sleep & coincidences

Think you'll all be disgusted to hear that i've been clocking a huge amounts of sleep recently.
At least 8hours a day, despite having to rush for projects and all....
what's even more impressive, i slept 15 hours straight after SIMONOPOLY! hahaha

Definitely spaced out even when i reached school.
SIMONOPOLY was rather fun... i was assigned to be the station master at International Plaza.
Everything was closed there, not even coffee bean. So i settled down on a patch of floor outside the building.

Definitely attracted lots of attention with my colorful monopoly board, group flags, and simonopoly money. Where most couldn't help but be curious. One man even came up to me, and asked if i was promoting anything of sorts, or was it some new form of marketing gimmick?

"No, we're playing a game", i told him, and Michelle suggested that i should really have told him that we're test launching the new 3D Monopoly, while others said that i should really have sold my colorful flags for $5.

Haha, definitely amusing, but sitting alone for 7 hours, with occassional vistiting from groups who land at my station, and Allen the photographer. The consistent breeze/wind soon made me drowsy, and i actually fell asleep!!

Damn! With all that attention that i was getting, i should have brought along a begging bowl with me, who knows, i may be able to buy myself drinks! =p
Going to the loo proved to be troublesome, as i'll have to pack up everything, uproot my monopoly board, then lug them all to the loo with me...
then setting up my "shop" again, after relieving myself.

------------------------------------------------

Mommy and Ah yi's still not reacting well to Grandad's passing away....especially Ah Yi. Mommy's just teary upon occassional reminders of him...
Wonder if a trip to Genting would help?

Mommy's fifth uncle struck lottery by combining certain numbers related to Grandad's funeral, and several other grand aunties also won a few thousand or hundreds, depending on their stake and the numbers. Coincidence again? Woah..everything's getting alittle hard to believe, but well, a Genting trip is being offered to the 2 mommies! Hope they'll take it up, as it'll do them good.

I received my Progress Packagae letter, and initially gleeful about the $200 that i'm due to collect, i got a little upset to know that others are getting more! >=(
Just for completing National Service, you get $400 more!
It's also unfair how government categorise the pay out purely based on housing. Shouldn't there be a fairer way to determine who gets more? Bah! Definitely better than nothing though..

Yes i'll be $200 richer...

hello!

Yes we're finally finished with our Marketing Research case study assignment.
I've been catching up on my sleep, and i must say that i haven't been doing a good job with the catching up part.

Granddad's funeral on Tuesday was a rather grand affair.
There was the live band that sang songs in dialect, making it difficult for me to appreciate them, the cymbal clanging gang that "performed" for more than an hour (they were dressed in white and green cowboy shirt and pants, donning on white cowboy hats with green furry stuff at the rims of the hat) , that made 3/4 the cousins nod off while waiting for the performance to finally be done..while the cymbals and trumpets were at it, there was those hideous big headed puppets with caterpillar eyebrows flailing their arms around in unison...
when they finally ended... i was left sleepy and half deaf.

Despite being a rainy weekday, many relatives and friends still took time off to send grandad off for the last time. We had the funky lorry that was decorated with florescent lights, and gay banners, and we also had the cymbal people and my uncle's tuscani leading the gayly decorated lorry, while we had people to carry the coffin and a whole load of people trailing behind. We walked a good long distance, before finally boarding the bus. We managed to hold up the traffic for a really long time, while the procession went on, and my socks was wet and icky after the walk.

Yup.. It looked more like a celebration, rather than a solemn affair. But the definitely sad.
Too many coincidence happened during this few days, and i dont think it's purely superstition.
I do hope that mommy and ah yi will get over it and feel better soon, though i know it will definitely take lots time, before they can actually let it go.

On a lighter note, im enclosing pictures of my 2 fat babies... Here they are, eating in unison, posing for the picture! They look like scoops of furry icecream! Haha!

left: Princess Tiger Lily. Right: Mr Pebbles.

I've just settled on my new look for this entire season. Considering the fact that im only left with Black, White, green, Blue, Grey and Khaki colors to parade around until i am done with mourning, my new favourite colors are turquoise and mint green, and the occassional black and white.

Boy am i glad that i purchased 2 new skirts from mango with my birthday vouchers! A faded denim skirt and a navy lantern skirt, and not forgetting a khaki super low v neck top.
I got a new turquoise wedge from VNC and im aiming at a bronze pair of heels from Parade! I got a new mesh black belt, and some stockings to cut! Haha!
im going mad splurging, and im feeling guilty. =X

I'm also aiming at a multiband ring, and a pair of ear cuffs earrings from Fie, and a sewing machine. I am so going to be broke, at the rate im spending. Arghhh!

emo days

An emotionally trying day for me, where
so much is said.. and so much is at stake.
friendships strained, trust broken, bonds reforged and most importantly, disappointments resolved.
I really hope that this case would really be closed, and things would start move on.

