modem crashed again.
Who's the smart alex now?!

That's it.
I turned into psycho Daphne, and took matters into my own hands.
I decided to swap modems.
(Technically the phone modem is healthy, while the internet modem was ailing...and I did a minute's worth of spot the difference - hey! they're the same thing right?! )

Called the ISP, demanded that they tweak the settings on their end, and viola!
Internet is up running on the phone's modem, and as for the phone.....who needs the house phone anyway?!

I dont.
*whistles*
i'm back to the virtual world, wondering why didnt the brains think about the modem swap like 24 hours earlier...
could have saved me alot of unnecessary blood pressure build up.

Well the dude's coming over with the new modem tmr morning.
He'd better get it right this time, for my patience is crepe thin at the moment.

Shopping alone.

Bestie's back for his food entitlement trip, and some way or another - I got reminded about something he said to me sometime back.

He said that my loner streak is extremely evident whenever it comes to shopping.
I can still remember the day he said that to me, and unknowingly - his words rang in my head just a minute ago.

I remembered the day where we had time to kill before a salsa performance, and everyone went about town doing their own things.
the boys mentioned about getting food, and I declared that I was heading out to shop - when the other girls stated their intention of hitting the shops too.
In response, I disappeared quicker than one can suggest "let's shop together".

Save for a few special people, I rarely shop socially.
I find it extremely annoying actually - for various reasons.
To think about it, perhaps the thought of spending prolonged time together scares me.
For it takes more effort to please another person than to please myself.

---
First of all, I believe that retail therapy is to be done purely at my own for the fact that everyone moves at a different pace.
Some faster some slower.
For when I set out to conquer a building, I WILL.
In heels, at my own pace, many hours without any rest and breaks- I CAN.

I find it odd to have to hang around in an uninteresting store for prolonged browsing just because its rude not to, because someone else is not done browsing yet.
Zzzzz.

Dont get me wrong. Like I said - I do shop with a few special people, but thankfully none of them in my special list happen to be wishy washy ladies.
My patience and team play doesnt go very far in this aspect.
Hahahah.

---
Not forgetting my very odd habit of combing the stores to every tooth and nail when I set my mind to getting a particular style/item that I set my heart on.
I can comb a building twice or triple it, if I think the item can be found within the premise of the building.

This insanity streak is something that a rare few can understand or withstand.
I hunt and source like a tyrant.
#truestory

---
I hate being hampered by opinions aside from my own, which is why I shop alone in the first place right?
But I get opinions anyway, even if I dont ask :(
Dafuq!

I think the most annoying opinion award would probably goes to my mother.

That woman never gets it. Ever!
We can have the same conversation by installments with regards to what I wear out.
Take my hair for example- She has to pick on my hairpiece or the way my hair is being styled when we are already in the midst of traveling, telling me about how they are too exaggerated.

Months later, she'll pick on another of my hair piece again when we're travelling.
Bless her perseverance!
By now, she should have realized that I would NEVER budge for anything in the world once I've set foot out of the house.
Lucky for her, she gets away with a million annoying stuff just because she's mom.

---
I also detest it when people ask me for my opinion, and still do the exact opposite.
For that, I never trap people by asking them for their opinion of whatever outfit I chose for the day.
Maybe it's because I'm not even interested in finding out at all?

Why ask?
Indeed one of the stupidest practise that the society does.
Social shopping? Bah!
Loads of humbug!

Black or yellow, she'll ask.
I say i'd go with the yellow, because it brightens one's skin.
And black she chose, because its easier to match.
zzZzzz..

Should I buy?
No, because it doesnt fit you well.
proceeds to buy anyway.
Seriously, I swear to god that you'll never wear it out, just because you'll never.
So why ask anyway when you've already made up your mind?

---
Lastly, I never understood the rationale behind dragging a guy along when one needs to shop.
Nothing gets accomplished after a day's worth of walking about.
Their opinions are from a whole new mind boggling dimension like - Sweetie, don't you already have a dress that looks something like this in another color/fabric/what you're wearing now?

*Exasperating*
Personally I think its more magical for outfits to be assembled and worn for the next date, than for them to see, sweat and take part in the entire process of wardrobe compilation.

Shopping alone proves to be good, for I'll never need to lie, provide socially pleasing answers, or risk boring my shopping companions.

Peace!

Trixie hates the smell of the bitter lime spray

Trixie has a terrible habit of licking her front paws. They are discoloring as a result of overlicking, and they always look as if I've applied gel on her paws. It annoys me how terribly messy she constantly is. I couldn't take it, and I bought the Bitter lime spray as a tool to discourage her excessive paw licks.

This is Trixie after I caught her at her third attempt in licking her two front paws.
So I took out the spray and threatened to erm...spray her paws.
Her reaction to the nozzle of the bottle is commendable, as she holds her breath valiantly.
As mommy puts it, her eyes are always full of expression!
Hahahah.

Okay, I did spray the bitter lime on her paws at her fourth attempt to lick them after this video.

Aspirin Face scrub

I've read raving reviews about using Aspirin mask and the glowing wonders it does for the skin.

Fortunately for me, I decided on the Aspirin Scrub, instead of a mask or toner or Blah...other skin infusing methods.

Being the curious kitty I usually am, I couldn't resist trying it out.
I bought my freaking box of uncoated Aspirin from Guardian Pharmacy at 11.30pm at night.
I love Holland Village for that. Yay!
I bought a box of 24 tablets for roughly $6

Based on all the googling I did, Asprin contains a chemical known as Acetylsalicylic Acid. Of which, Salicylic is an important key ingredient present in many skin care products - known mainly for the use against Acne, dandruff, as it has anti inflammatory properties.
It also helps to exfoliate - therefore it unclogs the pores and rids the skin of excess sebums / blackheads.