I do hope that this matter would make us all a better and stronger person at the end of the day, and there's seriously lots of reflections to ponder about.

Breaking down at the end of the day seems the sanest way for me to relieve frustrations.

It's difficult to remain strong...especially if i've never been one.
Hoping for the rainbows to appear and stay for ages. =)

Filial piety

I am taught never to compromise what i believe in, for others belief. It's a fine line between respect for others and trepassing my set of principles.

My mom also taught me never to judge a book by its cover, and never to critisise people without asking yourself if you're gulity.

I've never been a person who observes tradition. But i dare say that im not one who'll defy traditions either. I respect traditions of any culture and race.
But if i had to compromise one, between principles and tradition, i'll compromise the tradition.

Traditions is something that was created by my ancestors. It eventually watered down after many years.
Principles on the other hand, is something that i live by day to day. It's something that's brought me so far. It's my own set of principles that made me who i am today. It created Daphne.

As many would understand that my maternal grandad has just passed away, when mourning, there's this whole list of stuff that is a taboo.
there's simple stuff like you're not supposed to be wearing freaking pink, red or happy colors, or be wearing glittery stuff like accessories. Those, i can live by.

You're not supposed to be painting your face. You're not supposed to shave, you're not supposed to style your hair.
HA! THAT i cannot live by it. It's personal grooming you're talking about.
I wouldn't exactly say that im merticulous with my appearance, but neither would i look shabby and unkempt.

So you'll probably be wondering what's the entire issue about this, and being typically me, i hate walking around the bush. I prefer to jump right into it.

Mourning is not about how shabby you look, in order to show how filial you are.
Neither is the puffiness of your eyes look, that actually tell people that you have been crying.

You can look as shabby as you want, eyes as puffy as a pufferfish, but it doesnt mean that you're truly sad about the loss of a loved one.
Being filial is all about being there for the loved one, while he is still alive. Not looking sad, for damn relatives and friends to see after he's gone.. If i freaking believe in the later, i'll probably be a damn good actress.

The last thing i need is for some stupid uncle to tell me that i look like im going to the disco instead of a funeral.
Let's just clarify something here.

I'll definitely have alot more gook if im ever going clubbing. All i did was to apply blusher, eyeliner and a shade of pink that Zoe calls.."fang le deng yu may you fang" ( you might as not apply it, coz you can barely see it)
Is it such a crime to attempt not to look like a ghost at a funeral, lest people would be led to think that it's your funeral that they're attending instead?

Yah, probably it's the sunnies on my head, and the blue contact lens that made things look worst.
Then again, you didn't even attempted to see if there was any improvements before telling tales to my mommy.
If you have a problem, just tell me what to do, i happen to know how to exercise subtlety, but if it isn't enough, be a man. Instead of stabbing me in the back fight like any man would, instead of being a pussy..(even real pussies use claws to fight. they dont use knives.)
Using mommy to exert pressure on me doesn't quite seem to work recently. Coz i've got a mind of my own, a mouth of my own, and a temper of my own to rage.

And if you ask me, maybe he should check out the amount of gook that he's son applied onto his hair. A bird family of 5 could possibly start a nest home there.

If anyone's out to pinpoint me, they'll do so by all means.
Filial piety is within yourself, not your outlooks, neither is it a drama for all to see. If i wanted drama, i'll settle for chanel 55.
And if you wanna settle filial piety scores, i've got plenty to settle with the others. Dont try me.

updates

I haven't been blogging much, as predicted in my earlier entries.
Im finally done with my marketing test today, though i do have to admit that i didn't study as much as i would have wanted myself to achieve.
my second Managment accounting test went horribly wrong..so i'll prefer not to talk about it at all..
Anyways, as promised, some random pictures that i took recently....

A shot of my boo after his new haircut and brows. Haha.. I know the light in the background's a tad too bright. But somehow.. i kinda like the effect, so i chose not to edit the picture. =)

Thanks to Si hui, Jocelyn and Danli for the very cutely wrapped pressie! The card looks so cute right??

The weird looking panda that i posed with at the Com Fair..

Mr Panda looked exhausted, and alittle out of proportion! But still, im very much tickled by the weird face look. He currently working for Panda antivirus software.... Haha

Oh did i mention that i passed my first management accounting test? Managed to score a credit! Im overjoyed, but it's only 10% *anticlimax* Haha.
Well, i managed to watch V for Vendetta on thursday with my boo, and we had dinner at NYDC.. the baked rice are just delicious beyond words.

I learned that im not one who really fancies corn beef, and i also learned that cowa bunga serves very little corned beef. But I didn't order the corn beef. I ordered the Mushroom and ham rice ( i usually eat the 3 amigos, which is why im raving on and on about the ham and mushroom..). It's so yummy! Just thinking of it, makes me wanna eat it all over again. *smiles*

Well well... now that we're done with the happy stuff, let's move to the sad bits.
Granddad passed away at 3.20am on friday at the Hospice.
He passed away while sleeping, and i think it's definitely a big relief for him to be able to rest well for once. Having battled cancer for years, i've seen how much he has fought and suffered, and how much this illness has taken away from him - the ability to eat, and talk. Little things that we take for granted, meant the world to him.

The sacrifices people around him has made, especially yvonne and family, where words alone can't express my gratitude to them, for looking after granddad day and night, for ah yi who's constantly been shuffling around, to attend to his needs, no matter how exhausted she is.

It is truly in times like this, that we learn to appreciate the support and help that was shown to us, which in turn helped us grow into stronger people, to face the harsh reality that the world has to offer.

Sigh..

busy bee

i've been busy busy
I jumped into the bandwagon of working at the computer fair, right after handing my HMT in!
So for the past 4 days, i've been shuttling around, and just literally hanging around the fair, distributing flyers.

busy busy with my 2 coming test, til then, u might not hear from me.
I'll load pictures up in my next update, i promise! =)

For now, i'll like to thank Zoe, Daniel, Caecilia, Aaron, Eric, Yong Zhen, Agacia, Fiona, Jane, Michelle Ang, Ivy, Larlin, Waiyan, Stephanie, Vivian, Kenny, Robin, Justin, Jianshen, Paul and Tiffany, for the very big birthday present! Thank you! Thank you so much for all the $210 of shopping vouchers!

I'll be a good girl, and i'll work hard! Yay!!

Dinner yesterday was bad...... im down with LS! my tummy's doing the hip hop and some random sqeezing.....needless to say, the bottom channel's spending lots of quality time with my toilet bowl... its bad..but thank goodness, i'm feeling feeling better.

Arhhhh

I wanna shop at JB soon, any takers?

Friday, March 03, 2006

i need a life soon.. and some cakes.

i'm still stuck with my Employement Relations assignment at this time of the day, and all that i've got to blame would be the procrastinator in me. Argh! im so sick and tired of typing/looking/thinking of the word conflict, that i've decided to type other words that are non related to CONFLICTS.

Things that you ought to know....
1) Do you know that i had a haircut before my birthday, or was there no visible difference to you?

2) do you know that my hair color's currently classified as "unknown" color, coz it's been a really long time since i last colored it. =(

3) i finally named my 2 new hammies additions in the family. The girlie's named Tigerlily, and pebbles is the boy! mommy generously sponsored the payment of their home. It's pink and it looks so pretty. *beams happily* Thank you mommy!
(in case you're wondering, tigerlily, as in the red indian princess from the adventures of Peter Pan, and pebbles because his colorings remind me so much of the pebbles that people usually use to decorate their gardens.)

Pretty names right? *tee hee hee*

4) the hammies sleep in weird position, and there's evident sibling rivalry when they are drinking water. Apparently, when one drinks from the bottle, the other is immediately reminded of its own thirst...leading to the squabble and squeaks of who gets to drink first. *sigh*
Babies!

5) I've this super craving for cakes at the moment, and the cake cravings has been bugging me the whole of today! Give me a banana chocolate cake from Secret recipe, or Awfully chocolate's chocolate cakes, or Coffee Club's Tiramisu Al Cafe, or even Bakerzin's tapas would be good!
Give me some cakes!!

6) I met up with Daphne Wu again, and we had a blast chatting as usual! Psst! i bought myself a new bikini that's a roxy rip off. (saw it online) The price is good, but fitting is so so... but who cares? i couldn't find the real thing, so i had to settle for the second best!

and Daphy got herself a bikini too, of another design. Well i Told you, we had a blast! haha!

Designs defer slightly, but it's 90% similar....(or i wouldn't be able to recognise it then, would i?) anyways, gimme a chance to parade around in them soon, someone please organise a beach outing or something!

7) im going to Jumbo Seafood for dinner tomorrow, and i bet with my entire stomach that i'm so gonna be a glutton tomorrow night. *slurps*

8) That i've been doing alot of online shopping recently, and i am so tempted to buy half the stuff that i saw, and the only thing that's stopping me from my purchases, would be my unhealthy bank account (but thankfully, after my birthday it's lookin healthier now=))

9) my weetle pix!e need a bath and a home cleaning service soon, but i just haven't got the time..so she's stinking a little. I resorted to spraying this "smelling good" animal fragance to make her stink less. Haha! She smells like a baby now!