However, Aspirin does has its known side effects, and therefore I WOULD NOT advise anyone to pick up the drug the way I did and due-ly use them without reading up on its possible side effects and allergies symptoms etc..
Just GOOGLE Aspirin Side Effects, and you could possibly entertain yourself on its adverse effects of internal bleeding, how it is not suitable for humans below 18 years old, for pregnant ladies and other health related issue for a moment's folly of vanity's sake.
I will not be held responsible for any side effects or deaths you get from trying this Aspirin adventure.

So anyway,
I did the gungho deed, despite reading (yeah, I'm one of those really optimistic people who believe in enjoying now and worry about the effects later... ) and added water and 2 tablets of Aspirin to be used as a scrub for the face.

The Aspirin dissolved into a white pulp when it contacted water.
I tried to exercise care in scrubbing gently, as the dissolved bits were rather rough.

Wow wee!
After a quick scrub, the pores looked cleaner, with special emphasis on the T Zone (sorry no pictorial evidence but the black heads were really visibly cleared off)

And already I was calculating how often I should attempt my little aspirin facial and my new found potion to awesome skin.
Happy like a bird.

Unfortunately, I did not react very well to mediation, and after about an hour, I felt rather light headed.
Oops.

Apparently, I also found out that medication can be absorbed into our bloodstream when applied on the skin. So I guess 2 dosage of Aspirin is too much for me, even if it was a "Touch and rinse" affair?

I wasn't in any major discomfort, merely light headed and rather thirsty.
I chugged down some water and gave up on the novel that I was rather absorbed in, and called it a night.
I woke up happy the next day, with unclogged pores to boot.

Apparently some girl said she puked after her Aspirin mask.
Oh well, thankfully my supper remained in my system.

I told a few people about my Aspirin adventures and so far.....
X somewhat chided me about being so silly to be fiddling with medications, after hearing my story, and C said that she's going to give it a try anyway (despite my warnings of possibly discomfort)
and A who was present when I bought the Aspirin was skeptical about it being an awesome skin food.
I doubt i'll get my mommy to try out this one, despite its awesome effects, since the Madam is vunerable to bouts of nausea for no apparent reasons.

As for me, I think I might reduce the dosage to a quarter pill, should I decide to give the aspirin scrub a second try.
I'm just awesomely thankful that I didnt attempt to apply the Aspirin on my face and let it seep for prolonged hours.

Hello dangerously awesome skin.

Oh and for goodness sake, after you're done with the scrub, slather on some moisturizer.
If the Aspirin's good enough to eradicate even the toughest blackhead from within the pore, your skin obviously needs as much hydration as you have to offer.
Dont be an idiot.

Trixie afer 1 year old

To beat the monday blues...
here's an old video of the Dog playing "dead"

Her newer trick would be to "tunnel" and hop over my legs, like an agility obstacle.
This is my darling looking cute doing her thing

Buying Trip

It's been a busy week packed with events, and I'm flying off in less than 24hours, and I haven't started on the packing yet!

I have a good mind to just fly off without anything, and buy up EVERYTHING there.

Hello China, we're meeting again with the new passport!
This time, Dad informed me in less than 3 days, bought my tickets and I'm flying off alone for the frigging first time in my life!

Okay, I'm not that brave yet.
My papa's gonna pick me up at the airport in China.
I can't wait to meet Ben and Sam in FURson!
Meow!

I told the brother and mom that I'm contemplating sleeping with the cats!
(Though I think i'll itch and sneeze to death if I really do take up that option)
Hahahah!

Looking forward to the buying trip.
Excited about the new brand, and the opportunity to dabble in brand and style building from the scratch.
Downside? Everything's gonna be in chinese and reading in Chinese annoys me.

ok, I'm still anticipating on behalf of the Brand.
Lol!

Going pink bananas

Spring transiting to summer, I went through an entire hoard of Pastel colors, especially coral and nude and a mixture of dark red and purple.....
Now that it's full fledge summer, I've since moved on to neon pink, and perhaps a dash of highlighter yellow.

Coming from me, touching yellow seems rather exciting already!
I strongly came from the camp that I would look like a walking cheese if I wore yellow.
Oh well, too late, I've already crossed into cheese camp.
Will update if time and boredom permits!

Some post ago, I mentioned about the fringing craze that I was in?
Yeah, this is my fringed up top.
I went alittle nuts, and The entire top looked a little too stringy for my liking after a good wash.
Reminds me of a mop.

Fringed up top was bought from F21 clearance and it cost me $10
The crazy hippie shorts I paired with?
Best buy ever! It cost me $2.50 (RM5)
I picked it up from a Bazaar at the mall, while I was in Malaysia with the fam in May.
Best part of it all??
The mom paid for it.
Hahahahah.

Minus the cardigan, bag and shoe, that's my $12.50 outfit for me.
Hahahaha
The fun I had fringing it?
Priceless.

Went to Holland Village for cakes, coffee and discussion and ended up shopping in town
Felt like a hobo walking about town doing my own thing, while everyone was dressed up in smartly from their work day

Whatever.. that makes me a town hobo for the day with fuzzy hair to boot.
Yay!
I love the colors actually.

The sister came back from her NY trip, and got me more feathers.
Between the two of us, i'm not sure who's crazier over the feathery craze.
Here's yours truly doing the Pocahontas thingie again.
I edited the picture to make the feather texture obvious.
Lalalla..

Oh, and now we proceed to my new viz pink/neon pink craze.
i'm just 5% close from ordering this neon pink bag that I saw online.
In fact, I think I shall do it, after I'm done with this post.
I shall head out for some Macs too, since my dinner has long digested.

and throwing in 2 preview shots from my recent photoshoot with Shawn.
My outfit color totally matches my craze right now can?

OKAY BYE!