10) Went to Malaysia on wednesday night with the boo, mandy and kevin, for a little drive around JB, and we pumped petrol, get the cars washed, and supper together while waiting for the cars to be washed. the ayam maggi goreng is good, but i dunno what the man did to the chicken, the bones was all shattered, and i kept crunching into the little bits of bones. (bet i scarred my teeth), but i'll eat it again, if i ever have the chance to! We chatted til the wee hours of the morning, and i fell asleep instantly, the minute i hit the bed. ZzzzZ...

I wanna go shopping in JB soon! think of all the VNC shoes that i can stock up on!

Haha, just reading through what i have just typed, i realised that my thoughts are so random. abit of this, a bit of that, but just bear with me, until i get my sanity back. HMT's next. ARgh!!!!!
someone probably need to throw me a guidebook on "how to keep your sanity, when u're loaded with projects"

*groan* Now, i've gotta revert back to Employment relationship and overt and covert conflicts......zzzZZzz..

my birthday

Dinner at Shaslik the Russian restaurant

It's way past my birthday, and i've been too busy to blog once again. sheesh!
I'm thankful for all the birthday wishes that i've received from my friends and loved ones, and im truly grateful to know that i've not been forgotten!

I had dinner at Shaslik the Russian restaurant, and boo boo tried the escagots for his first time...just look at his silly expression that he's proudly posed for the camera! I had the safe and friendly onion soup, while he being more adventurous, tried the Borsch soup (beetroot soup! eek!) but they taste pretty good actually.

We had Steak for 2..and it has some russian name that i simply can't pronouce, and it's rather tender. The both of us were rather disappointed that the main chef was on MC, so we kinda missed out on their specialty - the Baked Alaska!
Boo!

Nevertheless, dinner's good, and we went over to the dollz inc at the wheelock to get my unazukin. This noddy little doll resembles a cross between a russian doll and an egg. They are soooooo CUTE! you ought to check them out! unazukin
They are voice activated, therefore, you're supposed to ask the little doll a question, and she'll nod of shake her head in response to your quetions!
Well, she's cute, but she's kinda costly for a little toy.. 15 bucks!
No regrets for me though, only wished that the shop brought more variety... the website had so much more!

Mine's the pink one with the rose buds!

We headed over to the night safari, and it's my first visit there, since it's opened 12 years ago. We sat on the tram ride, and after alittle while, boo and i felt comfy enough to sleep anytime...it's dark and our tummies are warm and comfy...yeps.

There wasn't any picture opportunity, as the safari kept reminding us that "the animals are night creatures, and they are sensitive to flashes" blahblahblah...so we didn't have any pictures at all, except for the night safari signboards. haha.
I was very very amused by the giant rodents, which were about the size of a baby calf! They are practically like giant hamsters! The little racoons and the tapir are adorable too!
The little badgers are so naughty, while they were performing at the animal show. They were supposed to do little tricks of throwing the cans into the recycling bins...but instead, it started fiddling around with the cans, refusing to let the cans go....
It's definitely a great experience, that could have been better, if only we could capture them on pictures!

I fancied the zebra rubbish bin, so i insisted on taking a picture with it. Zebras are just so pretty!

Updates!

At Bakerzin enjoying my Tapas with Zoe.

Time for short little updates!
I haven't been a good girl with waking up on time, as i seem to be suffering from "sleepy deaf ears" syndrome. Nothing seems to be able to wake me up recently.. Haha!

I had dinner with Zoe at Bakerzin's on Tuesday, after school. The tapas were great, and they were so nicely decorated that i actually hesitated eating them for a long time, before tucking in.
If you ask me, im still in sky high from the desserts!

Zoe had some cheesecake icecream with loads of berries toppings, that just looking at it, made my tooth hurts! But definitely tasted yummy too!
As usual we gossiped like mad, and the shops were nearly closed, when we were done with dinner.

In fact, just taking a look at the Bakerzin website, is enough to make your mouth water!

Anyone interested in treating me to a round of Tapas?

Linda & i in Zouk's toilet

I got my weekly fix of mambo yesterday, and it took me quite a huge effort to resist "lancing lancing" the whole of Wednesday. I finally succumb to the urges, and there i was! "Lancing around!"

Linda was there with me, and we had quite a blast hopping from Zouk to phuture, then back to Zouk, then Phuture again.
It was rather fun hanging out with Uncle Sean and the rest, over at members, and i love the little fiber optic light decorations! They look so pretty in the dark! I'll wanna do that when i have a little home of my own in future. Ha!

As for Thursday, my Boo brought me over to Raffle's house to collect the Hammies! They are sooo puny and cute! i took a total of 4 hammies, 2 for me, and 2 for Mich, and the puny ones look so sweet, when they snuggle up against each other when sleeping. *sigh*
I'll update pictures of the little hammies when i actually do find the time to load pictures up and blog again.

There's the dreaded Employment Relations assignment due on the 3rd March, and History of Management Thoughts literature Review that's due on the 7th or 8th March. And yet another Managment Accounting Test on the 14th March. I am so gonna be a grumpy girl til the 14th, and i'll definitely have those little swirls in the eyes, just like those characters in comics illustrations!

Bah! What a way to celebrate my birthday! Being busy with projects! Yucks!

yattle yattle!

Yes i know i've been gone for a really long time! Ha!
I'm alive, busy and very much alive and excited!!

So what have i been doing? Haha, I dont quite know where to start....
I've caught 6 fireworks in total! 5 in singapore, and 1 in malacca. Most fireworks viewing were planned by the boo, as for some, it was purely by chance that we passed by! I think the ones that were exhibited on the last day of CNY were the prettiest!
Mr Boo brought me to the spot where we could view it best! He's the sweetest, just to think of it!

We celebrated our 2nd year anniversary on the 13th, where we ate at this Korean place at the Heeren, then i went home and mugged for Managment Accounting test later in the night.

I sat for my test on the 14th morning, went home to pack my baggage, napped alittle, visited grandpa at the hospice for alittle while, then ate lunch, and left for malacca!
How exciting! A little roadtrip all by ourselves to celebrate our anniversary, and valentines day!
Whooppee!!

I enjoyed my little trip with boo alot, even though it was alittle short, and Malacca isn't the most exciting place on earth.
As expected, i wasn't very helpful with the road directions most of the time, and we ended up being rather lost while exploring the town area, but still managed to make our way to my apartment rather quickly.

We got lost again the second time, while exploring after dinner. We only managed to find our way back home after 2 hours!
We caught the fireworks, while we were playingthe game "master mind" in the room on the first night. It's a good view, coz the people over at Portugese settlement with the fireworks was just not too far away from the seaview from my place.

We hung out at Makohta Parade the next day and had Kenny Rogers for lunch. It's such a lip smacking experience! The chicken meat was so tender yet juicy that i couldn't have enough of it all, yet the ones available in Singapore is hopelessly tough, like you're chewing on wood. The boo did most of the shopping, and we headed home in the evening and took a nap, before waking up for dinner.

Alas! We were woken up by the pattering of the rain! As neither of us brought the umbrella along, we stayed home and settled for instant noodle that was meant to be supper! Luckily my sweetie had the foresight to bring along a few movies for entertainment, so we watched the Copse Bride by Tim Burton, while we ate dinner. It's entertaining, alittle morbid, but a nice ending nevertheless.

I superimposed us into the picture that we took for St pauls, coz it's impossible for the both of us to get pictures taken together, coz he's afraid that the locals would run away with my olympus. so silly but sweet, and i'll rather play safe too. Hee!

Our third day in Malacca, we did the tourist routine, and went exploring the St paul's church, the Stadturys, as well as to visit the 5 musuems around the red house area. Definitely enriching, historic and lots of stair climbing to do!

We walked alot, and got lost while hunting for the nonya restaurant that i recommended. Making the best out of the situation, we settled for some gui ling jelly in this herbal shop tt sells desserts, while i, chose the safe and friendly honey dew sago dessert!
Finally, we spotted the dinner place, when we were about to give up hunting.

So there we were, I guess the boy enjoyed the home made chendol best! Haha.

Being our last night in Malacca, we utilised our remaining time by exploring the town in the middle of the night, in search of any hopeful night life and supper place.
We chanced upon about 15-20 little motorbike coming together, about to start a race, just right in front of my place, i was rather amused to see that none were actually race bikes, but the typical ones with baskets attached in the front.

We drove around chinatown, in search of a particular chinese temple, and gave up trying after a few attempts.Ending my night with some duck noodles that's sold near my place, watching the Brothers grimm while enjoying our little supper.

Our last day there, we had lunch at this yummy shop that sells beef noodles, then went to explore the mini malaysia. It boast of having different architectural from the various malayan states, as well as ASEAN architecture. Definitely disappointing, as the place wasn't well maintained, and there wasn't much to seem as most of the houses was actually undergoing renovations. I felt so cheated, such a waste of time and money.

We reached Singapore in the evening on friday, and i'm never happier to see my beloved bed and pillows! But im sad that our little holiday had to end so quickly, coz coming back to Singapore, is like coming back to reality. It's such a dilema... the choice between the happy holiday and my beloved pillows! Sigh...
I hate to be reminded that i've got school tomorrow, and him having to work again.

I do hope that we'll be going on another trip soon.. it's just so addictive!

I woke up really late on saturday, to make up for all the lost sleep ( i've no idea why i was so tired, coz i clocked 10 hours a night while in malacca!), got dressed, snuck out for some icecream cakes at this place called the island ice-creamery at Serene Center! The cakes are just so pretty!!
I chose the muddy pie, and the Baked Alsaka to share with the boo, before rushing back home, to catch my ride for grampa's birthday dinner.

We had BBQ for dinner to celebrate grampa's and my birthday in advance. The prawns we had for for the night were HUGE! It's pointless for me to attempt to justify the size of the prawns coz you'll probably say that im exaggerating!
Hmpf! But i still want to!

The prawn was the size of the paper plate. Gawd, it's not some small paper plate, but the usual sized ones that most of us would use to hold our beehoon, curry and chickenwings. Yes, the prawn curled nicely onto that paperplate, and filled it up rather snugly. It's THAT HUGE!

After dinner, boo fetched me to Changi Aloha to attend Council's initiation chalet. Due to unforeseen circumstances, he had to wait at my home's lobby, until i got home, before sending me over to Changi. It was already 11 when i reached there. I felt really bad making him wait, coz he could have been doing better stuff, rather than fetching me to the other side of the island.

It's a long night for me at the chalet, as we had department sharing sessions then EXCO meetings, and everything only kinda ended at 6am for me.
Just when i am getting ready to play, the entire world is getting ready to leave! Everyone was everywhere picking up their bags, getting ready to catch the morning bus home. It was so disappointing, coz i was expecting them to be enthusiastic, despite the long day that they had.

We were much more enthusiastic last semester, where everyone chilled and talked by the pool side. We finished at least 5 bottles of Absolut Vodka last initiation day, yet, we barely finished one Bottle this time. How sad.

Playing the game of "i've never..." a handful of us finished the entire bottle of Absolut Apeach in 2 hours. When we left the Chalet at 8 in the morning, i can't quite decide if im looking and feeling shitty coz i'm tired, or was it the effects of the alcohol? Whatever it is, too tired to make any talks at all, i fell into a deep sleep while travelling home in the cab...

I woke up a few hours later, and i had my second advance birthday dinner with boo and his folks at Kallang's no signboard seafood restaurant.
We had the white pepper crab, steamed crab, brocolli with scallops, this cutesy stuffed tofu dish that i like, chilli kang kong, fried baby squids, and the yummy butter prawns!

Everything's so yummy that i kept eating non stop! I ended my dinner with Hashima for dessert, and the silly boy refused to try the Hashima, coz he's disgusted by it. Haha. Silly boy!

Whatever it is, i'll have to thank my silly boo, for everything that has happened for the past week, coz i don't think i'll really be writing this really long entry tonight without him.
And not forgetting all our little adventures together for the past 2 years...

Oh yes, ASOS is having sale! Da just tempted me into buying stuff online again!
Argh!!!

psst! You're not stupid. I only said you're stupid, but I never thought that you're stupid, ok? =(

smirky

I've been a good girl these few days, i ate my medicine like any good girl should, and i drank water like a camel, and Im finally recovering from my flu.
I think it's all the drugs that i've consumed that speed things up alittle!! Yay!

Though, i do realise that it's rather unusual for a sick person to experience difficulties with falling asleep, despite all that wonkiness that medication caused.
No matter how wonky i feel, it's impossible for me to get rested sleep. So im looking very tired for the time being. Yes yes, battling with the common colds and chills is definitely hard work!

I went to watch Fun with Dick and Jane with boo boo today. The show's hilarous! Especially when Dick and Jane start getting desperate, resorting to showering, when their neighbour's sprinkler's on, and changing their Beemer to a little yellow Volkwagen i think.

Definitely a show worth watching, coz i think it's worth the laughter.
Now im starting to feel like im some movie critic, but hey, im sharing the good stuff with you, so why complain? Haha.

We managed to catch fireworks at the Padang for the fourth time this CNY! I think it'll be my last fireworks for 2006's CNY, and i must say that Im one satisfied girl.
*smirk*

Boo timed everything nicely, so they would coincide one after another. First the movie, then when the movie ends, we'll only need to walk alittle, and look for a nice spot, to watch all the fireworks!
We climbed onto those little spiral stairways at Marina Square, and the fireworks were right before my eyes! They're just so pretty!

Somehow, reality beakons, and it seems like i've got to start studying for the MAB test, whether i like it or not. 10 marks seem so difficult to score, and as usual, im just too lazy for words.... and much too lazy to start studying earlier.

Oh well...dont you just hate reality sometimes?

A Season for Love...

I was just bumming around at home, when Linda's phone call jolted me away from my far away land of day dreams. She wanted to catch a movie, and i didn't mind catching one, there we go.
=)

* 45mins later *

We met up at the Cineleisure, and we decided to watch a korean flick called "A Season of Love".
It sounded so romantic, and the pictures looked so happy and gleeful.

The actresses all look so pretty...but only 2 actors look cute. Judging from the pictures above, guess which 2? Haha!

The movie was portrayed in the same style as this other movie called "Love Actually", With 8 characters/4 couples and we see a different story, and a different lesson to learn.

I shan't go too much into the movie plot, in case i start bawling all over again...
Well. we ended up crying alot towards the end of the show, and Linda cried alot more than me.

"To live is to love, so as to live no regrets....."

Definitely something that anyone who's been through a relationship could relate to.
Since no one warned us that the show is gonna require lots of tissue, neither of us actually brought tissues along. i ended up wiping all that tears onto my pants to dry my fingers. =~(
Kinda messy, but it sure beats looking streaky.

I grieved so much for the fireman that didn't managed to propose to his girlfriend. On the night of the planned proposal, He died, while he was on duty. In his last few moments, he located a survillance camera, and signed languaged "I love you" to girlfriend, before he died.
I cried like mad to that scene, it's just so tragic.

Another tear jerking scene that got me weeping throughout, was the bonding the boy between his cancer striken mom. How he understood her love for him (those unspoken thoughts), when he chanced upon her hidden diary, and how she fought her illness, and remained strong for him.

Despite all that sad soppy scenes, there's loads of humour injected throughout the scenes, so it definitely kept me alternating between laughter, and sobbing.

Yes i know, im all emotional and soppy now. But some girls are just suckers for soppy movies, and im no exceptional.

Movie Review, incase you're interested. But definitley not suitable for Valentines day..unless you fancy your girl sobbing into your best attire....

still sick..and now a druggie

im still sick after so many day, and im practically drowning with my phlegm.I swear that i get so disgusted at the weird noises that im making subconsciously, that i jolt myself awake again. It's so gross!!!

SO i really didn't manage to sleep much, and i've finally decided to pay the doctor a visit.Just looking at all the medicine, i already feel like a druggie.

2 mint green pills the size of Panadol for my fever and flu.
10ml of yucky syrup for phlegm
another 10ml for the cough,
2 slim pills the antibiotics
1 tiny pill for my sore throat.

that's a total of 5 pills and 4 spoonfuls of medicine.
It's horrid.I nearly puked after im done with my first "serving" of drugs,
and i was tearing when im done with all the syrup.

So disgusting!!!!!Hate being sick...and now i feel drugged.... sleepy sleepy

oh, oh and before i forget,
i saw fireworks for the third time, while we were passing by the esplanade area this CNY!
Boy, they're pretty!!! and im glad to see them again.

i shall rave on and on abt the pretty fireworks when im not so drowsy ya?
i can't believe it..there's sch tmr again.

Sick again, with a whole stomach of phlegm!

Urgh..! im sick again!
It started out as a little cough..then it progressed on to become some serious phlegm problem, and what do you know next? I'm down with fever!
I died at home the entire day, with absolutley no sense of humour, or mood to do anything at all.

Just plain misery lying in bed, sitting up is worst, and having aching bones is the worst part of it.
All the phlegm injested into my system made me feel pukish, and if i ever had to throw up, i wouldnt be surprised that it's all gross and sticky oozing out of my system!

i think i caught all these nonsense from Da! Hmpf! it's all her fault!
but looking on the bright side, im back to talking and blogging again. it was so bad that i didn't even have the mood to eat my dinner, not mentioning to utter words of crap during dinner.
I sure hope that tomorrow's gonna be a better day. It's bad to be sick.

2nd time for this year, and it's only start of feb! *cough cough*

food, weight loss and partying.

I've been feeling way too lazy to blog recently.
Somehow, this CNY has kinda lost it's special festive flavour to me this year..but no doubt, i had my fair share of feasting and angpows.

From visiting around, to watching Jet Li's latest show the Fearless with my boo, to granny's one year death anniversary, and an early birthday pressie from Ben, and some shopping, that probably sums up my CNY.

Oh and there's Mambo @zouk yesterday!
My first Mambo for 2006. It's been more than a month since the last time i went for mambo.
With my very bad school schedule, it was impossible for me to actually attend Mambo, and get to school on time.
As the way it is, i'm already having problem getting myself to school in time without all that partying..... can u actually imagine what happens if i did party?
( all that new year resolution to be a better student is really getting to me..Haha!)

It also seem to me that wearing black has a special slimming effect on me. Coz the general comment that i heard when i stepped out of Chris's car, was about me losing some weight!
I thought Jo and the rest were kidding me, until i met Alex.
He too said the same thing. Hmmm and he doesn't know the others...
I'm thrilled to be looking like i've lost "weight"..
Haha, but in truth, there wasn't any weight loss involved, and im actually suspecting a weight gain lurking around instead.
Despite all that speculation, i refused to weigh myself! ( yes, yes..i'm in denial)
neither is Black is not going to be my favourite color....it's just so morbid a color for my liking.

We partied hard as usual, enjoyed ourselves as usual, not forgetting those random idiots who's always trying to push their way up to the platforms, half drunk and all. It's all part of the experience i guess...Blearh.

Post party note: Im aching all over now...and I feel like a slug...Argh...!

CNY CNY

Happy CNY Here's pretty pix!e dressed up in her pretty red ribbons, posing with a pair of mandarin orange! Haha

Dusty the hammie, posing with pix!e's ribbons just for laugh!

It's been a tiring day for me. Went to a total of 4 places, and im extremely well watered and fed! Ooh..
Went over to my Telok Blangah to visit grandpa (momsy's dad), where all my maternal relatives gather, to distribute the red packets, then went over to Seng Kang to visit my paternal grandad...where all paternal relatives meet, then there's grand aunts to visit after tt. I caught myself dozing in the car when travelling, and while i watching the telly during visitation... im rather sure that it's all the food that i've stuffed into my mouth, and the weather .

Some stripey blue and white pictures of us just for looks, and it's up, coz it matches my new skin. This rim design that he fancies. Too bad the BBS rims doesn't fit his car.... but i think this rim design looks nice. Over the past 2 days of rim shopping, i'm rather proud to say that im officially able to boast about my little knowledge for rims. Hee hee hee!

CNY's approaching, yet i feel as excited as a dead fish. Hmpf.

presents & a one night stand.

Mr boo went to the workshop, and added more stuff into his prized sound system. So he was given a replacement car for the time being. While he was at it, i was shopping away somewhere around town area... When he was done with his stuff, he came over to pick me up!

I was supposed to meet him by the road side, then hop on, when he drives by.... unfortunately for me, with the bad human traffic and all, i had difficulties locating the place and getting there fast. i was running around the roadside, looking like a chicken that's lost it's head!!!

While i was running thru and fro with my mobile in hand, i was unable to locate the mazda!
It slipped my mind, in my moment of panic that he's not driving the mazda...and i kept ignoring this honking car (which happens to be my boo!)
Sigh...

I laughed, when i finally saw and got into the car, and laughed even harder after observing the interior. It's just soooo retro!

The car's vintage alright! But according to boo boo, you can see signs that the car was once the pride and joy of someone. It's well taken care of, if you take it's age and other factors into consideration.
With it's very "happening" alarm system (when it's locked & unlocked, it says viper armed and disarmed, alittle too soft for me to hear it clearly... yes i laughed again), the racing momo steering wheel, sports pedal, some interesting light that starts blinking, if you rev the engine up to a certain rpm, and the engine switches off by itself after you remove the key...blahblahblah.. not forgetting the "ah beng" lights in the boot!

Yes i am so tickled by it!
I had a go at driving the car too, since it's a manual. But having not been driving for a loooooonng time, i was alittle rusty! And i forgot how to park.
Yeah, so i satisfy myself by going around different carparks, and round and round and round. I refused to drive home myself. *smirk*

My boo look so proud in here! This is his official "one night stand" car! The proton saga i think.

It's definitely one experience to remember! The vintage car and all...

For his mom's birthday, we celebrated for her, and had bufffet dinner at Hotel Rendevous, i ate about 15 herbal drunken prawns that night! It's the yummiest thing served in the entire buffet spread. Ho! ho! and the prawns are live and fresh!
They look so cute when they're swimming in the tank. Huge eyes that are placed so far apart!

As for the prezzie, We've got her the osim UZAP for her birthday, and guess what?
Her best friend's gotten her a UZAP as well. duH.. now we're stuck with 2. Amazing huh?

So if anyone's interested in getting a UZAP that's unused... ask me.. But price's not negotiable. Retail price should be $268.. if u're interested it's 10% off the R.P.(retail price).

sistas forever!

Sisters! This was taken during doreen's wedding dinner.

our naughty pose during the dinner.

It's been quite some time since we've attended Doreen's wedding, but it's only recently, that we've managed to lay our hands on some of the pictures!

well ...between Da and i, it's a love hate relationship that we share.
No matter how much i detest her at times, i do have to admit that we've got our share of good times, and most importantly, the bonding we can't deny. Thank you for being there for me, when i was at my lowest point in life. =)
